Marton Fulop RIP

How terribly sad. I always kept an eye out for him and his career for a good few years, until he went to Greece and I lost track. He was a genuinely good goalkeeper for us during his time here, certainly stood out in a pretty poor side and I wasn't surprised to see his career go well for a couple of years afterwards.

RIP, 32 is absolutely no age at all.

What a keeper, incredibly sad news. Devastating for his family and friends. RIP

Hope it's marked in the next home game! He had wonder games at villa! Sheffield Wednesday, Chelsea away and played part in the gesture at forest! Very sad news and a minutes silence is surely the least we can do??

Niall Quinn pissed me off a bit on SSN. The best he could say about him was "he pushed Craig Gordon for his place, and he made Roy Keane think twice about signing Gordon but he did anyway".

Would have been far a fitting tribute to have the Birch on, talking about his time at a club who really valued him and wanted him.

Anyway at times like this we focus far too much on the football side. His family have lost something irreplaceable.

RIP Marton

On this forum alone 105 replies.I am sure other forums have given their condolences.

If these somehow could be sent to his family to show, how he was appreciated and what a positive

impression on so many. A nice guy from Hungary, who happened to be a good goalkeeper.

....What an Epitaph.....

If somehow somebody more learned on social media collections than I ,could send these

condolences and thoughts to his family ......

So sad, he was brilliant for us,.

Was it Roy Keane who stopped him coming to us permanently?

Yes greedy Mr Keane.   Marton wanted to stay with us and was playing so well.

Great character  ...   his family must be devastated and my heart goes out to them.

... very sad to hear about Marton' passing, he is a huge loss to his family and my heart felt condolences go out to them. Nothing at all against Norway, but this evening I hope Hungary win ... as a tribute to his memory.

Marton was an excellent 'keeper for City, when to be honest we weren't that good a side ... and it's this Marton that I'm sure we'll all remember and celebrate ... Marton Fulop (Leicester City Football Club) Top, Top bloke.

Read the article properly on what Quinn said. He was really nice about him. I've seen the full quote.

Tragic..........32 ? makes you stop and think...

Too right, my youngest lad is 32 and a local league goal keeper.

Very, very sad. Seemed like a genuine lad, condolences to his family. Rest in Peace.

I hope the club have a minute's applause for him before the Man U game. He might not have been with us for long, but he made a big impression. There are two things I always remember about him:

- As he ran towards the kop before kick-off, he'd always make what looked like a 0-0 gesture with his hands. Could be wrong, but I always interpreted it to mean he was looking for a clean sheet. Some hope with that defence...

- Straight after the aforementioned gesture, he'd grab the crossbar and jump up, peering at the fans over the top. Absolute giant of a man, and a talented keeper.

RIP Marton.
