fuchsntf Posted 15 July 2015 Posted 15 July 2015 Thanks for the contribution so far, it's been great! Attempting to narrow it down is a hard task but at least it is taking my mind off the managerial situation! In response to questions about greatest/best players, I was mainly looking for the players who weren't necessarily the best technically but those who are held in high regard by fans because of the impact they had upon the club, but other player suggestions are most welcome .So if anybody has anymore 'nominations', feel free to suggest them. I will probably conduct a poll in the next week or so to get a definitive order. Cheers again, keep an eye out for the article soon! impact..Weller, Chris Garland, Huth, Worthington, D.Gibson, Vardy.
enmac Posted 15 July 2015 Posted 15 July 2015 Forgot Chris Garland! Saved us form relegation? Sent from my BNTV600 using Tapatalk

st albans fox Posted 16 July 2015 Posted 16 July 2015 Sep Smith Chandler Rowley Banks Shilton Nish Gibson CrossWeller Worthington Lineker Izzet Walsh Claridge (bolded the real 'greats') I guess a test would be to discuss great players with other clubs supporters and see their response to ours. Few would rate cross, Walshy or izzet as highly as we would but they would certainly do banks, Shilts, Keith, frank, linkeker and Gary mac and of course EC. But the title is vague and 'greatest' has a wide definition.
DEMANN Posted 16 July 2015 Posted 16 July 2015 Alan Smith never comes up in these lists....He was a great player for Leicester.
Alf Bentley Posted 16 July 2015 Posted 16 July 2015 Tell me more, tell me more. No +1 for you, Webbo, as you missed out the "Ooooh!"
demon_dog Posted 16 July 2015 Posted 16 July 2015 Rowley Chandler Weller Worthington Shilton Banks Izzet Lennon Lineker Cambiasso Can't argue with this, however I think Davie Gibson should be included. For me Cambiasso the best I have ever seen for City.
pleatout Posted 16 July 2015 Posted 16 July 2015 Only played a few games but Laurie Cunningham was class. Paul Ramsey wasn't the most skillfull player but never gave less than everything, even when he was having a 'mare.
Sampson Posted 16 July 2015 Posted 16 July 2015 Alan Smith never comes up in these lists....He was a great player for Leicester. I remember the 1985-86 season where we stayed up on GD. I have never seen another Leicester team which has been closer to being a one-man team than that one with Alan Smith. We'd have finished bottom by a mile without him. Ranks right alongside Lineker and Worthington for me as our three best strikers in my time (didn't see Rowley or Chandler) though never gets mentioned as much.
enmac Posted 16 July 2015 Posted 16 July 2015 Just in case he hasn't already been mentioned: Lenny Glover. The first year or 2, he was unstoppable. Strikers: Derek Dougan, "Doog", deserves a mention. Sent from my BNTV600 using Tapatalk
DANGEROUS TIGER Posted 18 July 2015 Posted 18 July 2015 Pretty much this, but I would take out Walsh, and put in Davie Gibson Holy Moses, I missed out Arthur Rowley!
DANGEROUS TIGER Posted 18 July 2015 Posted 18 July 2015 Only played a few games but Laurie Cunningham was class. Paul Ramsey wasn't the most skillfull player but never gave less than everything, even when he was having a 'mare. Poor guy was killed in a car crash.
ROB-THE-BLUE Posted 18 July 2015 Posted 18 July 2015 Only played a few games but Laurie Cunningham was class. Paul Ramsey wasn't the most skillfull player but never gave less than everything, even when he was having a 'mare. I see Rambo quite a bit these days, top bloke and still follows City
dedlock Posted 18 July 2015 Posted 18 July 2015 Blue fox is almost there. I would include the Tank in place of Walsh. Wee Davie G should also qualify but it's difficult to see who could be left out.
Guest Bob Hazels shorts Posted 18 July 2015 Posted 18 July 2015 Stan 'The Can' Coleymore one of the most gifted. ......what could have been?
enmac Posted 18 July 2015 Posted 18 July 2015 Definitely Stan. Also, Allan Clarke? Sent from my BNTV600 using Tapatalk
Wymsey Posted 18 July 2015 Posted 18 July 2015 Probably Steve Walsh (from my lifetime). If I was born in the 60'/70's, probably Frank Worthington (who apparently has slight Alzheimer's now unfortunately).
Blue Ed Posted 19 July 2015 Posted 19 July 2015 Of the players I've watched play Fulop Walsh Elliot Grayson Kaamark Guppy Cambiasso Marhez Izzet Vardy Cottee
