Rugby World Cup 2015

Well, the damage was done in the last ten minutes vs Wales, but that was still pretty poor.

Major cricket, rugby and football world cups in the last year or so, group stage exits in all of them. Is there a systemic problem here?

That was shocking wasn't it? Appalling, Australia were good but our defending was pathetic at times.

Not good for the sport either, only the hardcore will be interested from now on.

Anyone who follows rugby knew this could happen, 2nd rate coach and coaching staff who still doesn't know his best team or tactics. Perhaps this will shake up English rugby but who knows after all they failed to push the game on after the world cup win in 2003. It would be a start to play your best players, on a positive at least it should help the Tigers this season.

I think the impact on the level of support is a bit offensive to English rugby supporters and a little bit revealing of the level of interest of the people repeating it.

It'll definitely waste some of the potential for the sport to grow, 100% agree, but the people interested in rugby are going to stay interested in rugby. The idea that only a small hardcore bunch of fans are going to be left cheering England come the six nations is just silly.

Especially given you'll still probably be the joint favourites, unless Wales or Ireland inexplicably win the world cup.

Oh that's what upset you? Cmon Vac, you're not that soft. For balance, Gavin Henson is a tacky bronze pykie and Mike Phillips is a backwards, knuckle dragging, valleys caveman.

I'll do it for Vac...

Iwan Thomas can't dance.

BOOM!

Anyone go today? Thought it was great, personally. Class running rugby from both sides, with little to no territorial kicking game to plague the match.

Argentinian fans pure class too. Can't imagine how mental their football fans must be!

Not into it myself and no game yet has got me going but I did enjoy that game, atmosphere as well.

Was in the city in the morning and the Argentinians were literally everywhere. Quite a few Tonga fans about as well, all good for the city.

All a plus for Leicester.

Poor game from Ireland today but at least we ground out the win. Awful game for a neutral to watch.

Murray was awful, Henderson is turning into some player.

In fairness to Italy, they played well, crazy to think how much of a difference Parisse makes to that team.

Overall though we need to up our game if we are to get beyond the better teams.

You wont beat France if you play like that, which means a QF against NZ. Even if you beat France, it'd be a quarter final against Argentina who are looking incredibly hot right now.

I genuinely think the 4 semi finalists will be the 4 southern hemisphere teams.

France are bollocks and I'd put money on Ireland beating Argentina, calm down.

By coincidence, I'm in Dublin for the semis weekend. Absolutely praying that the Irish get there :D looks like they'll need to avoid defeat against France on Sunday though. Is there any chance of New Zealand messing it up?

Its not highly likely, NZ havent looked invincible but they haven't had to get out of 2nd gear so far in the tournament.

The ABs are just in cruise mode at the moment. Assuming they adjust to the step up when they face a Southern Hemisphere side, they'll be fine.

Assuming Australia beat us, I think coming out of the Group of Death with 100% record will do wonders for their confidence and momentum but I'd still back the All Blacks.

Not to mention smug with it.

Only saw the last few minutes of England but really enjoyed the booing of Australia penalties at Twickenham. Might bring that up next time a sanctimonious "anti-football fan" type rugby supporter starts getting all self-righteous.

The Wife went out for a meal for her friends birthday and stumbled across 27 Argentinan fans. They all sang Happy Birthday and started dancing around with my wife and her friends. The video is brilliant lol .

Seeing as my wife is South American there was no language barrier and most of them could speak English anyway. Nice to see fans having a drink but just out having a good time without having to cause trouble.

The irony of course being that a large contingent of those fans probably only went because it was a world cup game and plenty of them probably follow football. Have a day off buddy.

When Twickenham starts consistently booing Wales, Ireland or France kicks in the six nations then fair enough. Given I can't really remember that ever happening then I'm not sure you've got much of an argument.

I think a lot of the cliché rugby fans are sanctimonious, posh pricks but Twickenham on the whole has manners at least.

Cardiff, however.... booooooooooo!!!

Have a day off? I've hardly got a chip on my shoulder about the majority of rugby fans like some on here, just found it amusing.
