MC Prussian Posted 6 June 2015 Posted 6 June 2015 What bloody formation are we playing next season Judging by the tactics deployed towards the latter stage of the now past season, I'd go with a 3-4-1-2 or 3-5-2, with an option to revert to a back four if needed.

LCCFox96 Posted 6 June 2015 Posted 6 June 2015 So if Sako does end up coming he's challenging Schlupp and Fuchs for that left sided midfield position I'd agree with this but he gives another attacking and flair based option off the bench, which Fuchs and Schlupp might not necessarily offer. He brings a lot to the party for a free transfer and would be good business if we can tie him down on a reasonable wage packet.
Will1981 Posted 6 June 2015 Posted 6 June 2015 I would of thought he would compete with Mahrez for the free role behind the strikers I dont think he is defensively good enough to play as a LWB.
Gerard Posted 6 June 2015 Posted 6 June 2015 He'll never get 80k a week. The dressing room wouldn't care if Lionel Messi came here on 80k a week but there will be a lot of off players who get half that and are better than Sako and that will piss the dressing room off.
VLC86 Posted 6 June 2015 Posted 6 June 2015 I would of thought he would compete with Mahrez for the free role behind the strikers I dont think he is defensively good enough to play as a LWB. So what about Kramaric? Sako would probably be used in a 442 as an out and out winger.
Mike Oxlong Posted 6 June 2015 Posted 6 June 2015 He was on £25k per week at Wolves. If he wants more than double that you should tell him to do one. Oh and he's very left footed. Occasionally connects with one with his right foot that flies in, but most of them end up in the stands. A chunkier and more expensive version of Lloyd then.
ian66 Posted 6 June 2015 Posted 6 June 2015 Sako takes penalties for Wolves I think, anyone know his success rate? I'd certainly welcome a reliable penalty taker!
benpicko Posted 6 June 2015 Posted 6 June 2015 So if Sako does end up coming he's challenging Schlupp and Fuchs for that left sided midfield position Or we play at times with a front 3 of Kramarić/Ulloa in the middle, Vardy/Sako on the left, and Mahrez/Nugent on the right? Would that work? He definitely doesn't seem the type of player we'd be making changes to our winning formation for
The Bear Posted 6 June 2015 Posted 6 June 2015 Sako takes penalties for Wolves I think, anyone know his success rate? I'd certainly welcome a reliable penalty taker! I can only remember him missing one, when he tried to place it softly instead of battering it.Oh and he's no good behind the striker. We've tried him there before. He gets crowded out too quickly. His game is based on isolation, quick feet and powering past people.

He definitely doesn't seem the type of player we'd be making changes to our winning formation for 3-4-3 with Sako - Vardy _Mahrez as the front 3 sounds pretty tasty to me actually now you mention it! Don't think many defenders would like to face that.
UpTheLeagueFox Posted 6 June 2015 Posted 6 June 2015 Was this to do with Chris Wood rejecting going there in return? Yes...it would effectively have been a swap deal...Wood was offered a generous package to leave us (as he wouldn't get the same wages at Wolves) but he and his advisors wanted a lot more money (allegedly) so it all fell through. Shame. Then we had the "I want to stay and fight for my place" quotes from Wood.

4everfox Posted 6 June 2015 Posted 6 June 2015 not shame , shame we don't get rid of useless Nugent instead crystal meth or crack cocaine?
GeorgeTheFox Posted 6 June 2015 Posted 6 June 2015 not shame , shame we don't get rid of useless Nugent insteadI like to think your username is a typo and it's actually meant to be Little Brain. Would be more fitting
Guest Posted 6 June 2015 Posted 6 June 2015 not shame , shame we don't get rid of useless Nugent instead you are joking aren't you?
benpicko Posted 6 June 2015 Posted 6 June 2015 not shame , shame we don't get rid of useless Nugent instead Let me guess, Wood's the best finisher we have, Pearson just misused him, and Nugent is useless because he didn't score 20 goals this season?
Wymsey Posted 6 June 2015 Posted 6 June 2015 Got the physical presence we still need, that perhaps other strikers (barring Ulloa) don't have. Does anyone else keeping thinking the word 'bakery' when seeing this thread title, and feel like having some sausage rolls/gingerbread man?
MPH Posted 6 June 2015 Posted 6 June 2015 I can only remember him missing one, when he tried to place it softly instead of battering it. *shudders*
theessexfox Posted 6 June 2015 Posted 6 June 2015 Rarely uses his physical presence unfortunately, poor in the air for a big bloke.
LCFC FOX Posted 7 June 2015 Posted 7 June 2015 If we sign him he'll be used in the role behind the strikers or CM. I doubt he can track back enough for wing back
Callabinho Posted 7 June 2015 Posted 7 June 2015 He's an unpolished gem, Nigel's tried it before with player like N'guessen, but I think Sakho will have enough to be a success this time.

NP "lads we are buying Bakery" GTF "Fvck it I am signing for life and you don't need to pay me"
