kingcarr21 Posted 5 October 2015 Share Posted 5 October 2015 Surely Ancelotti is the manager they should go for. Has won so many titles including the prem. He knows what it takes to win. Klopp would be great in the Prem but Ancelotti is the wiser choice imo

MPH Posted 5 October 2015 Share Posted 5 October 2015 Wouldn't be surprised if there was a dressing room rift, particularly regarding who was doing Gerrard's responsibilities since he left etc. Could it not just be that Rogers was crap for them? Good timing to get rid of a manager imo. International break gives them time to appoint the right man and gives him time to settle before the next match. Just seems like they where not doing too bad 1-1 with Everton in a Derby game is not a bad result. Always think its better to sack a manager in the summer break. Should have gone back in the summer but this is a sensible time to get rid if you're planning to.

Steve_Guppy_Left_Foot Posted 5 October 2015 Share Posted 5 October 2015 I don't think it's wildly unrealistic to be hoping to of scored more than a goal a game on average when you've invested so much up top, and to have a better goal difference than -2 at this point in the season. It's unrealistic thinking you have a divine right to be challenging for the league every year but at the minute Liverpool are full on bobbins from the goalkeeper right to the top. 2 good players and that's it. Klopp would be great in the Prem but Ancelotti is the wiser choice imo he wouldn't go there, he's got more sense than that. Besides they want someone to work with their current setup which Klopp is perfect for as he never has anything to do with transfers and doesn't want to. Jon the Hat Posted 6 October 2015 Share Posted 6 October 2015 Klopp will do well I think. They have some talent, they need a crazy genius to get the best out of the them. I can see him taking them into the Champions League places and winning a cup or two.
MooseBreath Posted 6 October 2015 Share Posted 6 October 2015 Be good to see Klopp in English football but I think he'll struggle to make Liverpool anything other than a top-5 club. They've been poor for quite a few years except one season when Suarez lifted them up the league on his own.

He didn't buy them though did he? I thought that was sorted at a higher level? Where he's failed is in not being able to get them playing particularly well. When a manager can't sign the players of his choosing, but gets dictated to above, it's often a recipe for disaster. Imagine Clough or Ferguson standing for that! The Doctor Posted 6 October 2015 Share Posted 6 October 2015 I guess that's liverpools for you overly high expectations Their expectations can be daft, but to expect for a top six side to be scoring more than 1 goal a game on average and only 1 win in the last nine in all comps (if we consider the league cup game a draw since it went to penalties)? That's perfectly realistic. They're massively underperforming, even more so for the money they've spent. Utter dirge from front to back.
Dan LCFC Posted 6 October 2015 Share Posted 6 October 2015 10th in the league, scraped past Bournemouth, Villa, Carlisle and Stoke. Drew at home to Norwich & Sion, lost 0-3 to West Ham. They've been awful this season. They were looking on tracks to miss out on European football altogether this year let alone just the Champions League.
