So some disturbed teenager knifes people, and the Met swarm London with armed police.  Over reaction much?

Well he did more damage than the "IS" related incident in Rouen so probably not.

Not concerned about last night, but the Met chief comes out this morning and says we will see larger than normal number of armed police around, but this is not connected to any threat, just to make us feel better.  It will achieved the opposite, which is no doubt the point when you are a police chief who wants more money to created a domestic ****ing army.

It's alleged that he had links with far-right extremists, but it's unclear whether they were involved in it in some way.

It does, considering there's been no major attack here in the UK for quite a while now, seem the UK national security service is doing a strong persistent job in foiling/investigating potential plots and recent incidents such as the numerous London city stabbing occurrences appear just gang-related etc issues.

But with social media being heavily criticised as a hiding place for the vulnerable (those who are against certain members or groups of society) to be morebingrained in their extremist beliefs etc, the threat of something bad being planned behind a computer screen and actually executed is likely to be as high as ever unfortunately.

Don't be fooled either, the threats are still there however more police resources have been diverted to counter terrorism, which can explain why other violent crime on the whole in London is on the rise.

Maybe the threat just isn't that high to begin with. Though I'm sure that won't stop the froth from forming next time we do get one.

Is it wrong to be mildly amused that French police shot the attacker while he was having a heart attack?

Don't agree, the scum deserved to be shot, heart attack, or no heart attack.

No they should have given him no assistance and let him die slowly from his heart attack. A bullet was way way to quick for that scum.

More attacks occur during Ramadan as well. So we'll know more over the next month or so.

Let's not forget we've pretty much wiped ISIS off the map as well. Which surely lowers the threat.

Another huge positive of the Trump administration.

A temporary lull in that respect is perhaps the best we can hope for considering the US and others basically wiped everything including huge numbers of totally innocent people off the map in IS controlled areas, which surely provides another generation with all the propaganda they need to perpetuate the problems over there.

The threat to the UK will however remain minimal, as has always been the case. I'm just as concerned by increasing far/alt-right incel terrorism as I am by Islamic terrorism given recent events.
