The Doctor Posted 12 September 2015 Posted 12 September 2015 Fair suggestion if you set a quota of the bench spaces that have to go to academy players; should at least help stop the stock piling and leaving to rot that some big clubs get up to
Captain... Posted 12 September 2015 Posted 12 September 2015 I see his point but you do have opportunities to blood younger players, you just have to have enough confidence in them to do it.
Fox92 Posted 12 September 2015 Posted 12 September 2015 There's too much pressure, too much to lose, nowadays and managers won't risk young players. There's not point in upping the subs from 7 to 10 (or whatever) just to put a few young players on the bench who won't even get on the pitch.
Captain... Posted 12 September 2015 Posted 12 September 2015 What are you supposed to do? on the one hand its offer big contracts on silly money to make their value go up so you have an asset to sell, on the other hand its dont let their contract run into the last year, then its arsehole players who abuse their contracts by wanting to leave early even though they were perfectly happy 6 months ago, then theres players like Adebayor who are criticised for seeing the rest of the contract out and not wanting to be sold. Everything is a paradox and contracts in football are just a joke. I would have mandatory release clauses in every contract based on length and salary. As a simple equation weeks left on contract x basic weekly wage = buy out clause. If you value a player at your club as worth 50,000 a week and you have agreed to pay that for 2 years then losing him will mean you have lost an asset worth 5.2 million to you so should be compensated for that amount. It means you have to keep players contracts up to date, and to keep them offer them higher wages and players will have to accept if you agree to a higher wage then it will put teams off buying you. You may need to tweak the formula a little bit add an age factor in there or only apply to players over 23. Something like that would help regulate the transfer fees whilst keeping the balance of power more even.

trabuch Posted 12 September 2015 Posted 12 September 2015 Everton are playing some nice football. It's almost like watching Leicester.

FireFox Posted 12 September 2015 Posted 12 September 2015 When was the last time an indirect free kick was given in the PL? It is outrageous that some of these back passes aren't given.
