RowlattsFox Posted 21 February 2016 Posted 21 February 2016 I'm not sure I'd make any changes to the format. Don't really agree with a champions league place for the winners, most years it would be a pointless change as the top 4 win it more often than not. Maybe a rule like the Johnstone paint trophy where you have to have a certain amount of players who started the last league game. I'd cap ticket prices though.
Nalis Posted 21 February 2016 Posted 21 February 2016 So Spurs are out and they didnt exactly play a complete reserve team v Palace.
Donut Posted 21 February 2016 Posted 21 February 2016 If anything, Man City should have prioritised the FA Cup over the Champions League. They could win the FA Cup, but even if they got past Kiev, i couldnt see them going much further, even against the lesser teams at that stage let alone Barca, Bayern and Real
ScouseFox Posted 21 February 2016 Posted 21 February 2016 tbf theres probably no pleasing people. if they "big boys" played a first eleven every round then we'd have semi finals between liverpool, united, city, chelsea, arsenal, spurs and that's about it every year and people would cry about how "uncompetitive" the whole competition is.
Jimothy Posted 21 February 2016 Posted 21 February 2016 So Spurs are out and they didnt exactly play a complete reserve team v Palace. That's poor from Spurs. Shows their not as brilliant as the press are making out. That team should have more than enough to see off Palace, who are in poor form lately. tbf theres probably no pleasing people. if they "big boys" played a first eleven every round then we'd have semi finals between liverpool, united, city, chelsea, arsenal, spurs and that's about it every year and people would cry about how "uncompetitive" the whole competition is. I think a 6 team semi final would really shake the competition up, good idea
Donut Posted 21 February 2016 Posted 21 February 2016 Why is it that we moan about when other teams field weak teams against other teams anyway? Has no impact on us. Probably gives us a better chance of winning if wed take it a bit more seriously ourselves. Maybe we should just accept the clubs dont care much about it?
Jimothy Posted 21 February 2016 Posted 21 February 2016 Hazard scored, so I'm refusing to believe this games actually happening.
ScouseFox Posted 21 February 2016 Posted 21 February 2016 willy is so so so shit. man city would've made a decent game of this with a complete reserve side but just having joe hart in goal. surely he's not tired.
Unabomber Posted 21 February 2016 Posted 21 February 2016 That goalie is absolutely pathetic what a shameful man. He prob earns like £50k a week too. My dog would've done better in goal and he hates football like literally goes upstairs when it's on.
DJ Barry Hammond Posted 21 February 2016 Posted 21 February 2016 I honestly think it's beyond repair now. I'm not so sure that's fair... we still get some great story lines, such as the Bradford one last season. Not every year will be a classic, but cup football still has something about it, just ask West Ham fans who may start to feel it's going to be their year. Something tht may increase interest however is a decrease in our leagues co-efficient.
Unabomber Posted 21 February 2016 Posted 21 February 2016 Tbf my dog would not have got close to that he is too small imo

The free kick was awful, but I was pretty shocked at the third he conceded - stand up big and be brave he saves it, but he chickens out which leaves space for the ball to travel through. Did well to on the penalty, but then again Oscar was a tit.
RowlattsFox Posted 21 February 2016 Posted 21 February 2016 Surely Chelsea could have put a couple of kids on the bench? What's the point bringing matic on with 10 minutes to go against man city's youth team.
shawy2510 Posted 21 February 2016 Posted 21 February 2016 Still humiliating whether they have kids or not
Nalis Posted 21 February 2016 Posted 21 February 2016 If Hart gets injured we can safely count City out of the title race.
RowlattsFox Posted 21 February 2016 Posted 21 February 2016 Chelsea in the cup final will be nice, weakened team on the final day and minds on the cup final.
Corky Posted 21 February 2016 Posted 21 February 2016 And people moan that we have Schwarzer as back up.
Dan Posted 21 February 2016 Posted 21 February 2016 That was a complete farce of a game. Man City fans ought to be reimbursed. They were conned. Yet the irony is I don't even think it was most of their kids who looked the main weak links. I'm amazed at how Man City can spend this much money and have this much crap in their squad.
Donut Posted 21 February 2016 Posted 21 February 2016 Hollow victory really for Chelsea That was a complete farce of a game. Man City fans ought to be reimbursed. They were conned. Yet the irony is I don't even think it was most of their kids who looked the main weak links. I'm amazed at how Man City can spend this much money and have this much crap in their squad. Most of their better players have been at the club years, many dating back pre Pellegrini and EVEN pre Mancini, thats the scary thing
katieakita Posted 21 February 2016 Posted 21 February 2016 Lets hope for a Chelsea vs Arsenal/Hull QF with Costa scoring the winner
Donut Posted 21 February 2016 Posted 21 February 2016 And another thing, chucking a load of kids into a team in a game and competition you blatantly dont give a shit about is not "giving them an opportunity" Blending them in with senior players gradually and in a proper game is giving an opportunity.
J.Lisemore Posted 21 February 2016 Posted 21 February 2016 More embarrassing for Chelsea to be honest. So reluctant to give the kids a chance, Matic coming on instead of Loftus-Cheek just sums them up really.
