There will definitely be some carefully worded statement that (true or not) leads many fans to believe Ranieri was a big part in the re-signing.Both parties need to agree the wording. The PR impact of the 2 together is huge and will lead many a fan to accept Ranieri. Some will take more convincing but that picture will stick in their mind. (This would also answer the reason for the Federico tweet as thunder is being stolen) If there is no announcement over the weekend and he isn't in pre-season next week but does eventually sign just before season start, he will have slipped a few notches down my 'Man-love-O'meter only because I always saw him as 'A Great' And in my book, to be 'A Great' you must be everything I think he is.........A 'team guy' that motivates and sticks by the lads through thick and thin, and hence think he should go through the shite that is pre-season and fight for his place along with the rest of them. For those who say - why wouldn't he hold out / miss pre-season, he can go anywhere he chooses.... I totally agree too but that just makes him 'human'. To me he is more than that right now, I've known few people like him and yes I will be disappointed to find out he I merely human like the rest of us Pre season training won't be a factor in why he hasn't signed yet. He could easily just have signed and agreed to start on 23rd July, for example. A club like ours, with the sports science element, wouldn't have Cambi doing massive amounts of running in comparison to the younger lads. They'd give him the best workout to get the maximum out all season. It'd be silly for him to rush in and sign, especially with the new manager coming in, purely for him to do pre season. It's also naive to expect him to do that.

Fourth Official and Qwerty have confirmed a signing and tbh I trust these people more, they rarely and I do mean rarely put a step wrong.

st albans fox Posted 17 July 2015 Posted 17 July 2015 given the choice between a season in Istanbul with besiktas and a season here with us, I expect he would choose a different experience. Istanbul is a hell of a place to play. I assume they have European football aswell. And I expect he would get a bigger salary there though I don't think that's the really important stuff. it all depends if he is 'buying into' the other things querty was on about. He may decide he doesn't need to get involved so emotionally with a club and will break his ties now. If he stays here, it's probably for the long term.

They are even still offering odds on Benteke to Liverpool despite that being widely reported to be done today. Hopefully it is just a case of the owners telling his agent that he isn't allowed to leak anything until CR is back. Cambiasso will then do an interview saying how the appointment of CR played a huge part in him resigning. Hopefully.....
