TheSomersetFox Posted 15 March 2016 Posted 15 March 2016 Van Dijk is superb and should be in contention for team of the season. Top player. He helped improve the defence when he joined last season. How many goals did they concede - 30!? Something like that. Weren't their CB's Fonte and Alderweireld last season? Seem to have continued where they left off though with Van Dijk coming in
Fox92 Posted 15 March 2016 Posted 15 March 2016 Weren't their CB's Fonte and Alderweireld last season? Seem to have continued where they left off though with Van Dijk coming in Apologies yeah I think he joined this summer actually. He can defend and he's real good on the ball too.
AKCJ Posted 15 March 2016 Posted 15 March 2016 Not seen it mentioned on here but Garth Crooks had Troy Deeney in his team of the week..... in defensive midfield.
theessexfox Posted 15 March 2016 Posted 15 March 2016 He's a right prat with just Virgil on his shirt and likes to think he's a bit of a Messi going forward, not a fan.
StanSP Posted 15 March 2016 Posted 15 March 2016 Not seen it mentioned on here but Garth Crooks had Troy Deeney in his team of the week..... in defensive midfield. thought you were taking the piss. but wow.
Carl the Llama Posted 20 March 2016 Posted 20 March 2016 http://www.bbc.com/sport/football/35857987 Barely concealed disdain for our efforts. Oh Garth
NewEnglandFox Posted 20 March 2016 Posted 20 March 2016 "After 3 consecutive clean sheets, I had to pick a Leicester defender for my TOTW. So how about Morgan?" - Garth Crooks
ajthefox Posted 20 March 2016 Posted 20 March 2016 In fairness he is pretty complimentary if you look at the explanation. That team would be woeful though, seriously, Deeney in DM? **my bad
Carl the Llama Posted 20 March 2016 Posted 20 March 2016 In fairness he is pretty complimentary if you look at the explanation. That team would be woeful though, seriously, Deeney in DM? Also, how can he justify picking Gradel when Bournemouth got panned and didn't register a single shot on target? What could he possibly have done to earn himself a position in the team of the week? It's more the way he claims he could have picked any of our back 4, but then omitted Huth at CB in the favour of Chris Smalling who he said should have been sent off. It's also a lot to do with the way he clarifies how we haven't won anything and makes an unnecessary statement about not betting on us for the Champions League before talking about Kane in superlatives and begging him to stay fit so that Spurs can hopefully catch us.

He does say some strange things. After he said he could pick any of our back 4 he then said Palace were toothless. I don't really understand but I'll take the compliment as a genuine acknowledgement of how good we were.
