4everfox Posted 16 August 2015 Posted 16 August 2015 He wouldn't play anyway judging by the form of King and Drinkwater.
Master Fox Posted 16 August 2015 Posted 16 August 2015 He'll be a brilliant addition to our team. Anyone saying otherwise is a pleb.
Fox 4 Life Posted 16 August 2015 Posted 16 August 2015 We will not win every game and we will go through a rough patch. This is the time that players like Inler (and cambiasso) step up and show their class/experience. Drinky and King are playing out of their skin but we can't rely on that for 36 more games.
Finnegan Posted 16 August 2015 Posted 16 August 2015 He'll be a brilliant addition to our team. Anyone saying otherwise is a pleb. This. Even if he sat on the bench for the first few games, what happens if King or Drinkwater (apparently the new Xavi and Iniesta, according to foxestalk) gets a knock? We're criminally under staffed in the middle of the park and if anyone thinks otherwise just because we've beaten two shit teams they're going to have a very serious reality check when someone tidy shows us up.
Tuna Posted 16 August 2015 Posted 16 August 2015 He wouldn't play anyway judging by the form of King and Drinkwater. Absolute nonsense.

Couldn't agree more apart from the 2 shite teams bit. West Ham are and were yesterday in a different class to Sunderland and it could have easily have been different the pressure they put on in the second half. And after next weeks game, if Inler comes he'll start - irrespective of Xavi and Iniesta's achievements.

A bit harsh on West Ham, they could finish top half this season, Payet looks class for them. People underestimate them after their reserves got knocked out of the Europa league... I thought an away win was a fantastic result, would have taken a draw beforehand. Agree with the rest of your points though.
Foxhateram Posted 16 August 2015 Posted 16 August 2015 Kante hasn't earned himself a starting spot yet, but obviously has a deal of quality. Probably a classier player than both King or DD but is obviously not going to be allowed to claim an 'automatic' spot. Inler too, is probably far classier than what we have, but so long as Danny & Andy keep producing, he'll have no right to an automatic starting berth.....A good thing, shows how far we've progressed these last 5 years! I don't understand how/why people are concluding that kante and inler are a classier type of player. Is it because they are big names in foreign leagues? If drinky went to bundesliga and did well would we want him back to replace our less classy Andy King? Our players proved at the tail end of last season that they are more than good enough to compete with any side in this league. What more do they need to do to earn people's respect? I swear we could finish top of the table and people will still want some foreign name in the team over players who have proved themselves here. I can hear them now. A few years time... "To consolidate we must replace Albrighton with (aging) Ronaldo because he is a classier player."
Nick Posted 16 August 2015 Posted 16 August 2015 Kante will have to fight for a starting place, yes. Sorry but Inler is different gravy.

If you suddenly think King and Drinkwater are world beaters then you need to have a word with yourself! Drinkwater was not getting into a team that was cut adrift at the bottom of the Premier League last season! You are trying to compare him with an international captain playing for a top 5 Serie A team! Yes he has had two good games, but that doesn't make him a world beater. With your logic we wouldn't have played Cambiasso last season because King and Hammond were doing a very good job in the first few matches.

"To consolidate we must replace Albrighton with (aging) Ronaldo because he is a classier player." Oh, cut it for ***** sake! Kanté couldn't have been a big name in a foreign league in the first place - he's been touted as a big talent and a player with a great engine, but he played at bloody Stade Malherbe Caen. Inler is a two-time WC participant with a good national side and who has made himself a name in Serie A with a Top Four team. The last time an English player tried his luck in the Bundesliga, he ended up at Hamburger SV and almost went down with them (in case you're wondering, it's Michael Mancienne). There'll never be a decent English player leaving for the Bundesliga in the near future as long as he can still earn almost double of the salary back in the Premier League. Also, English players fear changing their surroundings at home - this is proven by the small number of "exports" to other leagues over the past few years. We've won our first two games this season and that's fantastic - ultimately, we won't face easy or less difficult opposition all the time and for the tough fixtures, we need more experience in midfield. You won't get that talent for cheap in the Premier League, so clubs are forced to seek their fortune elsewhere.

"To consolidate we must replace Albrighton with (aging) Ronaldo because he is a classier player." I think you're over exaggerating just a bit, to say Inler is a classier player than either King or Drinkwater would be fair regardless of nationality, you're comparing a player who has Champions and Europa league experience and who captains his national team with two players who have one years top flight experience and that played bit part roles for most of last season, it's great to see King and Drinky playing as they are but to say Drinky has proved himself in this league is nonsense he's had a great start to the season but last year he looked a shadow of himself from our promotion season. We need depth in the midfield as I suspect that we will play a formation with 3 CMs at some point as Ranieri said in his interview when he first arrived, I'd rather pay £4million (not sure on the exact fee) for Inler than overpay for a player because he's 'british' as a British player of Inler's level would cost many more pound notes, let's not forget also that when Matty James returns our midfield would be majority British players, but personally I don't think it matters what nationality or league players come from as long as they can do a job here.

Foxhateram Posted 16 August 2015 Posted 16 August 2015 Do you vote UKIP by any chance? Nope would just prefer English teams to develop British talent as appose to other countries players. Until a player comes here and proves that they are better than our current squad then as far as I'm concerned they aren't a classier type of player for our team.
HitchinFox Posted 16 August 2015 Posted 16 August 2015 Sorry if this is a stupid just woken up post but isn't this inler in training? Saw this on the lcfc match preview thing they email me. http://mobile.lcfc.com/cms_galleryimages/lc7464-018280-2617449_478x359.jpg Yep, that's definitely Gok...

A bit crudely worded, but I do share the sentiment. I can see where you're coming from, but your wish will remain fantasy for a long time to come. For every Southampton, there's a Chelsea or a Manchester City. Developing young talent needs time, dedication... and luck. And it has nothing to do with going for experienced players abroad. If you need experience, you're not going to let a 16-year old feature. No matter who'll join us from abroad, he'll have to put in an extra shift - just like any other player on our roster. It's called healthy competition and has nothing to do with nationality. We've got two academy products in our first team at the moment - that's about a 100% more than many other Premier League teams can boast about.

nettle Posted 16 August 2015 Posted 16 August 2015 Inler is quality and will be one of the first names on the team sheet.
weller54 Posted 16 August 2015 Posted 16 August 2015 Hope Ranieri will take the time to give Gok a call this morning.... On his i phone of course!!
Gerard Posted 16 August 2015 Posted 16 August 2015 And one of those is a Ghana international that was born in Germany. Somewhat irrelevant, he is a youth product who has forced his way in the team. The extremely talented English players force there way in to teams at a young age any way, Rooney, Sterling, etc. I think the problem is we don't produce enough great players for whatever reason rather than them not fulfilling potential. If you are future international class you train with some of the best players in the world, if that doesn't force you to raise your level then you aren't good enough anyway.

Swaying further off the main topic, but I find it a bit presumptuous to put Sterling on par with Rooney already.

Must be that they are foreigners.
