Bit of an unfair assessment as you said you hadn't seen the game.

Agree he was flappy at times last week, apart from the clothesline today he made some key saves and kept us in the game. Nothing to warrant putting his position in threat

He was totally at fault for Sunderland's 2nd goal last week. Let's get it right.

He's a great shot stopper, but a lot of times when he has to judge to stay or come off his line he gets it wrong.

Another example yesterday, very early on when a cross dropped in the 6 yard box he was nowhere to be seen. (Wes ended up heading it onto the bar).

Needs to do better in this respect.

Did you actually read my post or just assume?

I put he was flappy last week too... Didn't think I'd need to explain every time he was but yes he was at fault for the 2nd Sunderland goal.

This was an issue last season, it does seem like he hesitates at times and there was a few times I branded him a subuteo player. In all fairness the time you are describing about yesterday I'm not sure how much at fault he was at, it was a great ball played in at a lot of pace and good height with a lot of players around the 6 yard box as the ball came in

** and if you decided to read from the post this was sent from you will see that i have said it is an unfair assessment of Kasper from a poster who suggested if his performances keep this way his position will be in threat, unless you agree this too?

Ref's decision to only add on 3 minutes yesterday was mental - there were 6 subs and a goal so that's 3 and a half minutes before you even think about the pretty outrageous timewasting that was going on.

Obviously it worked to our advantage this time but it's clear that referees are just not capable of properly managing the clock and I think it's time that responsibility was taken away from them.

Alright calm down. I think we are generally in agreement.

I would not be dropping him on the basis of the last two games - if you read my post I never suggested we should - but long term this is his weakness.

You said he was 'a bit flappy' last week. I think that was generous, as he was at fault with the goal - which you omitted to say in that post.

That's all.

Great performance today, Vardy's pass for Shinji's goal was a thing of beauty!! Mahrez is on his way to being the greatest signing in club history. Very impressed with Drinkwater, he seems to have become comfortable on the ball at this level.

Other than us winning today, the sweetest moment was watching Norwich's third goal against Slumberland. If you get to see it pay attention to Cattermole's contribution, just awful, it left me howling!!! They gave him a FOUR year contract a few weeks ago . Probably figured he will be useful in League 1 in 18 months....... lol!!!!!!

catermole was awful...they looked like a team on a downward spiral.

Haha that's ok then... There's a lot that join a debate half way through without reading previous posts which is what I thought you had done, sorry mate.

Yes I agree, Kasper does have his flaws but to be fair to him he is probably the best GK we have had down here for at least 10/15 years. He does have to work on some of his game he needs to work on... Sometimes I wonder if having stronger competition for his place will bring out the better in him.

Yes he was flappy last weekend too, I think as a whole defensively we never looked confident though, maybe start of season nerves? He did cost us but he also kept us in the game from the start, we could of been a few down within first 10 mins if it wasn't for him aswell.

For me the weakest link today was Drinkwater.

Thought Okazaki looked superb.

Mahrez, however, is THE Premier League form player.

Drinkwater the weakest link? Really!

One flaw in what you're saying, Adrian studded Vardy in the stomach whereas Vardy made no contact on Adrian.

There appeared no contact to me either BUT the ref must have thought there was contact or there would have been no booking.

Pretty irrelevant and not really that interesting but we are five points up on equivalent fixtures from last season. 0-0 draw at home with Sunderland and 2-0 defeat at West Ham. Keep on improving, starting with avenging the Spurs home defeat of last year

Second half was painful but over the whole game we deserved. We were better in the first half than they were in the second.

We gave them too much joy down the wings and I still think long term we'd be better off going with the 3-5-2. I don't like mahrez being relied on to protect de laet who is weak enough defensively. I think Claudio thought the same and switched before the end. On the other hand, the two centre backs were superb.

Okazaki was unreal, looks a great signing at this point. We played some great stuff in the first half and even in the second at times. Great to hang on in a game like that, had awful visions of forest away 2011/12.

Atmosphere was a bit of a shame, it wasn't shockingly quiet but the prices put off a lot of the hardcore and there was definitely a different dynamic than you get at the best away trips. Case and point was the cringey 'golo kante/riyad mahrez' chant complete with camp arm movements.

Glad I got to visit Upton Park before it goes, it really is a wonderful ground, the acoustics are absolutely incredible and the few times where the home fans made some noise it was deafening. It's sad that the best football grounds are becoming extinct and I almost feel sorry for hammers fans that they have to move out into a boring quiet bowl. But not really as they're a bunch insufferable cockney bellends.

Exciting game and great result. Pleased for Claudio that he's had a good start, that should alleviate a bit of pressure from him.

An honourable mention for our defence which came under a lot of pressure in the second half but which held out for 40 minutes after the West Ham goal. When they make mistakes it's easy to point the finger but I thought they were well organised and relatively assured yesterday.

Speaking of defence and Kasper, Kasper looked so much more secure when we had 3 centre backs, Huth was obviously a big factor with his experience and organisational ability but Was too, I don't see why it would make him more decisive with his decision making but it did.

I would also say Huth and Morgan look weaker as a 2 than they did last season as a 3, is Was fit? I heard something about him not being fit for the Sunderland match, but by all accounts everyone is fit bar James.

We shouldn't be criticising too much from yesterday as West Ham were good, they put us under a lot of pressure and we survived, but it could have been better.

Is this the same Drinkwater who, in the opening match made a pass, whereby if it was Cambiasso who had made the pass, it would have been hailed as 'world class'?

just watching motd, claudio's celebration when we scored was great. looked so bloody happy.

The very same, I thought he was excellent yesterday.
