Parafox Posted 8 November 2015 Posted 8 November 2015 It's going to be a tedious 6 weeks between now and Christmas. I'm already fed up with the John Lewis advert which, to me, makes absolutely no sense.
The Doctor Posted 8 November 2015 Posted 8 November 2015 The guardians take on the john lewis advert is a work of art: http://www.theguardian.com/media/tvandradioblog/2015/nov/06/john-lewis-christmas-advert-who-is-moon-hitler At least the little girl bought him a telescope, though. She could have bought him food, or a companion, or a ticket back to Earth. But no, she bought a telescope, dooming him to spend the rest of his miserable life watching everyone else have much more fun than him. What a fist to the face. Take that, Moon Hitler. Also, the safestyle guy kettle advert has to be a thing

I had no idea about that until my other half told me about it, and viewed from that perspective it's a good and very effective advert I would say. The Guardian review had me in tears of laughter though

Just so happens he is old and lonely and someone decides to make his Christmas by sending him a present and showing him that somebody cares. Working alongside Age UK I believe. As soppy as it is, atleast its got some sort of decent message behind it for a change instead of just pushing products.

SystonFox Posted 8 November 2015 Posted 8 November 2015 John Lewis adverts are always (always) crap. Over rated because of the bad cover songs used on the advert. It's the royle family theme tune ffs
