Any chance that NP will still be moved on?

So let's say we stay up... Objective achieved for the second season running and a big pat on the back for Nige?

OR

A decision has already been made to release him once we are safe; due to the horrendous back-catalaogue of 'off-the field events'?

Just concerned that the Thai 'respect' culture could still have a big impact on Nige...

Before the extraordinary turn around I was certain that Pearson would leave in the sumemr either on his own accord or mutually. Now i'd be amazed if either party wanted rid of one another. It'll come to end at some point, it always does in football but we're still none the wiser what actually happened after the Palace debacle. Everything seems ok at the minute and long may that continue.

If he survived them without a murmur at the time, he'll survive them at the end of the season.

The performance 'review' he faced, saw Robinson sacked & Pearson to return from the stands to the touchline

Is a potential 9 game run going to overshadow:

1) **** off & die

2) McArthur (and then Lineker spat)

3) Pr*ck

4) Ostrich (and Pat Murphy)

Add to that a 13 game run with no wins, an 8 game run with no wins, £10m on a bit-part striker etc etc

I am concerned still...

Nah I think he’ll be with us no matter what next season.

I’m pretty sure that if Thai culture regarded Pearson’s off -field antics as disrespectful, he’d be out of a job already.

Far too much is being made of the Thai culture - if they were going to get rid of him because of his behaviour, they'd have done it post Liverpool home or palace. Nonsensical speculation and nothing more to see in the op.

Must admit... i was surprised when he talked about how Newcastle was a fantastic club and how there are still some great people there from when he was working there ( after the newcastle game) ...

I cant help but think that if Newcastle did come knocking in the summer that the Thais might not put up much resistance to him staying... But that would be more linked to the off the field issues than any onfield ones.. maybe.

1) No real problem, a lot of managers came out and spoke in favour of NP over it. It was the club's fault for allowing that kind of behavior in the first place. NP apologised to the people he had to

2) McArthur was nothing, it was a done in jest but not taken as one. NP was in the right over Lineker IMO, MotD was making a mountain out of a molehill, Lineker's tax stuff etc was fair game once Lineker began the public sniping.

3) **** was fair enough, he really was.

4) Ostrich was no problem at all, it was bizarre but he apologised in front of everyone and on camera to the person involved, but helped massively in players preparation for Newcastle win. Pat Murphy thing was bang on, Murphy came in for criticism from his press peers for his line of questioning, NP handled it the way it should be handled.

The runs mean nothing if we stop up in our first season

The player is one for the future, people say we'll see the best of him next season. Chelsea wanted him for the future, QPR checked him out but declined to progress their interest because they wanted immediate impact, not one for the future - What's the problem?

Our transfer related issues saw the DoF sacked for presumably failing to land players NP's team deemed necessary for us to stay up

Whilst we are still going forward he will still be here, the moment we start going backwards under him he would be gone. Thing is that never happens

The way you've phrased that makes it seem as if the manager's behaviour is the primary concern. The results are what any manager will be judged on first, everything else is secondary. It would take something pretty big for a manager to lose his job despite good results.

I'm not concerned at all. The situation at the club is better in every way than it was before.

He'll still be here but they won't want a repeat of the winless runs or winding up reporters. I'd say he's used up a lot of last season's goodwill.

They're a family who always want their businesses to progress so they'll be looking for us to start competing with the Stoke's & Swansea's of the league rather than the deadmen.

They need to invest then & make sure the DoF/board has the ability to land the required management targets. where we finish is as much down to wage budget as it is NP's team-building & management

They will be advised by football people who will probably overlook off-the-field... But then again, the Albrighton thing is weird:

Alienated by NP for his Mrs tweet... City win none of 6 games.

Finally given reprieve by NP... City win 5 out of 6 games!!

Would they think that his personality issues could affect on-the-field too???

if we stay up, i hope he stays, we suffered a bad run, as many teams do in the first prem season, but we were always in it and now we're being rewarded for our efforts, this is NP's team, and he could really build something. i previously called him a ****ing idiot after his press altercations, but i have come around to understand what he did, and i think its helped the team by taking away the focus from them. he knows what he is doing. Kramaric will be massive next season, should we remain a prem team.

If we stay up then he goes I think we will get relegated anyway. Unless the Thais pull off a massive management coop.

Can't see how sticking the manager in a big chicken run is gonna help.

This, Thailand still hasn't got rid of Pattaya, let alone Nigel Pearson.

Convinced he'll stay and will of course be delighted if he does, I can't wait to see the next level that he is going to take us to.  God knows what he could do with a bit of money that the likes of Hull and Sunderland etc have spent.

Perhaps they would think... you know what the bloke has got us from league one to within a couple of games of staying up, I might leave this football management lark to him.

It's a good point. Me & my mate were discussing this on Saturday, at what point does the wage structure change? £35K tops is fairly restrictive wages wise especially after the new deal kicks in. Players will want a lot more as a basic and if we're going to compete with the mid table clubs for players, we have to compete financially not just in league position, facilities and fanbase. There's no reason that Pearson can't do the same as a Garry Monk or Mark Hughes but he does need help from the guys at the top.

What did albrighton misses do then - what was the tweet ?

Nugent Mrs said on Twitter that she was gutted when NP was "sacked".

Albrighton Mrs replied "I'm not!!!!!!!"

Assuming/Hoping we stay up, there's no logic whatsoever to getting rid, will go down as one of the great achievements of any LCFC manager.

With what the players and management team have learned from this season, added to a (hopefully) larger transfer budget, I would expect us to have a positive season, a manager sacking plus another squad overhaul would be most illogical.

Cheers guys...

So, IF we get relegated... Is he sacked on the spot? Failure to meet the target set along with all this off-the-field stuff?

Come on Stringer. Surely you can populate the Monday moan in with better content than fishing on a forum?
