Tielemans63 Posted 16 May 2015 Posted 16 May 2015 Big up to Top OR Vichai for keeping him in charge. Fixed.
Arriba Los Zorros Posted 16 May 2015 Posted 16 May 2015 Never doubted him, and only felt we would go down for one weekend (after 0-0 v Hull) I hope people learn from this to not turn on Nige during hard times, as there will be hard times to come during his tenure! He has the potential to surpass MON, that's for sure
MooseBreath Posted 16 May 2015 Posted 16 May 2015 Not to piss on such a glorious bonfire but it was pearson's fault that we were in such a crap situation just as much as he can take the credit for the turnaround. We've narrowly escaped relegation, which is a good performance. Good but not great. Let's hope we get our signings right this summer and push on next season.
Scotch Posted 16 May 2015 Posted 16 May 2015 Admittedly,I doubted him at points this season. I wanted him replaced at Xmas, like many others. I was an Ostrich and I was wrong! Well done Nige! You are the man! Also, big props has to be given to the powers that be at the club for not bagging him. So many chairman would have and you could see why, when you look at the clubs around us who have sacked their manager, it feels good to see loyalty paying off!
Mike Oxlong Posted 16 May 2015 Posted 16 May 2015 I wanted him out after the Villa game but don't feel a need to apologise. It was a rational point of view at that time as I felt he had not learnt from his mistakes. I still think he stumbled into the successful formula at the point when draws were no longer good enough and wins were required. Without doubt he has retained the support of the players throughout and the recent run has been phenomenal. Really hope we can kick on next season under Nigel and that we do so by playing to our strengths more than worrying about what other teams might do. It's going to be a great night!
I am Rod Hull Posted 16 May 2015 Posted 16 May 2015 Think like most other people on here, there were times this season where I had doubts about Nige, but I loved the bloke too much to ever call for him to be sacked. Well done to the owners who had the bollocks to keep him here and well done to Nige for doing what many of us thought was impossible. What a couple of months we've had, never been more proud of the boys.
bovril Posted 16 May 2015 Posted 16 May 2015 No need to "apologise" for having an opinion for fvck sake, it's only a football forum. Just go and enjoy the evening.
weller54 Posted 16 May 2015 Posted 16 May 2015 I was anti Pearson too after that terrible run and some unbelievable team selections/ substitutions... He had seemed to have totally lost the plot!.... But, we've stayed up.. God (or Rachel) knows how!!... Huth was the difference I think, he stabilised the shaky defence and gave Morgan the confidence he needed.. Pearson signed Huth, so he's got to take all the credit for turning things around.. Congratulations to him, his staff and our amazing team!

shailen Posted 16 May 2015 Posted 16 May 2015 I am a Pearsonite. I backed him only because we have looked good the whole season, apart from that 11 game run. We were terrible in that period but ever since we have looked good almost in every game. I've always said sack the manager if we don't look good, and that hasn't been the case for the majority of the season. We have a special group here and I reckon that we could be in for the best period in our history
KP Fox Posted 16 May 2015 Posted 16 May 2015 Congratulations to Nigel and the boys. You have a great team spirit. Thanks for keeping our wonderful club where we belong! Foxes never quit! - We are Premier League!

weller54 Posted 16 May 2015 Posted 16 May 2015 Wtf.. My post is repeated numerous times!!!!... Hope you got the gist!!
Lionheart Posted 16 May 2015 Posted 16 May 2015 I learned my lesson the season before we won the Championship I wanted him gone in that poor run before we managed to get into play offs.I have stuck by him this year because I really believe he is someone who has to learn the hard way but once he has he gets it right,so we should fly next season!
oohaahmustafa Posted 16 May 2015 Posted 16 May 2015 All Pearson out people should be forced to wear badges next season so they can be identified.
lcfc81 Posted 16 May 2015 Posted 16 May 2015 Really is no need for anyone to appologise, Anyone who hasn't said anything daft about football hasn't talked about football! (and to be fair at the time it wasn't that daft) its not a day for the told you so's. The fact is we all love our club. In fact I remember when i adamantly argued Morrison was a better player than Hobbs on here!
Sickfox Posted 16 May 2015 Posted 16 May 2015 Fair play lads.. I despaired when the hating began, I saw your point but hated the negativity. To come on here and apologise takes guts. Fair play.
Matt Posted 16 May 2015 Posted 16 May 2015 I never wanted Pearson out but was of the opinion at one stage where I wasn't really fussed if he stayed or got sacked, but I couldn't actually get the words 'I want him sacked' out because I really do like that bloke and think he's been amazing for us but that blip and some decisions this season did make me question him. I thank and apologise to the players I have slagged of this season and am more than happy (And I said I would be if they proved me wrong) that they proved me wrong! I didn't slag them off because I want too, because I enjoy doing it, of course I don't, I don't wanna be pissed off but the simple fact was that they did things wrong, everyone makes mistakes but at the time it seemed they weren't learning from the mistakes and I say it as I see it, if they're poor i'll note it, if they do something well then again i'll praise them, in the last month or two they have improved no end and proved me wrong, they really have, can't fault them! Brilliant!

Guest Col city fan Posted 16 May 2015 Posted 16 May 2015 Why we have stayed up is because Nigel Pearson finally 'learnt'. We were never really tonked in games and could have easily won some of those we lost. But two factors have prevailed for me. Firstly, we tightened up the back four with the acquisition of Rob Huth. Don't underestimate the influence this has had on the rest of the players. They all look more assured and composed, knowing that we can finally defend properly. Secondly, the formation change. We got an extra body in midfield, we played lads like Schlupp in the correct way. The one thing that has really impressed me though is the desire of the players to keep playing for Nigel Pearson. Having personalities in the side like Cambiasso must have massively helped in this respect. If the players saw players like him still trying for the club, that would give the motivation to do so also. Well done Pearson and the players. Again you have turned it around...it took a long time but it shows you have learnt how to play in this division. Hats off to you all. Now let's really kick on and put this great club firmly back in the limelight. A GREAT day for LCFC......
DB11 Posted 16 May 2015 Posted 16 May 2015 [smug Mode] Never doubted him. Always said we should stick with him as he has proved that he will come good and improve with experience and learning. [/smug Mode]
RowlattsFox Posted 16 May 2015 Posted 16 May 2015 If anyone says they kept the faith after the hull game they are almost definitely lying. Whats happened since has been amazing and you couldn't have expected it. Nigel's record as a manager is fantastic.
