Bettsj2 Posted 16 May 2015 Posted 16 May 2015 It wasn't justified at the time. You and many others were looking at the short term, as people did in the Watford season and as about 50% were saying at the time that is a stupid method for assessing football managers. You don't have to apologise if you don't want to, but I don't think it's at all unreasonable for the people who were saying it all along, to suggest that you were wrong. It isnt a time for arguing. We're all happy and shouldnt sour that. I have to say though that It wasnt short term thinking those who had wanted him out. He'd had 2 and a half years to build a side thaf was capable of competing in the Prem and at that point, it looked like he hadnt. The last 8 games have shown what we can do when we have an experienced centre back, quality out wide and a formation that makes sense. 3 things that the 'out' brigade were all calling for consistently. I and many others have held their hands up and said the right decision was to keep him, but we shouldnt pretend that there was no justification for criticism. But again, please instead of thread after thread of demands for apologies, lets enjoy the evening and celebrate a truly remarkable escape.
Larry_LCFC Posted 16 May 2015 Posted 16 May 2015 You are entitled to your opinion, even if it is wrong. How can an opinion be wrong? So many idiots on this forum.
Strokes Posted 16 May 2015 Posted 16 May 2015 How can an opinion be wrong? So many idiots on this forum.I think the world is flat, am I right?
Phube Posted 16 May 2015 Posted 16 May 2015 How can an opinion be wrong? So many idiots on this forum. "In my opinion the world is flat and the sun goes around it" Is my opinion right or wrong? I think the world is flat, am I right? even the same example!
Strokes Posted 16 May 2015 Posted 16 May 2015 "In my opinion the world is flat and the sun goes around it" Is my opinion right or wrong? Me first.
Dr The Singh Posted 16 May 2015 Posted 16 May 2015 "In my opinion the world is flat and the sun goes around it" Is my opinion right or wrong? Wrong, but your entitled to it!!! "In my opinion the world is flat and the sun goes around it" Is my opinion right or wrong? even the same example! I'm sure your Rincy's love child, Phube!!!
bovril Posted 16 May 2015 Posted 16 May 2015 "In my opinion the world is flat and the sun goes around it" Is my opinion right or wrong? even the same example! Don't know where you went to school mate but the world isn't flat or you'd fall off the end.
Larry_LCFC Posted 16 May 2015 Posted 16 May 2015 "In my opinion the world is flat and the sun goes around it" Is my opinion right or wrong? even the same example! Facts say otherwise though. Hardly the same thing is it?
Strokes Posted 16 May 2015 Posted 16 May 2015 Don't know where you went to school mate but the world isn't flat or you'd fall off the end. Is that what happened to Sergio hellings?
Manwell Pablo Posted 16 May 2015 Posted 16 May 2015 Facts say otherwise though. Hardly the same thing is it? We're safe with a home game against bottom of the table QPR to come. So yes it is exactly the same thing.
foxes_rule1978 Posted 16 May 2015 Posted 16 May 2015 Is that what happened to Sergio hellings? and leon crncic
bovril Posted 16 May 2015 Posted 16 May 2015 Is that what happened to Sergio hellings? Nah, he fell over at Forest and nobody was around to hear it.
Larry_LCFC Posted 16 May 2015 Posted 16 May 2015 We're safe with a home game against bottom of the table QPR to come. So yes it is exactly the same thing. It really isn't. Football isn't just about surviving at the end of season you know. Nobody is calling for Pearsons head right now. If they were, you would have a point. The period we are referring to is months ago where we didn't win for 13 games and got 19 points from 72. They are the facts. They are the reason people wanted him gone at that time.
Guest Col city fan Posted 16 May 2015 Posted 16 May 2015 ... and sorry? Only kidding Col, what a day. And hats off to you bud. You got it right AGAIN...

As it's been pointed out you had your opinion at the time and it's turned out to be totally unfounded in the long run. Very similar to the earth being flat infact. Total respect for the original poster, The people who use the "I was right at the time" and the "we've changed things to what I suggested" when that's about as far from the truth as possible are the ones that make me laugh.
Carl the Llama Posted 16 May 2015 Posted 16 May 2015 Never wanted Nigel out, but like pretty much everyone I was sure we'd be the first to be relegated. Fair play to all the lads coming out with their hands up, it takes courage to do that, as proven by the embarrassments saying "let's not argue now", or "I was right to think so" when they were very keen to argue back then and they most certainly were not right to think so on the final evidence. But I digress, what a day to be a City fan, let's all enjoy it.
sylofox Posted 16 May 2015 Posted 16 May 2015 What an unbelievable achievement, what a season and what a manager. I was one of those morons calling for Nigel's head earlier on in the year and for that I apologize, and I was wrong. I think a lot of us lost our heads, he turned it round and deserves all the plaudits. Really struggling to find the words to describe it really. Big up for you admitting it. I did not and not trying to make you look small just a shame so many give up on us so easy and Nige. Said it many times look at last years boro away thread (first game of the season). All done now onwards and upwards. Great day lets just party
Larry_LCFC Posted 16 May 2015 Posted 16 May 2015 there were two opinions back then, polar opposites, some wanted to keep Nigel Pearson, some didn't. Who was right? Why does anybody have to be right. People view the game differently, people have different perspectives. Some people find things acceptable, some people don't. I found his stubbornness in refusing to change things up, and subsequent consistent losses unacceptable. Why people find the need to persist with this my cock is bigger than your cock, I was right you were wrong nonsense is beyond me. Enjoy the night as one and stop with the finger pointing. It's pathetic.
dedlock Posted 16 May 2015 Posted 16 May 2015 I was pleased Pearson joined in div3(old school) I was amazed he returned after shabbily being treated after promotion and the playoffs. He then lead us to the playoffs again, folllowed by 100 point plus championshIp champions. We began a challenging start to this season well. What happened then? I was fed up with other supporters saying we played well When all seemed lost we came good.Bloody brilliant.
