“We controlled the game from start to finish and got caught cold by a couple of goals, but it could have been whole different story on another day.”

lol LOL Controlled the game from start to finish, okay then... We destroyed them for about 25 minutes in the 1st half and then killed the game off after 65/70 minutes and limited them to minimal chances.

Kasper looked dodgy last Saturday as well, which is annoying as when he came back from injury last season he was sensational. Hopefully he sort it out as I could see Claudio fcuking him off

Bit of an unfair assessment as you said you hadn't seen the game.

Agree he was flappy at times last week, apart from the clothesline today he made some key saves and kept us in the game. Nothing to warrant putting his position in threat

So impressed that CR came in, looked at the positives from last season, had the sense not to muck about and has got the results.

Another 36-40 points to go but looking good so far.

Although I wish we were 3-4-1-2 with Was on the pitch as we finished last season.

He made a some really good saves again though mate. One early doors where he deflected a header on the bar by just making himself  bigger than Jupiter (to be fair he made some good saves early V Sunderland too) and at 1-2 where Sako shot a point blank and hit him in the stomach, he was in the right place at the right time.

There are still a few questions marks though, it's them question marks that are probaly stopping him playing for a top 4 or top Eiropean club.

I agree with De Laet. I like the guy a lot but seems to struggle when someone runs at him. Benalouane sounds like a disaster at RB.

Still cant believe we won. The whole team look incredible. I'm very confident in Ranieri and the staff.

I always feel a bit sorry for De Laet. He gets hardly any help and then labelled a 'liability' when the opposition's best player runs past him.

Also, what makes you so sure that Benalouane is a "distaster"? I'd accept that he's often too assertive in making a challenge. Expect many bookings. I wouldn't label him a "distaster" after two substitute appearances and one full game for the U21s (in which he was solid, btw). Give him time!!

The trouble with De Laet is that he isn't consistently reliable. The opening game V Everton last season (2-2) I really feared for him. He looked so out of his depth. Then he came on V Chelsea (I might be wrong here, but I think it was them) and he had top internationals in his pocket!

Benalouane just looks like a villain - I loved it today when he ran out of defence looking to spend a yellow card, I think the commentators said he had some like 14 yellow cards and 1 red last season?  He chopped down a player well off the ball that gave them a freekick about 45 yards out that totally killed all their momentum. There was also some cynical blocks he got away with in and around the area where he wasn't interested in the ball! He's a great option to have and the polar opposite to De Laet.

Anyone see Linekers tweets during the game. His one after Vardy's goal made me chuckle.

Vardy scored?

The biggest mistake Kasper made was kicking the ball back up field when he should have just passed it out short got it back and then it would have been Half Time. Instead by kicking upfield it came straight back and he had to foul Sako to prevent him scoring.

No one questions his shot stopping ability but it's these areas of the game he needs to improve or it could cost us dearly.

The top top players rarely make these types of mistakes.

The only real negative comment I can make about today is that we were quite naive in giving away cheap free kicks in dangerous areas. Benny gave one away late in the second half and it was so unnecessary especially as West Ham are such a big team. Also, leading on from the naivety i would have liked to have seen us keep the ball in the corner when we got the chance just to take the sting out of the match.

But that's literally it - fans in good voice, nice bit of banter with James Bond again and the players delivered for the second week running!

Just got back. Absolutely brilliant to win there.

First half we were superb. Second we seemed to play deeper and I felt for Vardy who was isolated. Brilliant seeing Vardy/Okozaki partnership, they are superb.

I wouldn't really consider the free kicks given away as dangerous areas, can't think of one that was just outside the box with good angle/range to it (like Burnley last year)

Don't see nothing wrong with Bennys, they were a good 40 yards away from goal and broke up the game as West Ham was trying to build momentum. Although they were bigger they never really threatened with set pieces and we always put pressure on them with counter attacks - they were happy to commit numbers with set pieces too (like Adrain coming up) so we always had a chance of a break.

Agree with holding in the corner, not sure why Kante tried the cross when could of held it there and seen game through, maybe he is just used to playing more positive lol

De Laet is a poor defender and was even in the Championship. He's a better at right midfield where he has someone behind him.

As for Benalouane. Didn't he nearly get sent off in that game for the 21s too. A real good player wouldn't have made the rash decisions he's made so far. What he done today was just plain daft and could have cost us a goal. Hasn't he now got two yellows from two substitutions. He strikes me as the type of player who likes attacking the ball. A bit like John Terry.

He needs to learn and quick that you cannot rush in with rash challenges, As Was has learned. Otherwise we'll be playing out games with ten men.

RDL had the hardest job to do. Most West Hams attacks came down the left all match. FACT. He was put into the hardest role for this game, he threw himself at the crosses but in the end got turned a lot. Give the man a break.

Most of their attacks came down our right for a reason, they tried to exploit us as he is the weak link in our defence. You get no joy against Huth and Wes who are forming a very good partnership and they struggled to break down Schlupp or get behind him as he is getting better and better with every game.

Teams at this level look to attack weaknesses and that's why they went for De Laet today, he's not as good as the other 3 in our back line. Simple.

Still we won but always things to work on.

I'm full of gin and bad decisions but we're out fans actively trying to be as racist as possible today? What the **** is wrong with us. Support Okazaki fine but don't be a cubt about it.

Not quite that simple. As others have said Mahrez offered little to no cover, no suprise that Albrighton was switched to the right flank to help out.

De Laet wasn't given much support by Mahrez, but there's no excuse for his defending against Cresswell in the first half. Cresswell just did a basic dummy on his left foot to cut inside and De Laet jumped and left the entire defence exposed. It's basic defending. Like GingerFox says, they targeted him for a reason. He looked really pissed off to be taken off, not sure if that was just disappointment at his own performance or being replaced by Benalouane for the second week running.

Cannot believe we won at West Ham. It was like last week really but a bit closer. Our first half was terrific yet again. You sit there at half time and wonder if we've really got a special group of players on our hands here.

Second half was nervy, nowhere near as high in quality but I thought Ranieri got his tactics spot on again by throwing Kante. West Ham were dominating just after they'd scored but we eventually saw it out with relative comfort in the end I thought, and I didn't think there was loads between us after that goal.

Okazaki is going to be massive for us.

Mahrez is already at that stage. What a player. He would not like out of place at a top four side at the minute.

Anyone know when was the last time we won our 2 opening games in a top flight season? I go back to the mid 70s and I can't remember it happening before.
