Best Value Signings (according to the Telegraph) Guess who's number 1

How's ulloa not on there and pelle is

My thoughts exactly. If it was £10m, then put it into context of double figures in the league and helping us to stay in the league. Snip at that price for us.

Esterban deservedly number 1.

I feel privileged to have seen this man in a Leicester shirt.

If we had Huth from the start of the season, he would surely have got in the top ten as well.

It's us. Again.

Chelsea should just do the decent thing and hand over the Premiership trophy to us.

Incidently, how the hell  is Diego Costa @ £32m a 'value' signing?

Me too.

When you think that he’s the same age as Steven Gerrard, and has always been a better player and achieved more in the game.

We’d all been creaming ourselves had we signed Gerrard at the start of the season. But we signed someone better!

And we got him for nowt. Pearson is a God.

Costa 'value' at 32 million!

lol

Well done Esteban. Can the season end any better? Vardy in the England squad and now this.

A model pro, a true gent and has turned out an inspired signing.

I'm not going to say he's been brilliant every match, because I don't think he has (but that's been done to death).

But he's come here and given it his all for the club when he could have come for the pay-check.

Yet another inspired signing by Nigel and I hope we get another season out of him.

If I have to eat humble pie, I will eat humble pie. And with a player like Cambiasso, I'm more than happy to do so.

It's how valuable a singing is for the money spent. Liverpool spent more than that on Carroll, in comparison Costa is superb value for money. Haven't read and I don't know how far up they've put him, but it's not an entirely unreasonable suggestion.

Love how all the big team's star, mega buck purchases are lumped on that list and categorised as good value! Bitter taste turns sweet when Esteban toppled them all though!

Costa 'value' at 32 million!

My sentiments entirely!

Costa was value because 30m is not a great amount these days and he was the missing piece to the puzzle and basically won them the league by about October.

To be fair, he was one of pieces in the jigsaw. Fabregas and the Matic being the others.

32 mill, prefixed by the word 'value' just don't quite compute!

But he's been crucial I must admit

Costa bought for £32m

Lukaku sold for £28m

= value

Not sure I agree re. Lukaku..I simply think it's too soon to judge. He's still young, it was his first season as Everton's record signing and he's playing in an Everton side who are good, but not exceptional. I think there's lots more to come from Lukaku personally and given time, I believe he could become one of the top strikers in the division.

Whether you pay 28 mill for 'potential' is another matter, of course.

He was a great signing, a fantastic bit of business for the club. £32mil's worth of it. But the price doesn't scream value. A value signing is someone signed for a smaller fee that still does a top job at premier league level.

Feel like this argument will be based on people's definition of 'value' anyway. A difference of opinion over a word rather than an actual disagreement on footballing matters.
