Itsthejoeker Posted 30 March 2016 Posted 30 March 2016 I'm pretty sure the Caen fan on here said NGolo isn't the type of player to chase big contracts, and that he was reluctant to leave Caen because he was still contracted there.
ARM1968 Posted 30 March 2016 Posted 30 March 2016 Release clause way too low. Biggest clubs will pay that for a squad player.
possiblygeorge Posted 30 March 2016 Posted 30 March 2016 Release clause way too low. Biggest clubs will pay that for a squad player. That's just the release clause, his transfer value would have to be more than that too
UPinCarolina Posted 30 March 2016 Posted 30 March 2016 I can't tell if you're being sarcastic , he won't go anywhere, he has it way too easy here Definitely not. I think that it's very good to know that he won't be leaving for a pauper's sum - and that the club had the foresight to lock him down in the way that they did, when they did.
possiblygeorge Posted 30 March 2016 Posted 30 March 2016 That relates to vardys contract not Kante. Both actually Both actually EDIT: wait, no it doesn't
Bayfox Posted 30 March 2016 Posted 30 March 2016 Both actually EDIT: wait, no it doesn't No.Kante is set to be offered a new deal the bit about release clauses and 2019 relates only to vardy.
possiblygeorge Posted 30 March 2016 Posted 30 March 2016 Definitely not. I think that it's very good to know that he won't be leaving for a pauper's sum - and that the club had the foresight to lock him down in the way that they did, when they did. I can't see him leaving, since he came to us everything has gone right in every way possible for him, too much luxury for his Football here No. Kante is set to be offered the bit about release clauses and 2019 relates only to vardy. Reading at 2am isn't always easy, my bad haha
possiblygeorge Posted 30 March 2016 Posted 30 March 2016 You could argue "but what if we're offered a crazy offer for him" but I don't think a sum of money for a player outweighs team success though. Who are we possibly going to replace Kante for? He's one of the in-form players midfielders in the world right now. Everything he's ever wanted he's got it at Leicester, his Football is peaking right now and he's playing Champions League next season. Cannot for the life of me see him leave. It's a massive nothing story, just like the Vardy story's we saw.
ChrisFilter Posted 30 March 2016 Posted 30 March 2016 I'd be amazed if he's here next season. Same for Mahrez. Not the end of the world. We move on.
Guest Col city fan Posted 30 March 2016 Posted 30 March 2016 God, there's some miserable bastards on here! He might go, but there's no suggestion he will. We have a great team, with great team spirit, writing a football fairytale the world is reading, and this is what you want to spend your time on?? I can't see any of them wanting to go, really. The club is clearly magnificently well run, we have CL football next year and probably gold badges on our arms. The lads get on with each other, and the manager, and we're achieving things. Chill out and cheer up. Don't exaggerate. We are only discussing. Personally, I think he'll go if the right offer comes in for him. I can see him at Paris.
Gerard Posted 30 March 2016 Posted 30 March 2016 I'd be amazed if he's here next season. Same for Mahrez. Not the end of the world. We move on. I think all our star players are more likely to be here than not. There are no more than about a dozen teams in world football that are a step up from Leicester as it stands today. They are all on long contracts and Leicester will only cash in if we consider it a favourable offer. None of these players are guaranteed to be a success at bigger clubs, it may be a case of be careful what you wish for as Leicester City maybe the best times of your career.
gurru991 Posted 30 March 2016 Posted 30 March 2016 Players like Benteke, Delph & Bony head to the big name clubs and sit on the bench, much better to stay with a team whose star is rising and get playing time
Fox 4 Life Posted 30 March 2016 Posted 30 March 2016 Kante is about the only player in our squad that is pretty much guaranteed to be a success anywhere he plays, he is that good! I am quite disappointed in his comments though at a time when we should be 100% focused on the league.

n'golofan Posted 30 March 2016 Posted 30 March 2016 It's still unlikely he'll be starting for France, Pogba and Matuidi are still the chosen two in the centre mid and Deschamps also loves to squeeze Cabaye in. he won't start. Diarra, Matuidi and Pogba always start but he will be the first substitute and will play every game.
n'golofan Posted 30 March 2016 Posted 30 March 2016 I'm pretty sure the Caen fan on here said NGolo isn't the type of player to chase big contracts, and that he was reluctant to leave Caen because he was still contracted there. exactly! he only left Caen because we needed the money. The only possible problem is his girlfriend. I was told she was not happy in England but don't know if the source is reliable. Besides that, he's obviously happy at Leicester, has a great friendship with Mahrez, get to play 90 minutes every game, get to play the CL next year with a new contract and a big raise...why would he want to leave?
n'golofan Posted 30 March 2016 Posted 30 March 2016 Don't exaggerate. We are only discussing. Personally, I think he'll go if the right offer comes in for him. I can see him at Paris. Paris doesn't want him. They already have Verrati and Matuidi. They need their third midfield to be more offensive (Pogba)

Don't be disappointed, i am french and I can guarantee that when he says "I don't mind other teams being interested in me" he means :I don't care, i don't pay attention to that

Ozwin Posted 30 March 2016 Posted 30 March 2016 Someone will have to offer a ridiculous amount for us to sell him. He's not going to kick up a fuss, the man's screams of honour and integrity.
n'golofan Posted 30 March 2016 Posted 30 March 2016 I think he will want to stay but Leicester will get some big offers for him some of them might be hard to refuse. The other concern is Mahrez, they are (I think) the only french speaking players in the squad, they are both muslims, they share a great friendship...if Mahrez leaves, kante might be tempted to do the same.

This is why we need to sign more French players asap
