Haydos Posted 30 March 2016 Posted 30 March 2016 Unless they both have rather low release clauses in their contracts, but I don't think they do. Nobody outside of Spain has a release clause.
Gerard Posted 30 March 2016 Posted 30 March 2016 With the money we have we can afford to keep them here. Clubs in the prem have so much more power than they've ever had before. The players may be worth more to us if we force them into finishing their contracts. Also there are literally only a handful of non English clubs that could afford them, it really limits their options as it really has to be a European giant that is prepared to pay for them. As much as we love Mahrez & Kante the likes of PSG, Real & Barcalona have better options.
Fox92 Posted 30 March 2016 Posted 30 March 2016 Be interesting to see how Kante performs at Euro 2016. He's had a good season in the PL and currently I don't think he'll be leaving. Say he has a good European Championships too though, I just dunno. That said, if we win the league why would he want to leave.
lgfualol Posted 30 March 2016 Posted 30 March 2016 Would be upset if him or Mahrez left, especially if they went to another English club, especially if that club wasn't in the Champions League like we should be.

It's still unlikely he'll be starting for France, Pogba and Matuidi are still the chosen two in the centre mid and Deschamps also loves to squeeze Cabaye in.
Benguin Posted 30 March 2016 Posted 30 March 2016 N'golo Kante, we want you to stay, We want you to stay, We want you to stay N'golo Kante, we want you to stay!
filbertway Posted 30 March 2016 Posted 30 March 2016 Nobody outside of Spain has a release clause. Well I'm pretty sure Gray had one when we signed him, but yeah, they're quite rare.
Oxfordfox83 Posted 30 March 2016 Posted 30 March 2016 God, there's some miserable bastards on here! He might go, but there's no suggestion he will. We have a great team, with great team spirit, writing a football fairytale the world is reading, and this is what you want to spend your time on?? I can't see any of them wanting to go, really. The club is clearly magnificently well run, we have CL football next year and probably gold badges on our arms. The lads get on with each other, and the manager, and we're achieving things. Chill out and cheer up.

sdb Posted 30 March 2016 Posted 30 March 2016 I think we're smart enough to know that no valuable player leaves when we're at an all time peak. See how next season goes but unless a player actively wants to leave then surely we won't sell. And I can't see anyone wanting to go right now. Either way Kante must be worth upwards of £50mill and I say that with a completely straight face. N'golo Kante, we want you to stay,We want you to stay,We want you to stayN'golo Kante, we want you to stay! 100% success rate in the past!!!

No one will want to pay much north of £20m for him as he gets few goals and assists which makes it an easy decision for us.
crisp packet Posted 30 March 2016 Posted 30 March 2016 Does anyone have the original video? http://www.skysports.com/football/news/11712/10222821/ngolo-kante-focused-on-leicester-future-ahead-of-title-run-in
Haydos Posted 30 March 2016 Posted 30 March 2016 Well I'm pretty sure Gray had one when we signed him, but yeah, they're quite rare. That's a point. I'm not sure why they're not more common, seems like a pretty good bargaining chip for smaller clubs to get decent players on board. It's not great for long term growth but it seems like it would be helpful for a marquee signing.
possiblygeorge Posted 30 March 2016 Posted 30 March 2016 He's contracted until 2019 as well, so his buyout clause wouldn't exactly be cheap.Verdict: He's not going anywhere. Not sure where this speculation is coming from.To add to that, we have a lot more money laying around then what most people give us credit for. Our owners are god awful rich, there's a huge sum of money coming in from merch sales, memberships, and tickets. Don't forget we're getting a certain sum also for which position we finish at the end of the season. Playing Champions League next season, we're in the International Champions Cup, we get paid just for turning up for that and then some for winning matches and if we win the tournament, if you want to call it that. What ever anyone wants to throw at him, we can match it 100%, at the end of the day it's up to the Club to release him and i really doubt that will happen. CR won't allow one of his best performing players to be released just like that.

I don't think there's anything crazy to be seen here.
possiblygeorge Posted 30 March 2016 Posted 30 March 2016 30 mil release clause. There you go. Won't happen, a nothing story to try and unsettle the Supporters of the club... again. http://www.leicestermercury.co.uk/Leicester-City-RUMOURS-New-deal-N-Golo-Kante/story-28881488-detail/story.html
