West Ham 1 City 2 - Post Match Thread

Shinji is immense, drinkwater looked like the player of old, kante is tiny and can see him being a menace, can see vardy going to the euros.

Agree with all! Kante is a little bugger and can play wherever the **** he wants in that midfield.

Same amount of wins as we managed before Hull on December 28th. There's an obvious flaw to that one but we're in positivity mode so sod it! Great win.

I correct myself here and my comment towards the end of the match thread, since I was following the commentator's input:

This marks the first time we've won at Upton Park in 15 years... And we've had an appalling record at West Ham ever since the late 60ies.

Delighted.

We seem to be a bit more game-wise now. More experienced.

Well-timed substitutions too. Tactically astute. Bit of luck, also.

And yet, Ranieri is looking to IMPROVE the team!?

It's looking good, guys. It's looking good.

Fantastic first half performance. The link up play between Vardy, Okazaki (The Samurai Striker looking like he's worth every bit of £7.5mil), Albrighton and Mahrez has been exceptional both this weekend and last! Two very well worked team goals to boot. Slightly dodgy in the second half defensively but they dug in, fought hard and were worth the win when all was said and done.

In short, 6 points out of 6 - happy fooking days.

Fantastic result...and a hoodoo laid to rest, I enjoyed the highly biased commentator not realising he was supporting the wrong team :chant: Who was that commentator?

Pity about their GK....there goes West Hams chance of European football via the fair play league lol

Thought Benny looks something of a liability, similar to his booking during the u21 game, unnecessary challenge.

Shinji made such a difference, he was going for and winning so many balls in midfield to then hold up play and start attacks.  Shame he was getting battered by West Ham as they couldn't contain him.  Maybe Kram should've came on at the end for Vardy as he gave his all.

I'd like to see Kante start in Midfield against Spurs.

The scary thing is that if Mahrez continues like this I can see a big money offer coming in from a major side in January...

With his new contract plus if he keeps up form, at his age and potential - we won't sell unless the bid is major, as in Liverpool - Southampton asset tier 20m+

I'm confident he'll stay, do a decent job and continue.

Good thing he is tied down on a long term deal at least we can dictate the fee. I would get vardy signed up long term as well.

Great result!

Drinkwater for the first time looked comfortable in a competitive Premier League game, the way Mahrez was able to beat a highly rated Cresswell and others shows how far he has come.

Ranieri proved today that he is very much capable of managing at this level, second half was tense, but he made the subs he had to and we held on. You can't ask for much more than that.  :scarf:

Not really that spectacular as we are only joint top with ManUre,think we should be at least a point clear if are thinking of Europe.Worrying times. Ranieri is not good enough.

If that wasteman sterling is worth 50 then Mahrez must be worth around that and I'm only half joking.

Is it okay for a guy to have a major crush on Mahrez...

Only on Mahrez Crush Mondays...

If he keeps playing like this, why would he want to leave? Here he'll have a starting position in the team that's top of the league!

Yeah that's the down side of doing well, people take notice and offers come in for the likes of Mahrez. Not that I'm complaining as I'm sure our scouts would find a suitable replacement and we'd be quids in!
