Bagworthblue Posted 1 July 2015 Posted 1 July 2015 So in my view, it is pointless to carry on activity until a new gaffer is in place but if we take too long we risk not being prepared and ready for the new season. so will we carry on as planned or wait for the new gaffer. The latter sounds the only feasible way to go but then this increases the urgency to get a new man in to start to turn what he has into what he wants and will anyone come without knowing who the next boss is? assume more time will be spent on the LCFC forum rather than on here until we have a new manager in place.
Bagworthblue Posted 1 July 2015 Author Posted 1 July 2015 i'm just trying to keep the transfer thread alive with summat we can talk about rather than just who we want all the time and I daren't go in the Cambiasso thread in case it reports he's gone to Villa and if that happens I wan to remain blissfully ignorant for as long as possible
Guest Cujek Posted 2 July 2015 Posted 2 July 2015 Well transfers may have to take a back seat, seeing as the dof will now have to start going through applications then interviewing for a new bloody manager.
Hack Posted 2 July 2015 Posted 2 July 2015 Depends on Walsh's activities. Is he staying? No contracts will be offered to anyone until a manager is in place to approve. Style of play of the new manager and review of current roster will come first, but I am sure there is a pipeline of players that the management have ready to review for the new gaffer. I am sure the new gaffer will bring a list of his own to be considered!!
st albans fox Posted 2 July 2015 Posted 2 July 2015 Makes you wonder if the intended recruitment is over (as far as Pearso's wish list is concerned) Whether that means EC has agreed to stay or not is open to conjecture and there may also be deals we don't know about in place.
Captain... Posted 2 July 2015 Posted 2 July 2015 As someone said up there, it depends on Walsh, Shakespeare and Rudkin, if they have been told their jobs are safe then they will carry on with recruitment, likewise if they are committed to staying at Leicester, if this wasn't a footballing decision then there is no reason to sack anyone else, but it will make it harder without a manager to recruit players but not impossible if they see a stable environment only missing a figure head then they might not see it as such an issue. I really think a statement from the club is needed to clarify the position of Walsh and Shakespeare and if they are just looking for a manager or if they will consider a manager who wants to bring his backroom team. MON always had Robertson, but now they have parted ways. Allardyce has a semi regular number 2 with Neil McDonald, but he has now been appointed Blackpool boss, so Big Sam, if approached wouldn't be coming with his backroom staff. Laudrup doesn't seem to come with a backroom team. Lennon on the other hand might want to keep Mjallby who was with him at Celtic and Bolton. Cambiasso obviously has no team he would want to bring in. I'm not really considering others as options. I think in terms of continuity we need to make it clear that we will be continuing on the path we started and with the footballing approach and wage structure set in place last season, but also the dedication to sport science and building up the academy and facilities and any incoming manager must work with that.

Livid Posted 2 July 2015 Posted 2 July 2015 They don't need to spend too long making the decision as we are crying out for a couple of midfielders.

Agreed, at the moment we are lining up with King and Drinkwater and no backup. Whilst I like them both I don't think they work well together. Midfield recruitment a must and PDQ!

Why? Most managers bring in trusted allies. I am sure Cambiasso has many with his years in the game.

indierich06 Posted 2 July 2015 Posted 2 July 2015 This decision to sack Pearson is looking worse and worse by the minute.
Captain... Posted 2 July 2015 Posted 2 July 2015 Why? Most managers bring in trusted allies. I am sure Cambiasso has many with his years in the game. I'm sure he does, but he will not come as a package, like MON and Robertson, Clough and Taylor, Little and Gregory, Lennon and Mjallberg, he would be offered the job, probably as player manager working with Shakespeare, Walsh, etc who know the club inside out and also have worked with him and wouldn't need any input on the day to day running of the club, it would be the easiest transition into management you could want. I doubt he would want to bring in his own men immediately, possibly long term, but not straight away. I also doubt he will be our player, let alone our manager, but stranger things have happened. The point really was about securing the future of Shakespeare, Walsh etc would help with securing transfers. Has Shakespeare even been announced as caretaker or anything?
lgfualol Posted 2 July 2015 Posted 2 July 2015 Going to be interesting to see who comes in and what happens. Will whoever it is rate our players or will we see players that Nigel got the best out of suddenly unwanted? I hope not. I hope whoever it is is given enough time to do something. We can't go into the season with King & Drinkwater as centre mids
les-tah Posted 2 July 2015 Posted 2 July 2015 Everyone is making some pretty impressive midfield signing around us...
AyewJoking Posted 2 July 2015 Posted 2 July 2015 at this rate we will panic buy someone like Joey Barton on 50k per week
J.Lisemore Posted 2 July 2015 Posted 2 July 2015 This decision to sack Pearson is looking worse and worse by the minute. Was just thinking this myself, it went from... Stable - signing and linked to some quality improvements - expecting Esteban to sign To Sack our manager - linked now only with degrading replacements - Esteban won't sign. And the biggest thing of all is, we're wasting time, which causes panic, which leads to failure.
Bluearmy 316 Posted 2 July 2015 Posted 2 July 2015 Bad bad move if we go down the owners have brought this on themselves. From can't waiting for the season to start to not looking forward to it in a few days.
simon789us Posted 2 July 2015 Posted 2 July 2015 im sure we wont be signing any more players until the new boss is in charge with the possible exception of cambiasso as we only have a few more spots available for the 25 man squad im sure the new man whoever it may be ( hopefully klopp ) will want to bring in a few of his own signings.
Bagworthblue Posted 2 July 2015 Author Posted 2 July 2015 really hope this thread can be closed asap with Guus at the helm
Fox 4 Life Posted 3 July 2015 Posted 3 July 2015 Think that is a big fat no to transfer activity suspended
Bagworthblue Posted 3 July 2015 Author Posted 3 July 2015 they've probably done it on the basis they knew they'd have a manager in place before they get to the point of closing the deal with the player
lcfcbobby Posted 8 July 2015 Posted 8 July 2015 in my personal opinion I think we will end up signing a new manager too late and a lot of our seasons transfers will be done in january
