Donut Posted 22 February 2016 Posted 22 February 2016 It does tend to feel like the BBC when commentating on football are petulant and sarcastic when i watch. When i listen to Danny Murphy, and ESPECIALLY Mark Lawrenson, everything is in a deadpan, monotone and to me sarcastic tone. Every game is dull, all the players are all rubbish kind of thing. It often makes me just turn their commentary off.
purpleronnie Posted 22 February 2016 Posted 22 February 2016 Cracking game at Luton V Leicester for the fifth round 67 years ago ...the replay must have been entertaining too, we won 5-3. I'm sure the clubs would love those attendances now.
theessexfox Posted 22 February 2016 Posted 22 February 2016 Richie Wellens on the panel and a bit of Zak Whitbreak in the side for Shrewsbury
Soar Fox Posted 22 February 2016 Posted 22 February 2016 The only way I could see in improving the Fa Cup is just by going back to basics. No Friday night games, no different times on Saturdays & just do a couple of games on Sunday's, no Monday night games either. At the start of the competition try and get teams to agree a maximum cap of £15 per ticket for Adults. Saturday games all to kick off at 3pm then have 2 games on Sunday 13.00pm & 16.00pm with the draw immediately after the last game. Fa cup semi finals to be at neutral venues on a Saturday Hillsborough & Villa Park for instance with no other league games scheduled for that weekend. The final should be on a Saturday at 3pm a week after the season has finished. The whole build should start at 9am on the day of the game. Talking to former players, former managers, show how they got to the final, maybe a few games between the 2 sets of rival fans. Try and make everything about the fa cup. Nowdays you get games all over the place, with the same teams always on tv, Man United have been on tv 50 consecutive Fa cup games.

MC Prussian Posted 22 February 2016 Author Posted 22 February 2016 What happens? I tune in and Manchester United score a goal. And a very scrappy one, too. Lucky, lucky.

EastNeukFox Posted 22 February 2016 Posted 22 February 2016 It was more entertaining when LVG stabbed himself whilst trying to have a drink...
MC Prussian Posted 22 February 2016 Author Posted 22 February 2016 Ha, what a flukey goal. That was never a free-kick, flew right over Whitbread's toes. But hey, Shrewsbury have no one else to blame but themselves. Poor attitude whilst defending.
RowlattsFox Posted 22 February 2016 Posted 22 February 2016 Should that be offside? Clearly in keepers eye line.
