April Manager of the month

From Wiki

The recipient is chosen by a panel of Football Association members and announced alongside the Player of the Month on the first or second Friday of the following month

MON won it 3 times and even Peter Failure won it in September 2000 when we went top of the league.

Adrift at the bottom of the table to (what the media is generally billing as) almost certain safety, following 4 straight wins and a single loss to the team that's dominated the division - and even in that match we held our own for much of the game.

Through April, Chelsea were the ONLY team to score more points than us (13 to our 12), with Everton playing 1 less but having a marginally higher PPG (2.5 vs 2.4).

Sure, Jose has won the league, but that was always going to happen. There's a minor argument that their fixtures were 'tougher', but at the end of the day we were playing teams well above us in the table (generally) whereas they've played teams below them.

Oh, and while Jose's team has got the results by playing efficiently, we've got the results by playing attractive, exciting football.

Pearson HAS to win it, regardless of off-the-pitch events...

MotM curse is a myth. Expectations get raised by the preceding form that won the manager the trophy, and when that form comes to an end the fans blame the 'curse' for their performances rather than the natural course of events.

Mourinho surely? Seeing as our record was similar to Chelsea and they beat us

I'd argue our efforts were a little more impressive and surprising.

That's not really how it works.

lol I think there is more to it... we looked down and out before April now we are out the relegation zone with 5 wins from 6... what Pearson achieved over that month is more impressive in my view

4 wins and one defeat from 5 in April.

If there's more to it, then great. Pearson will get the recognition he deserves

Pearson is the only candidate surely. To turn around our woeful form. Spending 140 days at the bottom of the league. Having only won 4 games all season. To see us win 4 on the trot and climb out the drop zone is nothing short of remarkable. we havent even relied on 1 player. The whole team has contributed and as an attacking unit we look threatening going forward. Before April we were the team that everybody wanted to play as we couldnt defend to save our lives. Now i would put it out there that we are the most feared team atm knowing what atmosphere we create as fans and our never say die attitude in games. We are scoring goals for fun and even made Chelsea look mediocre first half.

Chelsea had a great month but there supposed to be picking up the points they did. We were dead and buried and facing relegation in the face.

We are on the verge of breaking premier league records after Aprils performances. MOTM can only go to 1 man. The ostrich lover himself

An appropriate post from Xen.

Beating Man Utd, drawing away against their worst rivals and not concede a goal in either game?

Beating the form team (us) with a sterling 45 minutes?

Picking up the most points in April?

I'd say Mourinho has a pretty strong case.

It'll be a close one!

Vardy could be in with a shout for Player of the Month?

Goals and assists, terrorising defences and winning a lot of plaudits.

Fairly confident Harry Kane did a goal in April so he's a shoo-in

Just a thought but if Pearson had been sacked after the Spurs game on Boxing Day, with a new manager appointed who achieved exactly the same results and style. Would the new guy be up for manager of the season?

Ifs and buts... You could argue that Pardew has potentially saved two clubs from relegation. Koeman made a Southampton side stripped of many of its stars play even better than last year. Mourinho is obviously the strongest candidate of all with a flawless season in the League. Pulis yet again saving a team from relegation.

There are many very strong candidates there. They would arguably deserve it more than someone who was only there for 5 months and saved a team that many predicted would stay up at the start of the season.
