Swiper Posted 2 June 2015 Posted 2 June 2015 No better than what we've already got. Overrated anyway. Maybe no better as an overall player than our current wings, but he would instantly be our best set-piece taker. He's scored some free kick beauties. This team could really use a boost in that department.
theessexfox Posted 2 June 2015 Posted 2 June 2015 He's got pace and power which is an asset in the Prem, my Wolves mate questioned his work rate.
South Shire Fox Posted 2 June 2015 Posted 2 June 2015 Definitely take him on a free but not for stupid wages, could be a very useful player.
Wymsey Posted 2 June 2015 Posted 2 June 2015 A bit like Beckford, you just don't know whether he'll have a great game or a stinker - in terms of attitude.
Callabinho Posted 3 June 2015 Posted 3 June 2015 What you can say about him is he does have quality. Some players need a certain type of manager to help them bring their best qualities out, Bolasie is a perfect example of this now look at him, possibly one of the most dangerous players on his day. Sakho has enough quality about him to become a decent PL player, he just needs the right kind of management to get it out. Pick him up for a few million and you've got a player.
UpTheLeagueFox Posted 3 June 2015 Posted 3 June 2015 I like Sako. Yeah he can be a bit frustrating and inconsistent but then most players are, certainly at the level we'd be looking to sign. And plenty of our players fell into that bracket last season. He would've joined us last summer but other elements connected to the deal didn't fall into place.
Basingstoke Fox Posted 3 June 2015 Posted 3 June 2015 His strike against us when we last played them at the KP was outrageous.
ROB-THE-BLUE Posted 4 June 2015 Posted 4 June 2015 No thanks! Would have been happy to have him in the Championship but he doesn't look Premier League quality from what I've seen of him
LCCFox96 Posted 4 June 2015 Posted 4 June 2015 Sako's goal scoring rate from wide midfield has been impressive. His pace and power will surely suit our direct style of play. I see him as a more technically gifted Jeff Schlupp but don't think he'd be quite as fast and powerful as Schlupp. He also has over 100 games top flight experience in France and some international football under his belt. For a free transfer you can't argue with that. With Fuchs signing yesterday and given that last season we tied up all of our free transfer dealing - excluding Cambiasso - within a few days of each other (was it not Hamer, Upson, Albrighton in consecutive days) I'd expect to maybe see some movement on this one, if its true, sooner rather than later.
Ric Flair Posted 4 June 2015 Posted 4 June 2015 When you look at what Bolasie and Puncheon have done for Palace after scrabbling about at Championship level then I think Sako is worth a punt on a free
Soar Fox Posted 4 June 2015 Posted 4 June 2015 When you look at what Bolasie and Puncheon have done for Palace after scrabbling about at Championship level then I think Sako is worth a punt on a free Definitely worth a go on a free. If it doesn't work out you'll easy be able to get a million or two in a years time for him. Most likely from Bolton.
kingcarr21 Posted 4 June 2015 Posted 4 June 2015 Definitely worth a go on a free. If it doesn't work out you'll easy be able to get a million or two in a years time for him. Most likely from Bolton. or Preston

Sounds interesting (oops others on here will be frothing at the mouth at me saying it's interesting )Genuinely hope he comes if big Nige thinks he would fit in etc

Was this to do with Chris Wood rejecting going there in return?
TJB-fox Posted 5 June 2015 Posted 5 June 2015 Looks increasingly likely, every day theres a different source linking him to us. Not really fussed about the supposed attitude problems though, NP has shown time and time again he is a 'man manager'. The supposed issues from Sako are also because he wants to play premiership football, which we could offer so doubt he'd cause a stir.
FOXES-BROWNBOY Posted 5 June 2015 Posted 5 June 2015 been linked with about every club, and he wouldnt suit our formation he is an out and out winger
Simo86 Posted 5 June 2015 Posted 5 June 2015 been linked with about every club, and he wouldnt suit our formation he is an out and out winger We don't know what formation we'll be playing next season though! I wish people would stop banging on about players not fitting our formation! Ideally we'll have more than one formation in mind going in to next season!
conLAD logan Posted 5 June 2015 Posted 5 June 2015 Sky sports reporting saying we have made an offer to him on 'transfer centre'
LCCFox96 Posted 5 June 2015 Posted 5 June 2015 been linked with about every club, and he wouldnt suit our formation he is an out and out winger Marc Albrighton is an out and out winger yet he looks more than mildly competent at RWB. If we do sign Sako we can assume that the coaching staff have seen something about his game that might suit the LWB role (or possibly even the CAM role) or we are looking to strengthen to have a multitude of options across a multitude of systems, which would be very wise management.
foxfanazer Posted 5 June 2015 Posted 5 June 2015 Wouldn't be totally against it but i do think he's overhyped a fair bit. Nige will want 100% commitment and effort so if he's up to those levels he could be alright. Bit of a 'meh' transfer but then i thought that about Albrighton at the time
Guest bss9401 Posted 5 June 2015 Posted 5 June 2015 I would absolutely welcome Sako. He has been an above average championship player and is overdue a go in the Premier league. He may well flourish with the right manager. Well worth a go ad if he accepts what NP thinks he's worth, get him in.
Nick Posted 5 June 2015 Posted 5 June 2015 Is he left or right footed? I thought the left was covered now with Jeff and the new Fucher... I was hoping for a fast RWB to give competition to Marc A.
kingfox Posted 5 June 2015 Posted 5 June 2015 One of those players who goes from good to crap, had a good goalscoring campaign this season though. Would be an option in a 3-4-3 formation.

And from the tinterweb: But out-of-contract Wolves winger Bakary Sako looks to be heading to Leicester City, who will move ahead of Premier League cohorts Everton by making a concrete offer. The Mali international, 27, wants to move to Goodison Park but the financial package available with the Foxes may be more to his liking. Big spending massive Leicester - eat me Dyche.
