foxoffderby Posted 3 January 2016 Posted 3 January 2016 Supreme Leader Snoke could be Darth Plagueis the Wise (the one Emperor Palpatine refers to in Revenge Of The Sith, he tells Anakin he could cheat death and save the people he cared about from dying). Rey is obviously one of the youngsters Luke was training before Kylo went rogue and killed all the jedi's. Luke must have hidden her on Jakku to keep her safe as he knew of her power. I wouldn't be entirely surprised if Rey turned out to be a distant relative of Snoke (Plagueis) either which would make a welcome change from the cliche of a Skywalker being the main character. But didn't Sidious kill Plagueis as mentioned in Revenge of the Sith?
Phube Posted 4 January 2016 Posted 4 January 2016 According to the EU old sith (and presumably Plageious) could pull a horcrux and survive their bodily death and attach to another object/life! Also look at his scars, maybe Sidious thought he'd killed him, but he didn't!

Phube Posted 4 January 2016 Posted 4 January 2016 Didn't Disney ditch the EU for these sequels? Suppose they can pick and choose whats what if they want. Exactly, they can chose the best storylines/characters/lore to suit their films! But discard what they don't!
Steve_Guppy_Left_Foot Posted 4 January 2016 Posted 4 January 2016 While they can do that the 6 films previous are concrete, he was mentioned in Ep 3 so bringing him in to the fold is very much a possibility.
4everfox Posted 5 January 2016 Posted 5 January 2016 But didn't Sidious kill Plagueis as mentioned in Revenge of the Sith? Or so he thought. The illustrations of Darth Plagueis look extremely similar to Supreme Leader Snoke. I'm not saying its true but it would make sense.
Stadt Posted 5 January 2016 Posted 5 January 2016 The Sith rule of two means that there's only supposed to be two Sith alive at once, a master and his apprentice. Sidious killed Plagueis in his sleep apparently
Darkon84 Posted 5 January 2016 Posted 5 January 2016 Not a great deal of insight in this article, but Andy Serkis says Snoke isn't Plageuis http://nerdreactor.com/2016/01/04/andy-serkis-rejects-supreme-leader-snoke-is-darth-plagueis-theory/
Samilktray Posted 5 January 2016 Posted 5 January 2016 I've seen all 7 movies and I literally don't remember half the characters being discussed here. Am I missing something?
Haydos Posted 5 January 2016 Posted 5 January 2016 Snoke being Plagueis wouldn't make sense. And Plagueis manipulated midichlorians to alter life, he wasn't invincible. On that matter, have midichlorians effectively been done away with now with this new canon?

As I said before I just hope he isn't coming from nowhere and there's at least a hint of him in the Sith history.
Captain... Posted 5 January 2016 Posted 5 January 2016 That probably puts the lid on that one then. As I said before I just hope he isn't coming from nowhere and there's at least a hint of him in the Sith history. He's Jar Jar Binks, severely scarred by his inherent clumsiness whilst mastering the powers of the dark side. Have we ruled out the Emperor/Palpitine, a very powerful force user, who studied how to cheat death and resurrect people, he is communicating with Kylo Ren in the same way Yoda and Kenobi did with Luke and he is teaching Kylo how to bring him back from the dead.

Nope midichlorians are here to stay only canon is: 7 films, Clone Wars & Rebels TV, the new TFA books and battlefront game. But I like midichlorians, explains why some are force sensitive or not.
The Doctor Posted 5 January 2016 Posted 5 January 2016 Saw it yesterday. Was pretty decent, doesn't deserve the hype but then it could have all of the best parts of The Godfather, The Shawshank Redemption and 12 Angry Men mixed in together and it wouldn't justify the ridiculous fanboy/girling. But it continues on the mythos pretty well and the plotline does well with beginning the handing over from the old names to the new. Going back to the old styles of animation gave it a better feel, too. I do have one reasonable question that will probably be answered sometime further along: Every Force user who gets anywhere near being really good with it has had to serve under a master or masters to do so. It seems to be a recurring theme, Jedi and Sith both. So...with that in mind, who was the master of Snoke who allowed him to become so seemingly powerful in the Dark Side? It seems like this guy has just come out of nowhere. Probably because that would be a dreadful film - you can't just cut and paste films together and expect it to work. Reckon Snoke is Emperor heart palpitations - never actually saw him die did we, just be thrown over the edge by Vader?
separator Posted 5 January 2016 Posted 5 January 2016 Apparently all the main cast from TFA have signed up to episode 8, including Harrison Ford & Max Von Sydow who both ended up on the wrong end of a lightsabre.
Captain... Posted 7 January 2016 Posted 7 January 2016 http://www.slashfilm.com/star-wars-the-force-awakens-questions/5/ I enjoyed reading this, like the idea of Rey being a Kenobi, and the idea that Luke had turned to the Dark Side, could you imagine the final shot as Rey approaches Luke, he turns glares at her and whips out his lightsabre (not a euphemism) and activates it and it is RED!!! end credits
Webbo Posted 7 January 2016 Posted 7 January 2016 I can't help feeling that some of you chaps take this far too seriously.
Babylon Posted 7 January 2016 Author Posted 7 January 2016 I can't help feeling that some of you chaps take this far too seriously. May the force NOT be with you.

They always said the story was about the Skywalker family line, so the main character not being one goes against that too much.
Webbo Posted 7 January 2016 Posted 7 January 2016 May the force NOT be with you. My light sabre's just gone limp.
Bellend Sebastian Posted 7 January 2016 Posted 7 January 2016 I can't help feeling that some of you chaps take this far too seriously. I've grown up with the films and love them (well the one's that aren't shite, anyway) but all this expanded universe stuff, urrrghh, no thanks. In other news, parents like me who tried to buy a Rey action figure to go with the other Force Awakens ones they got their kids for Christmas but discovered for reasons unknown that the manufacturer had apparently forgotten to make one for the film's main character will no doubt be thrilled that a 12" version is on its way and is definitely not an afterthought made in response to all the complaints that it's 2016 and not 1958 and that women do exist
Finnaldo Posted 7 January 2016 Posted 7 January 2016 I can't help feeling that some of you chaps take this far too seriously. A lot of people say that about football (Not that I'm a particularly big Star Wars fan in any way!)

They always said the story was about the Skywalker family line, so the main character not being one goes against that too much. The Jedi are not supposed to have any children or be in a relationship. I don't think she is a Skywalker or a Kenobi. If she is related to anybody it is more likely to be a Sith or she is just Force sensitive.
