What's your first/early memories of matchday

At my first game I don't even know who we were playing, it was in the order of 60 years ago. My uncle took me and my cousin down the match and I can remember my uncle trusting the crowd to pass me and my cousin over their heads to stand right at the front so we could see. Can't remember the result either....but I left the ground completely hooked on Leicester City.

Early 90s or maybe late 80s I think, team playing in blue sponsored by Thomas Cook, think it was Peterborough at Filbert. Leicester lost. It was a Saturday. Still enjoyed it though.

Wasn't my first game but I can always remember going to Sunderland away in 1999 (so I would have been 8) and being really really close to the home fans.

early 90's, leicester v oxford utd i think. we lost, 3-2 if memory serves

Wow, mine too. Although I had just moved from Oxford to Rothley at the time and was in the away pen. That was scary.

Don't worry, after years of standing in rain in far Leicester pen listening to "hoof it" I converted.

My earliest memory is being turned away at the turnstile because my dad didn't realise you couldn't pay on the gate any more and had to buy a ticket!

We ended up getting tickets for the Boxing Day match a few weeks later - against Liverpool in 1994. We sat in the old south Stand at Filbert Street in the top tier. My main memory from that is when Liverpool brought on Ian Rush (whose moustache was at the height of its powers) and my dad just went "oh no....."

We lost 2-1, which sort of defined most of the next 20 years of my support - I was hooked!

I seem to have loads of memories that don't fit into any chronological order.

I remember being sat in the Carling Stand, and someone shouting: "When you get on Colin, ****ing sort the lads out!" it was aimed towards Colin Hill by the way!

One of my clearest memories, is my dad saying: "What the **** has he... YESSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!", and then being thrown around 6 rows in front - Wembley '96 v Crystal Palace. From our angle, looked as though his shot was going well wide. I think I was around 9 at the time. I wish I could remember the rest of the day clearer than I do.

Me and my friends being taken to Filbert Street for my birthday and us losing 4-0 to Derby (can anyone validate this?). For some reason I always remember Savage arguing with the ref that a curling clearance/pass hadn't gone out for a throw-in. Random.

First game I went to was against Port Vale.. about 1990 I guess.. we lost 1-0 in a stinker. Dont remember much about it though.

First game was Monday night family football against Newcastle, mid-90's. Remember Les Ferdinand coming over to sign autographs, but missing me out...so I drew on his leg!

Not sure I recall us losing 4-0 to Derby but we did lose 3-0 in 2002? Last season at Filbert St that.

My foster dad took me to White Hart Lane in 1960 to see Leicester play. Spurs were unbeaten at home for over a year, but to my delight, we beat them with ease. I seem to remember Jimmy Walsh, and either Ken Leek or Ken Keyworth also finding the net.

We had a very good view, with people making way for a little 'un and I will never forget that day, for the rest of my life. I bought my first rosette that day too.

West Brom away 89/90 ish,

Was hooked by the noise, the terraces everything from that moment, however, oddly the thing I remember most was going for a piss at half time and the toilet block having no roof and a police helicopter hovering above. Glad i didn't look up to long and piss on my feet.

Seemed very surreal as a young lad.

Round 4 of the FA Cup..... A 1-1 draw v Exeter City, January 1981 although I started the get Interested in the Team the previous year, also traveled to Liverpool for our 2-1 win at the end of that month and that was my first away game
