SheppyFox Posted 15 August 2015 Posted 15 August 2015 Based on the displays ... drinkwater and king have clearly stepped upI absolutely agree, but Inler is surely a sign of the direction we are heading in as a club, more than anything?
foxes_rule1978 Posted 15 August 2015 Posted 15 August 2015 I absolutely agree, but Inler is surely a sign of the direction we are heading in as a club, more than anything? Indeed, I would love to sign him... but I'm not as concerned about losing out than I was two weeks ago... he would be a great signing, but wouldn't get straight in at the moment.
zak_lcfc Posted 15 August 2015 Posted 15 August 2015 If we get him which I hope we do our midfield options are so solid, when Matty James returns we will have great depth and the ability to adapt to playing 2 or 3 centre mids, King and Drinky look fantastic and Inler will serve to compliment them and provide a calmer more experienced presence Inler and possibly another defender and I think we can say that the club has done more than well this transfer window, strengthened without breaking the bank
thybluefox Posted 15 August 2015 Posted 15 August 2015 Indeed, I would love to sign him... but I'm not as concerned about losing out than I was two weeks ago... he would be a great signing, but wouldn't get straight in at the moment. He wouldn't, but if King & Drinkwater were injured or dropped form then we'd be left looking towards Kante and Hammond currently. Kante I've no worries about, but I can't not worry about reply on Dean for some reason. Any combination of King, Drinkwater, Kante, and Inler would be more than capable of competing in this league.

Oh yeah id be really concerned if he walked into the team mate, really really pleased with Ranieris decision not to just let the new guys walk into the team, got a great feeling about this season! Top 8 IMO! Would like a top notch right back for if we play a flat back 4 though
HoustonFox Posted 15 August 2015 Posted 15 August 2015 If true then great new. Brings a lot of competition for places and based on the positions played, and performances so far, I'd say he will swap in for Kingy. Drinky was immense again today, ran his socks off too.
dedlock Posted 15 August 2015 Posted 15 August 2015 Football is a squad game, particularly in PL.We need 2 quality players for each position. It would be horrendous if another MF suffered a similar injury to MJ but not inconceivable. To become established as a PL side we also need to add quality throughout the squad.

It all depends ultimately on the owners ambition and wealth, if they're serious about getting us into the top 6 we have to ask how many of our current best 11 would still be in the team? If the answer is not many then we have to ask how much are the owners willing to spend to make their ambitions a reality?
dpjfox Posted 15 August 2015 Posted 15 August 2015 he wont be on the bench, apparantly CR has moreorless confirmed the signing postmatch
MPH Posted 15 August 2015 Posted 15 August 2015 I quite imagine ranieri's phone will be ringing off the hook with agents calling, If they have seen those first two games...
weller54 Posted 15 August 2015 Posted 15 August 2015 I quite imagine ranieri's phone will be ringing off the hook with agents calling, If they have seen those first two games... It'll be engaged... Talking to Inler!
Thracian Posted 15 August 2015 Posted 15 August 2015 I absolutely agree, but Inler is surely a sign of the direction we are heading in as a club, more than anything? Players "stepping up" doesn't surprise me. At the beginning of last season I said King's ability to pass might well benefit from his having better players around him and more first or second touch options available to him. I was surprised Drinkwater's form took a dip bt, just like Vardy and Schlupp, some people take more time to adjust than others and early indications are that Drinkwater has started to cope. It's quite laughable that some people blandly talk about how many of our squad members aren't really good enough for the top six. I agree the squad needs strengthening - it always will - but some people relish the chance and challenge of reaching new peaks and the results speak for themselves to some extent. We won promotion by a distance with many of our current players. Yes, we took time to adapt to The Premiership but we have the best points record in the from the beginning of April onwards and you don't win that many points by being lucky and having lousy players. The spirit of our squad in another gigantic plus but I commented to my son, Ross, that some of our football against Sunderland was as good as the best i'd seen even in the Gillies days when Leicester City also topped the First Division, reached two Cup Finals and might well have won the double but for our injuries and too small a squad. Just because the likes of Vardy, Mahrez, King, Drinkwater, Schlupp aren't necessarily the Premiership's most fashionable footballers doesn't hide the fact that they've helped us take a lot of footballing scalps and, latterly, with a certain amount of style as well on many occasions. Competition is good for our club and our players. The more quality footballers we have on the training ground the further anyone with the right attitude and determination can go. But right now it is worth remembering that our somewhat uncelebrated and sometimes under-rated squad is top of the league and, as far as I'm concerned they've earned it, Yes, the season is only two games old but we've beaten the teams put in front of us and continued adding more points to our wonderful record at the end of last season. Not good enough for the top six? They're leading the top six and the question now is whether they can stay there. Already the team looks stronger than it was even in April and May and there's every prospect of it being strengthened still further. Any team as good as or better than the Gillies team of the early 60s will respect all but fear no-one.

