Is this the same Drinkwater who, in the opening match made a pass, whereby if it was Cambiasso who had made the pass, it would have been hailed as 'world class'?

lol Cambiasso's gone now, really isn't any need to try and spark another 'debate' up.

Besides, Drinkwater has received many plaudits both on here and from the media, pundits etc about how good THAT pass was.

Drinkwater apart from the chance in the second half when he should have at least worked the keeper he was excellent yesterday.

To me he seems stronger this season. Maybe the fitness gurus have beefed him up a bit. Long may it continue because he is a good footballer. It also means we will have a very good group of Midfielders.

King, Drinkwater and Kante deserve major praise for defensive work yesterday. It's been a concern of mine but they made West Ham move the ball out wide all the time. This helped as with the Diamond they had no width until Zarate started taking the pish out of De Laet. Schlupp was excellent, first game I've seen from him without one of his brain farts. He was helped that Noble on the right of the diamond just kept going inside.

And gosh our front four are great going forward. That second goal looked so easy. This win was far more impressive than last week as when West Ham got going they were actually very good whereas Sunderland were a shambles.

10 more wins.

I think yesterday was more of an professional performance rather than the spectacular performance we had against Sunderland, of course different opposition the West Ham defence was no where near as bad as the defence Sunderland had. First half we were great both attacking and defensively, once again another outstanding performance from the new lad Okazaki who really works no stop, no just the goal but his non stop running and his desperation to get the ball. Mahrez simply amazing once again, Huth I thought also put in a decent shift, clearly away every West Ham threat.

Second half I don't think attacking wise we could repeat it, we had one or two decent chances but not enough pressure or even testing there keeper. Defending was key for us second half and yeah they did score but it was a super goal from them that couldn't really be prevented.

The red card incident I missed as I already left by that point, but watching it on Match Of The Day you could have no complaints.

West Ham I thought looked decent, now and again they put up some good attacking moves, while at the back I think they have some floors that need to be worked on. I tipped West Ham to go down pre season, but watching them now I slightly change my mind. But as I say a lot of work for Billic to do there.

Good day out, but view from seat was awful. The seats were lower than the pitch and every time a steward walked by you couldn't see anything. Also just after Leicester scored they told us to sit down! and we JUST SCORED!

In fairness to West Ham they struggled without their best player from last season. The invention and incisive through balls that Konchesky was capable of playing was sadly lacking from their play.

Bloody hell, are people going to make excuses for everyone who loses to us?

Ref's decision to only add on 3 minutes yesterday was mental - there were 6 subs and a goal so that's 3 and a half minutes before you even think about the pretty outrageous timewasting that was going on.

Obviously it worked to our advantage this time but it's clear that referees are just not capable of properly managing the clock and I think it's time that responsibility was taken away from them.

The ref did seem to push us on straight after their goal, he was constantly blowing his whistle or moving his arms but to be fair we're not a big time wasting side, we never go down holding heads or faking injuries.

I said 5 mins so was surprised at 3 but then they were down to 10 men so it was basically game over.

Groundsmen mowing while waiting to get out was amusing with one or two playing up to the ground.

And since when has "fairness" had anything to do with anything?  You'll be advocating match analysis next whereby the team with the most shots, the best player ratings and the smartest kit is nominated the winner.

Seems to me that we destroyed them in the first half, couldn't believe how good we were and went all defensive after the break. One day someone will actually start believing in the talent of our team and give em free rein to break people's hearts.

Second half was painful but over the whole game we deserved. We were better in the first half than they were in the second.

We gave them too much joy down the wings and I still think long term we'd be better off going with the 3-5-2. I don't like mahrez being relied on to protect de laet who is weak enough defensively. I think Claudio thought the same and switched before the end. On the other hand, the two centre backs were superb.

Okazaki was unreal, looks a great signing at this point. We played some great stuff in the first half and even in the second at times. Great to hang on in a game like that, had awful visions of forest away 2011/12.

Atmosphere was a bit of a shame, it wasn't shockingly quiet but the prices put off a lot of the hardcore and there was definitely a different dynamic than you get at the best away trips. Case and point was the cringey 'golo kante/riyad mahrez' chant complete with camp arm movements.

Glad I got to visit Upton Park before it goes, it really is a wonderful ground, the acoustics are absolutely incredible and the few times where the home fans made some noise it was deafening. It's sad that the best football grounds are becoming extinct and I almost feel sorry for hammers fans that they have to move out into a boring quiet bowl. But not really as they're a bunch insufferable cockney bellends.

Exciting game and great result. Pleased for Claudio that he's had a good start, that should alleviate a bit of pressure from him.

Absolutely ditto. Atmosphere at times was decent from us, but there just weren't enough getting involved. i was in C right behind the goal and the were only a handful of us joining in with the songs that were getting started near the back. Thought the roar when they pulled one back was proper noticably loud too.

Taking the piss out of Adrian during that Mahrez free kick was fun though.

As much as we got the benefit of Anthony Taylor's decisions, did anyone find that West Ham got off lightly with bookings? Twice Mahrez broke away on a counter to be pulled back with no punishment. Late challenges too on Okazaki too.

same as sunderland the week before. okazaki has been booted more times than he's kicked the ball so far this season and it's a miracle if he even gets a free kick let alone a card is shown.

just watching motd, claudio's celebration when we scored was great. looked so bloody happy.

I laughed at the bloke to the left of Claudio when the second went in on MOTD.

"FACKIN BULLSHIT" lol

I was further back under the roof and the atmosphere was really good there in the first half, second half everyone was proper nervous and it went a bit flat.

Loved the piss taking with Adrian over the short goal kicks and not letting us get a "you're shit arghhhh" going, so when Jenkinson took a proper goal kick it was brilliant.

I didn't like sitting back in the second half, in some cases a two goal lead isn't enough.

I don't think we sat back as such West Ham just came at us at the start of the second half and we were unable to get into the game other than a few quick breaks. Kante for Okazaki was the right move at the time Shinji looked knackered and we needed more bodies in the middle. We didn't sit back we were forced back.

Agree that their acoustics are class. Thought their lack of bubbles when they came out for the second half was absolutely pathetic though and a perfect example of the problem with the mentality of fans in this country.

I don't agree about our end though. Agree that the Kante/Mahrez song was an absolute abomination but that first half where I was was as good as any end we've had in the last couple of seasons for me.

Only just noticed that Maddison was on the bench rather than Schwarzer. Anyone know why?

Looks like well need anther goalkeeper as well for cover

Watched the highlights again this morning; Winston Reid is a tool.

.... BILIC. Thought of making an extra thread, then decided against it.

I have seen/listened to a few interviews from the W.Ham manager over Saturdys game.

One of the fairest post match comments, from an opposition manager, I've heard for a long time,no crying over the Schmeichel issue, disapointed over his own GKs red card, but no excruciating excuses for his teams defeat, and plenty of praise for

the foxes, complimenting them on their movement and pace.

It must also be said D.Advocaat later interviews, praised the foxes and again their movement.

Quite refreshing not having to go through some pompous whining complaints of 'blame culture attitudes'.

I've always thought this when I've seen West Ham on TV. Saturday confirmed it! Winston Reid is a ****.

West Ham have lost their appeal against goalkeeper Adrian's red card in Saturday's defeat to Leicester.

The 28-year-old will now serve a three-match ban.

good (not really)....it could so easily have been KS in that position.
