Finnegan Posted 1 October 2015 Posted 1 October 2015 Not much of a rugby fan, but that was a good watch. Out of interest, why was the roof shut? I thought rugby was supposed to be an outdoor game with the elements taking effect. It improves the atmosphere. We like it. We can't close it unless the opposition agree. Fiji like to throw the ball around like sevens so it's in their interest to want a dry pitch and the weather's been unpredictable lately. Rugby is more weather influenced than football, rain can ruin handling. If you enjoyed that game it's because it was dry. It would have been a lot worse if it wasn't.
urban.spaceman Posted 1 October 2015 Posted 1 October 2015 I can't be the only one who thinks it's insane to let Wales play at the Principality Stadium?! Absolute madness to give one of our competitors in our pool (and tournament) the home advantage of their crowd and pitch preferences!

It is stupid, but I expect it is all down to dodgy deals and harks back to when Wales hosted (possibly along with Ireland and Scotland if memory serves me correctly). England were not hosts but got to play their games at Twickenham. Clearly a third world country like Wales cannot host on its own but England can and shouldn't even consider giving away some of the home advantage to Wales.
Finnegan Posted 2 October 2015 Posted 2 October 2015 I'm ****ing loving all this bitterness boys, keep it up.

AKCJ Posted 2 October 2015 Posted 2 October 2015 /Tumbleweed They're also more interesting than Rugby.
Bobby Hundreds Posted 2 October 2015 Posted 2 October 2015 I thought this had finished as I hadn't heard anything for ages about it. They're still in the group stages .

It was bonkers really but it's happened, they didn;t get the bonus point though which could be big. Think the Aussies will do us tomorrow but if we can somehow get it done we'll still be in very decent shape to qualify.

Any win actually practically guarantees qualification, as we'd only then need a bonus point win against Uruguay to go through due to neither the Welsh or the Aussies getting a bonus point against Fiji.

Finnegan Posted 2 October 2015 Posted 2 October 2015 Says the guy who can't stop posting in the thread.
foxfanazer Posted 2 October 2015 Posted 2 October 2015 Georgia try against the all blacks. Great moment
Guest MattP Posted 2 October 2015 Posted 2 October 2015 Watching this New Zealand certainly don't look anything like unbeatable. Never seen so many handling errors.
Tiny earl Posted 3 October 2015 Posted 3 October 2015 Is Chris Robshaw the only person whose puppet mask is better looking? (Lucozade)
Lionator Posted 3 October 2015 Posted 3 October 2015 Watching this New Zealand certainly don't look anything like unbeatable. Never seen so many handling errors. They're going through the motions. If anything in past world cups, NZ have peaked in the group stages and have looked weak by the time the KO stages come around. This time I think they'll peak towards the end of the tournament.
Finnegan Posted 3 October 2015 Posted 3 October 2015 What Japan are currently doing to Samoa and their win against South Africa really makes their turn around in terms of days to face a fresh Scotland absolutely disgraceful. They could and maybe should be getting out of this group on merit. The Scotch should be feeling quietly extremely relieved that they got away with daylight robbery via the schedule.

The whole scheduling is a joke, no teams should be facing 3 or 4 day turn arounds whilst other teams in their group are getting 7 or 8 days just so it can get a primetime weekend slot. Groups have 5 teams, 4 teams play on any given round of fixtures, each group plays every 6 or 7 days. It's not difficult.
Finnegan Posted 3 October 2015 Posted 3 October 2015 I'm with you. Usually ridiculously punishing on the second and third tier nations. We got hit by it pre Fiji as well mind which was hard.
leicsmac Posted 3 October 2015 Posted 3 October 2015 Absolutely. The scheduling has totally fvcked Japan and given Scotland an essential free ride through easily available bonus points. They knew that losing to the Saffers (which looks like what will happen) probably won't matter. Given the scheduling they knew they could outpoint Samoa or Japan even if one of them caused a shock. If you win three matches out of four in a five-team group, you'd normally expect to be one of the top two teams, and it's a shame Japan could well miss out having done exactly that. Still, If Samoa are up for the last match against Scotland Japan still might make it through.
