Mikey Posted 21 July 2015 Posted 21 July 2015 Current squad - 18th. Just not enough in centre midfield. A couple of CM's and a right back - 14th.
gurru991 Posted 21 July 2015 Posted 21 July 2015 I think we are going to have a decent year. Obviously we are going to be bringing in more new players still so I think mid table ,, maybe 10,11,12.
4everfox Posted 21 July 2015 Posted 21 July 2015 Unless we sign some quality in the centre of the park we are getting relegated. If we make three or four quality acquisitions then we will stay up fairly comfortably. We MUST sign two central midfielders and a centre back at least. As it stands are we better then three other teams? If so who because I don't know.

Dan Posted 21 July 2015 Posted 21 July 2015 I reckon we'll finish 16th and it'll be a pretty underwhelming season all-round, although it's hard to really argue too much with staying up this year due to the changes.
Dynamogoon Posted 22 July 2015 Posted 22 July 2015 Foxestalk anxiety Love it. Will never change. No idea how some of you guys function from day to day
Raw Dykes Posted 22 July 2015 Posted 22 July 2015 19th I'm usually very optimistic, but I strongly believe our main strength was the spirit and togetherness we had, and Pearson and Cambiasso were the two most important figures holding that together. Without them, I believe this squad is really going to struggle. I think a lot of our players were playing above their ability, and now we're going to see how good they really are. To make up for losing NP and EC, I think we would have to add a lot of quality, and I really don't think we have the time or pulling power to do that in time to avoid the drop. I don't think Ranieri is the right man for the job, despite him making the right noises so far. In many ways, he's the opposite of Pearson, and if his man-management is anywhere near as bad as it was supposed to be at Inter, then I can't see him being here at Christmas. I predict his replacement will be left with too much to do, and I don't trust the owners to find the right man, anyway. It looks very much like Pearson was the anomaly. This is the most pessimistic about the club's future I have ever felt, even through all the 2000's (the decade. Annoys me that it doesn't have a name). I'm sure this is Taylor/Sousa/Sven all over again. I'm bracing myself for a real trainwreck of a season. I hate to be a doommonger, but I feel pretty strongly about this, and I really want to get this written down so I can see how accurate I was this time next year. Let's hope I'm left with ostrich egg on my face.
lgfualol Posted 22 July 2015 Posted 22 July 2015 Dont think our squad is worse than bournemouth, villa, sunderland, norwich & watford so think we can survive. Do you see us getting relegated with Okazaki? No way he is too happy
chrishlcfc Posted 23 July 2015 Posted 23 July 2015 16th. There are quite a few sides who on paper have worse sides than us Villa included.
les-tah Posted 23 July 2015 Posted 23 July 2015 with the current squad17th .... with 2 news centre mids and 1 centre back, 12th
Livid Posted 23 July 2015 Posted 23 July 2015 with the current squad17th .... with 2 news centre mids and 1 centre back, 12th Similar opinion to myself. We need two "quality" central midfielders and a half decent centre back and soon! My optimism for the new season is waining by the day, I honestly can't predict how it's going to go. 12th at best.
AyewJoking Posted 23 July 2015 Posted 23 July 2015 I think we'll be somewhere in the bottom 3 (reverse psychology worked last time)
BoyJones Posted 23 July 2015 Posted 23 July 2015 Not that confident with the close season fiasco we have had, but there does seem to be some poor teams around. Reckon 15th this season, unless we buy some class in midfield, then higher. Perhaps ought to have a sweep on when the clackers/clappers make an appearance!!

I don't understand how you can be more pessimistic now than when we had just been relegated to League One, or was stuck in a rot of consecutive bottom half finishes in the Championship, going nowhere! We have strengthened our squad from last season and will no doubt sign at least 2 or 3 more. We are financially in a decent state and are in the Premier League with a fair chance of staying up again.

The owners have dug their bed, now they've got to lie in it. Unfortunately, so have the rest of us. Hope it's a king size bed, with all the arguments we're going to get involved in. I think Ranieri is a nice guy, but Leicester's not the place for him. I sincerely hope I'm wrong about all this, and we are fortunate enough to escape relegation, which to be fair is what Pearson only just managed to do, but then he had 100% support from all his players, Will Ranieri manage this? I don't think so. 17th, if we're lucky.

"It's not the despair, it's the hope that kills you" - in terminal decline last decade was shite, but we didn't really have any expectations or hope to hold to start each season. We finished last season excellently and I think we were all looking forward to the start of a new golden age this season. Over the past 3 1/2 weeks though it's seemed like the core has rotted - we've lost one of our best ever managers and a player who was a cut above all those around us, let alone the rest of the squad. With our board having a shocking record at appointing successful managers, and no sign of anyone coming in to fill the massive set of empty boots in the middle, I don't see how anyone cannot be more pessimistic than we were in May. 19th if we don't get a couple of centre mids in sharpish - drinkwater, king, Hammond is not good enough to get us through to January.
