VLC86 Posted 4 September 2015 Posted 4 September 2015 Liverpool could've had a good go at United this season if they'd strengthened in defence, midfield, attack and management team. Agreed.
Steve_Guppy_Left_Foot Posted 4 September 2015 Posted 4 September 2015 What's the aim for Leicester then, in your opinion? Considering last years last gasp survival, I assume building is the key and you've signed some damned good players, so anything from 15th - 10th? I think the ambition has to be not to be looking over our shoulders with 10-5 games to go. No doubt we will have periods of bad play and bad luck over the year but I do think 10th-15th is a realistic ambition, anything 17th and upwards would be acceptable to me.

Considering last years last gasp survival, I assume building is the key and you've signed some damned good players, so anything from 15th - 10th? To stay up, show progress, ie not spend 5 months at the bottom and remain competitive all season not just 6 weeks either end of it, then let's see where that gets us.
StokeFan Posted 4 September 2015 Posted 4 September 2015 I think 15th upwards is realistic for Leicester. I mean, my word there's some real dog shit teams down at the bottom. Heh, currently we're in it although I think come the end of the season we'll be somewhere around 9th, 10th or 11th. Lot of optimism for Europe on our forums, but I just don't see it myself. However, teams like Bournemouth, Watford and Sunderland are in for a real tough year. West Brom were truly horrific on Saturday. The media are on a bit of a Pulis love-in at the moment (how times have changed eh?) and were saying "the pragmatic Pulis brought on a centre forward to win the game". Trust me, with 9 men, we had them defending for their lives. They were backs to the wall defending. We genuinely could have got a draw. Before the red cards, we were absolutely tearing them to shreds. So I can genuinely see West Brom being down there. Newcastle aren't much good either. West Ham have started ok, but I can't say they'll keep it up, because they won't.
Super_horns Posted 4 September 2015 Posted 4 September 2015 Stoke Fan - Fair enough - I suspect some refs do have an in-built mindset of some teams/managers etc TBH. As for us - well we seem ok in defence and midfield but hopefully these new attacking players will get the goals we need. Not sure why Vydra or Forestieri didn't get any chance to prove themselves though.

Pretty sure he was our property until we stupidly sold him on.
RedSoxUK Posted 4 September 2015 Posted 4 September 2015 I don't like it but I think Watford will stay up.

HEGGSY Posted 4 September 2015 Posted 4 September 2015 If one of Sunderland or Villa don't go down, I'd be inclined to feel they never will
Danno Posted 4 September 2015 Posted 4 September 2015 I always forget Norwich are in the premier league again now. How depressing.
Guest Posted 4 September 2015 Posted 4 September 2015 would like Villa to go down but imagine they'll be a couple of places above relegation.
purpleronnie Posted 4 September 2015 Posted 4 September 2015 I always forget Norwich are in the premier league again now. How depressing. I think that's why a lot of people didn't nominate them for relegation, they just forgot they were in it.

Guest Papasmurf Posted 4 September 2015 Posted 4 September 2015 I always forget Norwich are in the premier league again now. How depressing. How's it depressing? New manager has come in and taken them up playing decent football. Good luck to them.
StokeFan Posted 4 September 2015 Posted 4 September 2015 Huth signed for us pal. I know.... gone right over your head that has.
HighPeakFox Posted 4 September 2015 Posted 4 September 2015 I know.... gone right over your head that has. Oh dear, how embarrassing

Soar Fox Posted 4 September 2015 Posted 4 September 2015 I know.... gone right over your head that has. What German defender did you sell to Watford then?
Guest Posted 5 September 2015 Posted 5 September 2015 What German defender did you sell to Watford then? they haven't, he was being funny.

Improve on last year and continue to build
UPinCarolina Posted 5 September 2015 Posted 5 September 2015 I see no reason why we can't finish mid-table or even crack the top 10 in our current form.
purpleronnie Posted 5 September 2015 Posted 5 September 2015 I see no reason why we can't finish mid-table or even crack the top 10 in our current form. **** that, Champions league or bust!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
st albans fox Posted 5 September 2015 Posted 5 September 2015 Thinking about west brom, how happy would you be as the manager, given that you expected to sell your striker, had signed one new front man and were expecting to bring in another and a winger from the same club before the window shut ...............
