January transfers, wish list, available etc.

I think this may be the last year of his QPR contract so his value will be much reduced in the January transfer window or free in the summer. Also fitness doubts as publicly elaborated on by the West Ham chairman although Austin has given a strong rebuttal.

Being his last season QPR will want to sell him but maybe Austin will want to see out the season and go on a free for much higher wages (especially now that he's wasted half a season in the champ).

Don't see Austin fitting in here.

I get the impression that people think that Austin is going to score at the same rate he did for QPR here alongside Vardy, which isn't going to happen.

Vardy is our number 1 striker, we need a player in who can fill that number 10 role behind him to allow Mahrez to continue to flourish on the wing.

Well said.

Austin has already said that because of his loyalty to QPR he will see out the season with them which coincidently happens to coincide with his contract running out so he can move on a Bosman this coming summer. That will be nice for him.

I wouldn't want him here as he just doesn't fit in with our quick dynamic football. Sign a quick, mobile striker that ideally is great in the air and can find a pass. Emile Heskey would have been an ideal partner for Vardy.

Think Austin is in for a nasty shock. He'll either end up at a West Ham/Palace/Newcastle rather than a 'big club' he probably feels he should be at. Or, he'll get his move to a big club and end up sidelined! Think maybe Tottenham is the best he could do personally

Andros Townsend reported to have fallen out with Potchetino. Could be a nice option as back up to Riyad. Anyone take him?

yeah I would to be fair, reckon he'd cost a fair bit though.

he's got west ham written all over him i reckon

I wouldn't personally.

We have Albrighton, Dyer, Mahrez and Schlupp for the wing positions.

And i'm sure we'll be going back in for the lad from Sporting Lisbon with his contract expiring in the summer

I am always sceptical when buying expensive players who have never played in the top tier for big money, the jump in class between the two leagues is huge.

and ontop of that Afobe has done nothing until this season

Akinbiyi managed it....

Not for me either.

When we make a signing I always think he should be good enough to get in Tottenham's side and if he isn't I don't want him.

It would have to be a complete collapse for us to be relegated with 22 pts at this stage so I only want players who are good enough to play for a top six side as that's how we improve. Easier said than done I know attracting players this good or are under rated but are on this level but that's what I want. If we can stay in the top four by January our pulling power becomes greater nd we should probably use this time to upgrade on as many players as we can.

I like the look at that young lad at Reading up front, plus Armstrong on loan at Cov from Newcastle. Neither will probably be on our radar as we're probably looking at proven players right now but they both have something about them.

West Ham and Newcastle are big clubs even if Newcastle are in tatters and Palace are a decent side.

mate when i seen he was at wolves he was the disaster that sprung to mind, Arsenal wouldn't have let him go for 2m if they seen any class. look at the wolves buys this season they like to get young players from big teams that cant burst through and that have played for England in U21 and younger.

Palace is probably a perfect fit for him really. He'd fit their system really well as a Glenn Murray replacement.

Fully agree. I don't think Austin is a poor player but I could just see him flopping because he doesn't fit our style, and we've got in my opinion a better forward already playing there - Vardy's at his best when he's the focal point.

Afobe I see fitting our style a bit more due to his pace. In an ideal world though I'd sign someone who's more of a number ten.

Who would take vardys place if he got injured?

Kramaric would have to get looks again, I'd think. Ulloa could perhaps find a way to work with Mahrez too.

state of the names banded about here, any flavour of the month or anyone young from the league below always touted by many as 'original' suggestions, so clichéd!

I'll leave it as simple as saying we could do with a right back, and I'll let the scouting team decide on which general undiscovered talent / good value in the market there is as I'm not an expert

Well, apart from scoring 32 times in 51 appearances at MK Dons and Wolves last season.

Scored 20 in 38 since joining Wolves in January.

Yeah, but apart from that, absolute zilch.

Would be happy if we signed Slimani and Carrillo in January, both are players that I could see fitting in here.

Slimani is dominant in the air and not slow either.
