Anyone know when was the last time we won our 2 opening games in a top flight season? I go back to the mid 70s and I can't remember it happening before.

Think I heard someone say today it was the 97/98 season

I'm full of gin and bad decisions but we're out fans actively trying to be as racist as possible today? What the **** is wrong with us. Support Okazaki fine but don't be a cubt about it.

What was it this time?

He made a some really good saves again though mate. One early doors where he deflected a header on the bar by just making himself bigger than Jupiter (to be fair he made some good saves early V Sunderland too) and at 1-2 where Sako shot a point blank and hit him in the stomach, he was in the right place at the right time.

There are still a few questions marks though, it's them question marks that are probaly stopping him playing for a top 4 or top Eiropean club.

Personally I don't think we can expect anyone better than him and I am a big fan. I just am baffled at some periods of his form where he seems to lose his head for no reason?

Some absolutely moronic chants from some of our fans today. "Jamie Vardy says what he wants"? Really? And that wasn't anywhere near the worst.

I hope big Was isn't been shuffled out.

Couls be caring an injury.  But aren't you happy so far with what CR is doing or bringing to the team.  I trust he knows what he is doing on formations and selections.  Seems to work so far.

Slight over reaction to De Laets performance I think.

Yes he was exposed a few times but he was given little support. This isn't nothing to do with weak link, give it another week and everyone will be saying Morgan is our weak link again. Teams look to play down our right because they know little support is provided, we are kind of giving Mahrez a free role so he doesn't have to worry too much defensively (good on the attack but defensively could be costly)

Personally I think Benny will slowly take this position, CR has already said he is a few weeks behind everyone else with fitness. Benny has a poor disciplinary record so think RDL will be in the 1st team a lot still this season anyways lol

Not quite that simple. As others have said Mahrez offered little to no cover, no suprise that Albrighton was switched to the right flank to help out.

Mahrez was pretty hopeless defensively but he's in such great form going forward it's not surprising Ranieri left him on for 75 minutes.

De Laet also didn't help himself. He got beaten almost every time by Zarate and Cresswell. He's had and will have better days.

General East Asian centric insensitivity which is not easy to say after all the gin.

Any song that contained any words about Okazaki other than his name were ****ing horrendous.

The guy's a lose cannon / maverick. He's living in the shadow of his old man - He's a real life Top Gun!

1. He looks arrogant as **** on tunnel cam at the start of the game with the other players, especially the opposition goalkeepers

2. He shouts and balls at the defence over nothing. The ball will fly harmlessly over the bar but you'll always see Kasper running out pointing, shouting and slamming his fists.

3. I've caught him numerous times laughing his tits off during games over seemingly nothing. He's a crackerjack!

We were lucky, but sometimes you make your own luck.

Went pretty much as I expected, too quick and sharp for them going forward but a bit flaky at the back.

Two things we could do to help that would be to revert to a back 3 with Albrighton and Schlupp as wingbacks, just like the last games of last season in fact.

This also gives Mahrez a free role without him having to do much defending, playing him wide exposes whichever fullback he is playing in front of, obviously De Laet today.

Unfortunately I think CR likes a back 4.

Credit to Claudio he's got Drinky controlling games again. Huth was a rock again.

Think we need to find a way of closing out games while keeping some attacking threat. Vardy, Mahrez and Albrighton were finished after 70 minutes.

That's why I think Berbatov could be useful in the last 20 mins of away games. Long ball to him, holds on to it, gets fouled, free kick etc.

By the way thought DD was the steering wheel and never in the fridge. Shame he didn't score though.

Shinji is absolute mustard. What a signing. Legend in the making.

Drinkwater and Hurh brilliant today too.

Who the guy the fanbase thought we bought just because he is Asian and our Asian owners wanted an Asian player, you mean that guy?  He is great player always was and suited us like a glove.  So glad he is with us and a bargain at the price.  Vardy for a 1 mil and Marhez for 400k are i would say the greatest bargains playing in the PL today.  Our scouting and management team have done an outstanding job.  Who ever they buy seems to work out.

