It's hard to convey tone on the internet. I don't mean to be brusque or blunt (most of the time). Perhaps I am sometimes, it's not my intention to offend.

I want a personal 'not my intention to offend', your presence here offends me!!

I see you missed the irony - not even Matt is that right wing!

Nah I didn't miss the joke - I just am unsure between the two which way he'd vote if he was Austrian.

Farage has gone!

I'd give it at least a week before we can confirm that his resignation is in fact a resignation!

It's also not a suprise really, he's setting up a new party.

Michael Foot's memorial has been vandalised with extremist graffiti.

Shame that the great man is being remembered at this time ofr that instead of the great beliefs he lived for.

I don't mean to be nasty to anyone but I do get a bit tired of ken' s banal, meaningless and condescending platitudes in every thread. They add absolutely nothing to the thread.

And generally misses the point in most threads.

Do people actually read them and take them seriously?

Farage has gone!

I'm not the least surprised. He's given insight on many occasions that he might well say "enough is enough" and I don't think he's a great help to UKIP anymore...at least not when I've seen him speaking of late.

UKIP needs to focus on the entirely moderate, common sense messages it delivered at last year's Margate conference and make sure it gets and uses those kind of people to reflect and publicise those views.

It will never be easy because there are always others itching to highlight any isolated comment and put big headlines around it to convey an impression that is not necessarily a reflection of truth at all. The BBC do it all the time through being so selective as a means of promoting their bias and idealogical agenda.

Glad Niger has stepped down, no need to carry on, he came he saw, he conquered.

Enjoy your retirement and now UKIP can move towards being a party whose future is giving the old working class Labour vote an alternative to vote for.

I wonder if he'll go back on his word....again.

I dont think so, he has achieved well above of what he could have imagined!!!  He helped get UK's independance, he is now going out on a high, I only wish in my career I could do the same.........
