Guest Bilo Posted 12 November 2015 Posted 12 November 2015 How terribly sad. I always kept an eye out for him and his career for a good few years, until he went to Greece and I lost track. He was a genuinely good goalkeeper for us during his time here, certainly stood out in a pretty poor side and I wasn't surprised to see his career go well for a couple of years afterwards. RIP, 32 is absolutely no age at all.
Guest Manini Posted 12 November 2015 Posted 12 November 2015 What a keeper, incredibly sad news. Devastating for his family and friends. RIP
Heymister2015 Posted 12 November 2015 Posted 12 November 2015 Hope it's marked in the next home game! He had wonder games at villa! Sheffield Wednesday, Chelsea away and played part in the gesture at forest! Very sad news and a minutes silence is surely the least we can do??
MattGamble92 Posted 12 November 2015 Posted 12 November 2015 Niall Quinn pissed me off a bit on SSN. The best he could say about him was "he pushed Craig Gordon for his place, and he made Roy Keane think twice about signing Gordon but he did anyway". Would have been far a fitting tribute to have the Birch on, talking about his time at a club who really valued him and wanted him. Anyway at times like this we focus far too much on the football side. His family have lost something irreplaceable. RIP Marton
fuchsntf Posted 12 November 2015 Posted 12 November 2015 On this forum alone 105 replies.I am sure other forums have given their condolences. If these somehow could be sent to his family to show, how he was appreciated and what a positive impression on so many. A nice guy from Hungary, who happened to be a good goalkeeper. ....What an Epitaph..... If somehow somebody more learned on social media collections than I ,could send these condolences and thoughts to his family ......
act smiley Posted 12 November 2015 Posted 12 November 2015 That's just terrible. I thought he'd recovered but it obviously came back. Horrible
Foxfromburbage Posted 12 November 2015 Posted 12 November 2015 A great keeper. Sad news and my thoughts are with his family and friends.
Finnegan Posted 12 November 2015 Posted 12 November 2015 Hungary playing in Norway tonight, wearing black arm bands for Fulop.
Countryfox Posted 12 November 2015 Posted 12 November 2015 So sad, he was brilliant for us,. Was it Roy Keane who stopped him coming to us permanently? Yes greedy Mr Keane. Marton wanted to stay with us and was playing so well. Great character ... his family must be devastated and my heart goes out to them.
Crazy Kop Corner Posted 12 November 2015 Posted 12 November 2015 I started taking my daughter to the football in 2007 and she asked in who was my favourite player and he was the only one I could honestly say at that time I liked and was worthy of wearing the shirt. RIP Marton.
Robin JD Popley Posted 12 November 2015 Posted 12 November 2015 Absolutely devastating news - makes you think how much everyone should just stop worrying about the small things and value life for today. Sleep well Marton; you'll be greatly missed.

GloverFox Posted 12 November 2015 Posted 12 November 2015 ... very sad to hear about Marton' passing, he is a huge loss to his family and my heart felt condolences go out to them. Nothing at all against Norway, but this evening I hope Hungary win ... as a tribute to his memory. Marton was an excellent 'keeper for City, when to be honest we weren't that good a side ... and it's this Marton that I'm sure we'll all remember and celebrate ... Marton Fulop (Leicester City Football Club) Top, Top bloke.
gazagac Posted 12 November 2015 Posted 12 November 2015 RIP Marton. Thanks for your help during a tough time for our club. I'm only sorry we couldn't have helped you when you needed it. RIP
Unabomber Posted 12 November 2015 Posted 12 November 2015 Terrible news, really shocked me at work today when I read it. RIP
Solihullfox Posted 12 November 2015 Posted 12 November 2015 Very very sad day. Sympathy to his friends and most importantly his family who must all be absolutely devastated. Rest in peace

He was really nice about him. I've seen the full quote.
johnny the fox Posted 12 November 2015 Posted 12 November 2015 Tragic..........32 ? makes you stop and think...
BoyJones Posted 12 November 2015 Posted 12 November 2015 Tragic..........32 ? makes you stop and think... Too right, my youngest lad is 32 and a local league goal keeper. Very, very sad. Seemed like a genuine lad, condolences to his family. Rest in Peace.
Elsie Ephsey Posted 12 November 2015 Posted 12 November 2015 I hope the club have a minute's applause for him before the Man U game. He might not have been with us for long, but he made a big impression. There are two things I always remember about him: - As he ran towards the kop before kick-off, he'd always make what looked like a 0-0 gesture with his hands. Could be wrong, but I always interpreted it to mean he was looking for a clean sheet. Some hope with that defence... - Straight after the aforementioned gesture, he'd grab the crossbar and jump up, peering at the fans over the top. Absolute giant of a man, and a talented keeper. RIP Marton.