To cut that a little short, we can stay there if we play sunderland and west ham every week do you think our squad is capable of achieving europa league?
McFoxy Posted 15 August 2015 Posted 15 August 2015 To cut that a little short, we can stay there if we play sunderland and west ham every week do you think our squad is capable of achieving europa league? These games are markers. Sunderland was a barometer for how we will perform in a relegation struggle.West Ham is a marker for can we take on the mid table. Next week we have spurs. If we can take them on and turn them over, the next target would be one of the big 4 Little steps and all of that. These results give me confidence that we are continuing where we left off last season, but we're a million miles from the end of thisseason. When we hit the inevitable trough, we will be looking for the strength in depth and strong leaders to step forward
weller54 Posted 15 August 2015 Posted 15 August 2015 To cut that a little short, we can stay there if we play sunderland and west ham every week do you think our squad is capable of achieving europa league? Don't forget people were raving about West Ham after winning (convincingly) at Arsenal last week... Let's not underestimate the magnificent 3 pts we picked up today against them.. Not many teams will go there and win this season.
EGBFitness Posted 15 August 2015 Posted 15 August 2015 To cut that a little short, we can stay there if we play sunderland and west ham every week do you think our squad is capable of achieving europa league? I think so, our form speaks for itself. Our team spirit and commitment is incredible. Yes we needs few quality players to add, having wise heads with experience such as Huth has made a massive difference for us and has made our team a lot stronger. Inler would be a great addition
Rincewind Posted 15 August 2015 Posted 15 August 2015 When players like king and DD are performing even Chelseas top players woul be left on th E bench. Can only be good.
Hack Posted 15 August 2015 Posted 15 August 2015 Kante hasn't earned himself a starting spot yet, but obviously has a deal of quality. Probably a classier player than both King or DD but is obviously not going to be allowed to claim an 'automatic' spot. Inler too, is probably far classier than what we have, but so long as Danny & Andy keep producing, he'll have no right to an automatic starting berth.....A good thing, shows how far we've progressed these last 5 years! This is spot on. Even if at times you may have players with more skill or class does not mean you disrupt a team performing as well as ours is. This is not a computer game this is real and dealing with team spirit and confidence. We have a great experienced manager who knows what is involved in maintaining the balance of the team. It is imperative that we bring in the best players possible to strengthen the overall team. But no matter who you are you have to earn your place. Those that are putting in the performances also deserve to keep their place until they don't. No one will just walk into the side while we are playing the way we are and performing in a winning way. How great is it knowing that even with the players we have we are winning and know that the owners and management are still going to make us stronger. Inler will make us better, but he won't as Kante just take a starting spot, King and Drinkwater are earning their starting roles!!
Bob Weasel Fox Posted 15 August 2015 Posted 15 August 2015 Inler name of Christ just make your mind up . . . . .
gerrytaggart Posted 15 August 2015 Posted 15 August 2015 How many weeks do we have to sit in total domination at the top of the biggest league in world football before this fella gets the message?!
dbtcity Posted 15 August 2015 Posted 15 August 2015 But can he do it on a cold Tuesday night in Bury.... I have a feeling we will soon find out
