ScouseFox Posted 3 October 2015 Posted 3 October 2015 why did we offer to host a world cup in a sport we cant do
Guest ttfn Posted 3 October 2015 Posted 3 October 2015 why did we offer to host a world cup in a sport we cant do Just need to stick to cycling and rowing world cups.
Finnegan Posted 3 October 2015 Posted 3 October 2015 It'll probably not surprise anyone to know that Foley and Beale play for the same club side, which also happens to be Cheika's former team.
Vacamion Posted 3 October 2015 Posted 3 October 2015 Monday is going to be a pile of poo at work. Thank goodness City won.
Finnegan Posted 3 October 2015 Posted 3 October 2015 why did we offer to host a world cup in a sport we cant do And you guys moan that you don't get the footy.
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 3 October 2015 Posted 3 October 2015 I found it funny when Wales beat us because I hate this sport and the people that play it in general, genuinely couldn't give a toss so found every rugbybanterLAD I know getting pent up hilarious - but **** Australia.
MooseBreath Posted 3 October 2015 Posted 3 October 2015 Tom Youngs has come a long way since being a good option for a cheap versatile forward in championship manager 97/98
bovril Posted 3 October 2015 Posted 3 October 2015 Tom Youngs has come a long way since being a good option for a cheap versatile forward in championship manager 97/98 AM/FLC. Great partnership with Benjamin.
Vacamion Posted 3 October 2015 Posted 3 October 2015 Was a Saffer not carded for a far less dangerous head/shoulder charge in the earlier game?
purpleronnie Posted 3 October 2015 Posted 3 October 2015 Maybe they'll be a change in the way we treat our players and allow them to play like we now do in the cricket, needs to happen with rugby and footballers. It's like watching a load of robots unable to think on their feet and adapt.
Finnegan Posted 3 October 2015 Posted 3 October 2015 Was a Saffer not carded for a far less dangerous head/shoulder charge in the earlier game? Not quite. He was carded for repeat offending. The commentators missed that point and were calling it harsh but JdP had been warned about going in without his arms and did it anyway. Should know Owens will tag you for that.
CosbehFox Posted 3 October 2015 Posted 3 October 2015 The difference shown there. Australia have players capable of brilliance who can combined great rugby like the second try. England have Joseph and him alone capable of some invention.

It's like watching a load of robots unable to think on their feet and adapt. To be fair, England have been much better today than against Wales. They're actually playing okay rugby with the ball. Australia are playing very, very well though. They'd beat anyone in the world playing like this.
BlueSi13 Posted 3 October 2015 Posted 3 October 2015 Barring a comeback worthy of Lazarus it's game and World Cup over. But to be honest most people following the Rugby knew that was already the case after last weekends debacle. We looked like dead men even before the kick off. First hosts to ever be knocked out of the group stages. Where this will leave English Rugby I have no idea.

I was doing other stuff during the Scotland game so only saw bits of it.

England have Joseph and him alone capable of some invention. That's the players we choose, conformists, anyone who have different characteristics are ignored or got rid of. Still backward looking and nothing changes.
Super_horns Posted 3 October 2015 Posted 3 October 2015 Just need to stick to cycling and rowing world cups. Rowing will always be a successful sport but cycling (track) isn't quite as successful as it once was.. What about sailing? Going to feel even worse losing out to the Aussies and Welsh unless there is a dramatic change..

One game though, we continue to mess up in world cups, we have to change or it'll repeat over and over again just like our footballers.
Guest Posted 3 October 2015 Posted 3 October 2015 we're going to make history - nah not the first home nation knocked out in the group phase but the first time we come back after losing so many at half time. Come on England - make it the perfect sporting weekend.
Finnegan Posted 3 October 2015 Posted 3 October 2015 BlueSI: to be fair, most of us that know rugby would have told you England weren't good enough before you ever played Wales. Ronnie: don't agree. England at their best were the least creative, most boring, most routine, most "conformist" rugby playing nation in the world. In 2003 you were ruthless, efficient, technically excellent, strong but really ****ing dull. You're not losing games because you lack virtuoso, mercurial genius like Matt Giteau, Shane Williams, Milner Skudder or SBW. You're losing because you lack world class players. World class players don't have to give behind the back passes, offloads or side steps. Martin Johnson was world class, Neil Back was world class, they were hardly twinkle toes. Australia's best two players are ball winners Hooper and Pocock. Don't be disheartened, these things always happen in cycles. In 2003 when you won it, France were a great side, Wales and Ireland were shit and New Zealand were choke artists. Now look at the world. Your time will come again.

Come on England - make it the perfect sporting weekend. If they do go out all 3 English national sides (Cricket, Football, Rugby) will exit their respective WC in the earliest stage despite the Premier League being the richest on the planet, England’s RFU is by far the wealthiest national governing body in rugby and the ECB recently agreed an obscene carve-up of world cricket for the financial benefit of themselves. Ronnie: don't agree. England at their best were the least creative, most boring, most routine, most "conformist" rugby playing nation in the world. Yeah but at least Vardy's in good form.
Finnegan Posted 3 October 2015 Posted 3 October 2015 Why not? South Africa did it in 2007 beating you in the most boring final ever. Warren Gatland has won two six nations with Wales (2008 we actually played nice rugby) playing Warrenball which is remarkably similar to Woodward's England. Rugby isn't a completely different game in the space of twelve years. But you can't play that sort of rugby by numbers with such a shit set of loose forwards. Warburton, Lydiate and Faletau are probably the best three outside of Aus and NZ. England don't have that currently. Robshaw is ****ing awful.
