KingKante Posted 30 March 2016 Posted 30 March 2016 Sky reckons kantes unclear on his future.. He's only been here 5 minutes and he's weighing up a move? Surely not!
Oxfordfox83 Posted 30 March 2016 Posted 30 March 2016 I have an awful feeling that he will be the one big player to leave this summer. He is outrageously good and could pretty much take his pick from any team in Europe. I don't think you can look too deeply into this-he's really just deadbatting transfer questions-the only difference is that because he's doing it in French Sky can translate it to make a story. If he'd been quoted "I don't care if another club approaches me" rather than "I don't mind", which is only the translator's choice, then there'd be no story. He's said "I'm happy to have done well and be linked with other clubs, but I'm paying it no attention-I'll be focusing on this season with Leicester." That's basically as good as it gets. Don't believe he'll go-you can see he loves it here and he's achieving as much as he could reasonably hope...
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 30 March 2016 Posted 30 March 2016 I read the SkySports link as him not taking notice of other clubs interest and he's focused on us. Nothing in it, be surprised if we don't have him for another season, at least.
st albans fox Posted 30 March 2016 Posted 30 March 2016 He won't have joined on a bumper package. He wants one and he deserves one. We either up his salary (big time) or he is off. I can't argue with that.
les-tah Posted 30 March 2016 Posted 30 March 2016 give him a huge salary i agree hes earnt it! The club arnt fkin idiots either they know our team would be lost without him in centre mid and will go all out to keep him!
Richmondfox Posted 30 March 2016 Posted 30 March 2016 Rather dramatic headline from Sky compared to the actual content of the article. I think that the club will refuse or do their very best to not lose players, if they do then put 40m+ and massive add ons so the club benefits financially for the next few years. Let's screw clubs like Monaco have with Utd and Martial. Players will get a big wage rise which along with big values on their heads could make them less attractive ie Benteke or what WHam have done to reward and keep Payet sweet, meaning the buying club will have to usually increase the wage even more. It is annoying that the press seems like they want our best players to leave or at least create stories about everyone potentially leaving at this stage of our rise as if we are a sinking ship. I want to see more stories about players that might want to join us that the press asset stripping our club. I feel we won't lose any of the valuable players in the summer, what team at the top of the table with CL on the horizon does that?
GingerrrFox Posted 30 March 2016 Posted 30 March 2016 But..but..but our love story has only just begun... Baby don't leave meeeee!!!!
foxes161 Posted 30 March 2016 Posted 30 March 2016 He'll go.. So will Mahrez. But really hope I'm wrong! They would be foolish to leave if we win the league.
foxes161 Posted 30 March 2016 Posted 30 March 2016 I can't find a raw version of the interview to hear what he's saying but the quote in the article and the translation on the video are at complete odds. When he says he's concentrating on Leicester for now he could mean it in the sense of focusing on his current contract. Even if he means he's focused on finishing the season then taking stock that doesn't necessarily mean he intends on moving. Sky being alarmist, shock horror. All he's doing is leaving his options open. Certainly nothing wrong with that. It's clear he wants a bigger contract and that's reasonable.
FantasticMrFox&Son Posted 30 March 2016 Posted 30 March 2016 Sky Sports and speculation ?? Well I never, now that's a first.
The Railway Man Posted 30 March 2016 Posted 30 March 2016 I worry about Paris St Germain, they have the pick of any French footballers they want and the financial muscle to buy them, surely Mahrez and Kante would be on their radar now.
Staffs Fox Posted 30 March 2016 Posted 30 March 2016 He'll just be after a new deal and deservedly so, Just imagine how much money he'll go for if her were to leave?! Players like him are rarities and he's young, is one of the best in the world at what he does and has the potential to be even better, Remember a few years ago when Tiote was touted as a £40m player? He's worth double by that estimation! Seriously though his value is around that £40-45m mark, will a team pay that after one season at the top? Juve don't have that money, Arsenal won't pay that money which only really leaves, PSG, Real, Barca and City which any player would be tempted by (City and PSG if you just love the money) but we'll get great money Surely he wouldn't drop out of the Champions League which rules Chelsea out, When the season is wrapped up, just offer him a bumper new deal and he'll stay
ARM1968 Posted 30 March 2016 Posted 30 March 2016 Stop wobbling guys. Kante will still be here next season and I think Mahrez will too. Kante signed a 4 year deal so unless he asks to leave and a team pay hugely for him I can't see him going anywhere. It's just media doing what they do. They can't believe we are where we are, and following that refuse to consider players like Kante and Mahrez sticking with us. Keep the faith people.
ARM1968 Posted 30 March 2016 Posted 30 March 2016 Mind you a ne deal with £80 million release clause should be sensible. £70k/£80k a week might settle him a bit.
TheSomersetFox Posted 30 March 2016 Posted 30 March 2016 Just seen his little interview on SSN where they say he doesn't know if he'll be here next season. For me, it sounded more like he isn't thinking about it and is focusing on winning this league. N'golo really doesn't seem the sort of guy to come out in the media and tout himself
crisp packet Posted 30 March 2016 Posted 30 March 2016 Nothing regurgitated story ? This is the only way the media can stop us? They all liked the idea of it ? Now it could happen ? Now they not so sure ....! All our players are on long term contracts? A lot has to happen before anybody can leave? No story.....
ARM1968 Posted 30 March 2016 Posted 30 March 2016 At this rate I can't even see Man City being able to offer CL football. Pellegrini's gift to Pep?
Koke Posted 30 March 2016 Posted 30 March 2016 We will keep for another season. Then maybe he will get a big move. I'm not sure about Mahrez though. He seems like the type who like the glamour of playing for a big club. If he could get £90k a week playing for Chelsea he would go. Yes they don't have CL next season but they will finish top 4 next season and after that build a side to become elite again. Leicester City have a ceiling. Chelsea don't. Man Utd dont.

Man Utd dont. pretty harsh on riyad that view imo. hasn't he openly said he rejected both psg and marseille early in his career to play for quimper and le havre because he thought it best for his career? they will, i think and hope, all stay for a season of reigning champions and champions league football. then we will almost definitely all go back to real life, we'll finish mid table and mahrez and kante, and perhaps a few others, will realise they are too good to play for us. as you say this is our peak. this isn't getting any better, we aren't ever going to get any better (realistically), whereas they are. one year of champions league football here and then thanks for the memories. ranieri too imo.

Sky's the limit ....!!! Sell one ? you become Southampton . Money we don't need . Unless these players throw the toys out the pram ? It's not really happening? As we don't need the money....
Guest Col city fan Posted 30 March 2016 Posted 30 March 2016 Kante has become another fairy story really. Plucked from French footy, having an amazing season with us, scores on his full international debut AND on his birthday. Amazing stuff...For us now to go on and win the league will completely seal the deal.
merlin1969 Posted 30 March 2016 Posted 30 March 2016 Will be on sky sports news in 2 minutes about him and his future ... 10.35am

Do we have a 'ceiling' anymore. The only time I can remember a so called 'ceiling', £30K per week was the figure quoted as a maximum. Have I missed something? What is the 'ceiling' now? Isn't Jamie on £90K per week, or similar?

merlin1969 Posted 30 March 2016 Posted 30 March 2016 Just said he does not know if he will be at Leicester next season.
