MPH Posted 4 November 2015 Posted 4 November 2015 Hello. My name is Inigo Idiakez. You nutmegged my father. Prepare to die.
glenelgfox Posted 4 November 2015 Posted 4 November 2015 I have a feeling that we spend 15-20mil at the January window and make a run at staying in the Top 8 for the rest of the slate. We'll probably sell Mahrez at the end of the season, but not before doubling down on some young, high-energy attackers to keep pace with Vardy. Hopefully we then use the Mahrez money to invest in some quality defenders. I've been pretty satisfied with our midfielders, after some early issues.I will be very pissed off if we sell Mahrez or Vardy in the transfer window or post season. As I have posted before - we are in a very very strong financial position these days so we no longer have to sell on stars to balance the books. Unless someone comes along and offers stupid money like £50 million then we will never be able to push for higher honours if we sell on the likes of Mahrez and Vardy. The owners have stated that they want us to be a club that can compete at the top end of the table and for that to happen we need to retain the star players and bring in others around them as we have done to a certain degree this season with Kante and Fuchs turning out to be very good signings. Simple as that even though it isn't simple but you get my drift! I want to see Leicester up there for an extended period, not just one or two years and slip right back because we sell away our stars. We need to be feared and fighting for top honours.
simon789us Posted 4 November 2015 Author Posted 4 November 2015 Ron vlar when he's fit wouldn't be a bad shout on a free too
Jazzy_Jeff Posted 4 November 2015 Posted 4 November 2015 If we can upgrade 2 or 3 players within the squad every season who knows where this team could take us. We won't get anywhere if we start selling our star players.
Freesolo Posted 4 November 2015 Posted 4 November 2015 How do you guys feel with making bid for Charlie Austin? Maybe shipping off Ulloa he is a far better player IMO and both similar being big strikers
Freesolo Posted 4 November 2015 Posted 4 November 2015 We need a RB and, the midfield is very solid maybe a quality keeper too that can fight for his place, Kasper is good but compared to Prem keepers he is not a top half keeper IMO
Lestoh Posted 4 November 2015 Posted 4 November 2015 I do agree we need to shift a fair amount of our current team - Ulloa included. By no means a bad player, but we can and should do better.
Guest Posted 4 November 2015 Posted 4 November 2015 Eden Hazzard is looking for a new club apparently. I bet he wants Champions league too!
Freesolo Posted 4 November 2015 Posted 4 November 2015 Eden Hazzard is looking for a new club apparently. I bet he wants Champions league too! Hazzard wouldn't come and we could never afford him or his wages, but would love to see him back to his best playing alongside Vardy
TJB-fox Posted 4 November 2015 Posted 4 November 2015 Hazzard wouldn't come and we could never afford him or his wages, but would love to see him back to his best playing alongside VardyPretty sure he was joking mate
AKCJ Posted 4 November 2015 Posted 4 November 2015 Would like us to go for Daniel Bentley. Get him in and loan him to the Championship. He's impressed me whenever i've seen him.
Nick Posted 4 November 2015 Posted 4 November 2015 apparently us, spurs and wham are after islam slimani http://www.lebuteur.com/article/detail?titre=tottenham-lautre-piste-de-slimani&id=42197 Dejavu
My Nads Posted 4 November 2015 Posted 4 November 2015 How do you guys feel with making bid for Charlie Austin? Maybe shipping off Ulloa he is a far better player IMO and both similar being big strikers He'd be perfect for the role alongside Vardy, but there are rumours Nige might be taking the QPR job soon, so if that happens there's 0% chance! We should keep hold of Ulloa though, he's a good player and he's something different.
My Nads Posted 4 November 2015 Posted 4 November 2015 I don't have anyone in mind, but a RB has to be top of the list, then a good young goalkeeper that can fight for the position within a year or so.
filbertstreet Posted 4 November 2015 Posted 4 November 2015 Just me who'd have Afobe over Austin? he'd be a record signing, wolves want £14m http://www.skysports.com/football/news/11699/9966567/wolves-reject-third-bid-for-benik-afobe-from-norwich-city
Dan Posted 4 November 2015 Posted 4 November 2015 Sod that in which case. Can get better for that money.
The Horse's Mouth Posted 4 November 2015 Posted 4 November 2015 Just me who'd have Afobe over Austin? definitely
My Nads Posted 4 November 2015 Posted 4 November 2015 Just me who'd have Afobe over Austin? I'd take Austin, he's proven in the PL. He's one of those players that never looks flashy, but he scores a lot and that's all that matters.
Freesolo Posted 4 November 2015 Posted 4 November 2015 I am always sceptical when buying expensive players who have never played in the top tier for big money, the jump in class between the two leagues is huge.and ontop of that Afobe has done nothing until this season
Guest Posted 4 November 2015 Posted 4 November 2015 apparently us, spurs and wham are after islam slimani http://www.lebuteur.com/article/detail?titre=tottenham-lautre-piste-de-slimani&id=42197 Could be old news as we were after him when we were promoted. Then again we may still be following him.
UPinCarolina Posted 4 November 2015 Posted 4 November 2015 Is there a reason that nobody paid for Austin in the off-season? It seems out of sorts that he had to spend this fall with the Rangers in the Championship. I don't know anything about his wages or their demands, but I seem to remember thinking they were somewhat high but reasonable enough (especially for an English player - Hell, even Danny Ings was sold for a pretty penny and I think that Ings was inferior to Austin)
Guest Posted 4 November 2015 Posted 4 November 2015 QPR wouldn't take a little less and Austin thought he was too good to join a team not in the top 6. I imagine he'll be looking to get out of a mid table (and descending) championship team now.

Also fitness doubts as publicly elaborated on by the West Ham chairman although Austin has given a strong rebuttal.