To be fair he is always going to live in the shadows of his dad and not reach his heights, I think he knows that.

1. You could be right, but then it could just be his way of peeping for a game?

2. He does go a little OTT at times but I think if he was the opposite everyone will be saying we need a vocal GK. I'd like to say he is passionate?

3. It's a standing joke in football that you have to be crazy to be a GK... This just backs it up lol

Thought we played great in the 1st half. West Ham couldn't deal with the pace of work rate of Okazaki or Vardy and we got our reward with 2 goals.

Looked shaky in the 1st 15 minutes after the interval. Claudio's subs and tactics worked a treat though and West Ham found it difficult to create any good openings. I don't care how negative we are if it earns us points.

The referee was awful due to his total inconsistency. How he could send off Adrian for that is beyond me especially as Vardy only got a yellow for something very similar in the 1st half and whilst dangerous, didn't look intentional. Hopefully West Ham successfully appeal just for the sake of football.

Like many, De Laet is my main concern. He just isn't good enough defensively to be 1st choice and I think a new RB in the squad is a must before the end of the window if we want to start keeping clean sheets. Kasper at times too is pretty erratic and it could be argued he shouldn't have been on the pitch 2nd half.

Overall though, it is hard not to be pleased. We deserved to win because of the way we played and that is encouraging away to a team that is likely to be mid-table. Confident we won't be in a relegation battle this season.

Hello,

So, what do you think about NG??? Apparently, what I have understood from, he played good without to be in his favourite position??? Our two clubs are leaders :)

I thought he looked good when he came on, although there was a point where Albrighon laid it back to him near the corner and he should have held it up but he put in the box and west ham countered. I think we will notice him in games where we get dominated in possession, breaking up play and stuff

One flaw in what you're saying, Adrian studded Vardy in the stomach whereas Vardy made no contact on Adrian.

He is in him. He can't stay and defend near of the corner. He needs to always put the ball in game, ever... When he can, he makes a center, but being stranded like that near of the corner flag... :) But if he pleases you, so, it's great :)

Aaaaaargh!

Bilic & MoTD  "it was dangerous play"  No it flicking wasn't!

It was either violent conduct or serious foul play - I suspect the latter, but there is no way it was dangerous play.

The only mention of "Dangerous play" in the laws of the game are in law 12 fouls and misconduct

And I quote

An indirect free kick is also awarded to the opposing team if, in the opinion of the referee, a player:

• plays in a dangerous manner

Also

A player must be penalised for playing in a dangerous manner if he kicks or attempts to kick the ball when the goalkeeper is in the process of releasing it

Playing in a dangerous manner

Playing in a dangerous manner is defined as any action that, while trying to play the ball, threatens injury to someone (including the player himself).

It is committed with an opponent nearby and prevents the opponent from playing the ball for fear of injury.

A scissors or bicycle kick is permissible provided that, in the opinion of the referee, it is not dangerous to an opponent.

Playing in a dangerous manner involves no physical contact between the players.

If there is physical contact, the action becomes an offence punishable with a direct free kick or penalty kick. In the case of physical contact, the referee should carefully consider the high probability that misconduct has also been committed.

These idiots are paid a fortune to manage and comment on something they have no clue about.

The only teams I'm worried about are Chelsea and Man City. We're challenging this season without a doubt.

Costa and Hazard aren't good enough to polish Vardy and Shibji's boots.

Don't know if anybody has answered you already but I'm guessing this shows how young a lot of city fans are on this forum, although I'm not suggesting that you are necessarily! It was of course back in the O'Neill era 1997-98 when we beat Aston Villa and then Liverpool in the first two games. We went on to finish 8th that season and were the only team to defeat Champions elect Mancs at Old Trafford all season (Cottee). Last Prem. win at West Ham was in 2000 when we then went on to top spot a few weeks later under a certain Peter Taylor!
