Kante

The nice comments that people were saying about him came across as very genuine, not just politeness.

The revelation about his religion is indeed interesting in view of some other debate on here, but best not go on about that. Overall, I'm glad that none of our players seem to ostentatiously display their faith or political beliefs. Albrighton pointing at the sky is about the only thing that I can think of - and that was completely understandable after his mother-in-law (?) had been killed in those terrorist shootings in Tunisia.

The comment from Kante's former team-mate about him humbly asking for permission to pray in the bloke's flat amused me. I wonder if he politely asks opponents for permission before taking the ball off them?  :D

Come to think of it, has he had any yellow cards? He's certainly had very few for Europe's top ball-winning midfielder. I really hope he stays - just 1 more season, N'Golo, enjoy Europe in blue and then see how things stand (though 10 years would do, too).

I thought it was common knowledge N'golo was Muslim, so I'm not sure revelation is quite the word, but I do think there is no need to make a song and dance about it.

I like the fact we have positive role models from different communities on the pitch, I think it helps to bring the city together behind the team.

To think we nearly missed out on this chap, likewise Mahrez. Both deals broke down but were thankfully revived.

True. Good job FT aren't in charge of transfers, the amount that posted to leave them for stalling etc lol

I lead quite an isolated life, so a lot of "common knowledge" probably passes me by!

I hadn't given it a moment's thought until the other day. When I did, I assumed that he was probably Muslim as Mali is mainly a Muslim country. Someone denied this, but now we have a "revelation" of the truth!

I'm very happy with the diversity of our squad, everything from several Leicester youth players via a Sheffield cheeky boy, a Notts Anglo-Jamaican, Mancs, Danes, Germanics, a Polish Guinness drinker, a Franco-Algerian wizard and representatives of almost every continent apart from Antarctica (no Aussies or Kiwis left now, though, I think?). I'm not sure people need someone from their own religion as a role model, though, do they? If so, where's my declared atheist?

Mainly, though, I'm just happy that we have such a good, united team with such a good team/squad ethic - including the absolute "revelation" that is N'Golo Kante, world-class midfielder & Premier League player of the year for me.  :)

It's so easy for us to forget about Schwarzer :P

Touché!  :D

You should be pointing out our lack of North Americans, though. Or have we got one? Wes doesn't count just because he plays in CONCACAF qualifiers!

"Well, I'll go to the bottom of our stairs!", as my Grandma would have said. You'll be citing Preki next.....  :D

Now we just need to hire an Antarctic penguin as club mascot to replace Filbert, and we'll have every continent covered.

verry quiet guy and what a story, ! from a dustman father and a cleaning lady mother

That was a good watch. Enjoyed the commentary and stories told from the perspective of some of his former teammates, in particular the one where he's returning home from training at Boulogne, riding his kickboard up and down the streets of the city, wearing what must've looked like a massive backpack on his shoulders. lol

In the twenty years I've been watching city,

He without a doubt one of the best midfielders we've had,if not the best,I never thought I myself would see a better player than izzett in my time but Kante in just pure quality

Kante press conference. Shame he's not starting tonight for France.

Kante is rated 78 now on FIFA. 81 if you put him at CDM.

Inler is rated 77 now too. That article is all wrong
