Okazaki interviews, comments and pictures from the Japanese media

Recommended Posts

Extracts from the above articles:

In the motherland of football the Samurai striker is getting great reviews. In the 2-1 win that put Leicester above Manchester United,  Okazaki scored to give his team the lead. "In the last match I was holding up the ball and helping out the defence, but it's goals that will get me recognized. I hope this helps me stay in the team." After the goal, he needed lenghty treatment to stop the blood flow after a kick in the head, but Okazaki said, "I came here wanting to play like that so it's no problem".

Commenting on his relationship with Vardy, who has apologised for the derogatory comments he made in the casino, Okazaki said, "We'd been getting on fine before, and that hasn't changed".  (もともと仲は悪くないし、全然そのままの感じ)

A word of the previous filbert was translated!

hunted and becomes!? Spirit of a great expert

Lester's filbert is the great expert who is 23 years from the first appearance.
He is an adult, so "the movement which stops smoking" is being done with a club.
Kicking a whole wear of tobacco ash, quite drastic promotion is being done.
If a filbert is resting, you laugh at this, right?

The name inherited from a filbert street with the previous stadium name, and was decided in the fan voting.
A filbert means "hazel tree".

Why it was a fox,Because it was "foxhunt" is popular from the past in Lester
It decreases worldwide from the angle of the animal protection, but it's still performed at Leicester.
The plural form by which a nickname of a club is also a fox. "Foxes"
It's mysterious whether the side hunted why is made a mascot.
Was there also a hand made a hound?
The team take on at such thing is calling it "foxhunt" as vs Lester.

And it'll be the side where Lester is hunted in most cases.
What happens to this season when Okazaki joined?

The character: FOX
The Birth: 1992/9/19

Gary Winston Lineker escorts at the time of the first appearance.
He has not been absent from a home game for 22 years.
A uniform number is 50.

Japanese media are explained in a joke mixture.
When Japanese player go to the team which has no things heard, it'll be such talk certainly.

What sort of presence does LCFC have in Japan now?

I know that the signing was big news out there and i also know that the club are looking to engage the fans and market in the Far East but it would be interesting to hear if the clubs presence has increased at all?

The blurb on the book cover is great:

I’m a player full of faults. Too slow. Too short. Poor technique. Not the smartest. Not a crowd favourite. But I’ve turned all that to my advantage. Having no illusions about my talent to begin with, I don’t have sudden attacks of self-doubt, so every day I can train with a strong sense of what I need to do.

Despite putting in another sensational performance for Leicester City in the Barclays Premier League on Saturday, striker Shinji Okazaki says he’s still got plenty left in the tank.

The Japan international netted his first goal for the Club in a 2-1 win over West Ham United to send the Foxes to the top of the league, and it came on the back of another hard working performance.

Okazaki arrived from German side Mainz in the summer and impressed many on his debut against Sunderland last week with a display that showed plenty of quality and mirrored the relentless tempo set by the rest of the team.

It’s clear that the 28-year-old is fitting in well at Leicester City, and with a goal to cap two excellent performances, there were smiles all round at Upton Park after the final whistle.

“I’m happy,” Okazaki told Foxes Player HD. “[Jamie] Vardy played a great ball for me and I was so lucky. I shot and then from the second shot I scored the goal and I’m happy.

“We played very good, compact play. So there was lots of pressing and hard work in the first match and it was the same again today. We needed this in today’s game.”

And despite again leaving everything out on the pitch in terms of effort thanks to his relentless pressing and unselfish runs, Okazaki is feeling good about his own fitness and his start to life as a Leicester City player.

He said: “I’m not tired, I have lots of power. I’m not tired. I’ll keep going.

“I’m enjoying it here. Victories are always enjoyable. Leicester is a nice team for me and that always helps. When you’re enjoying football, life is better.”

humble and self effacing - get a grip man you're supposed to be a premiership footballer :P

Ha! Yeah, contrast with Rooney, Cole, Lampard, Gerrard etc. What did Joey Barton say about their 'World Cup Diaries'?  I played shit - here's my book.

Omatase Itashimasita

Yes, after Shinji's transfer LCFC are better known.

But I knew about Leicester because Yuki Abe transferred before.

I think the Japanese who plays soccer has heard it.
