At Christmas you're allowed to dream!

75 points required (approx.) for Champions League spot.... (We can talk title maybe later on)

After 17 games we already have 38 points.

From our 21 remaining games we require 37 points (approx.)

Potentially our next 10 games in a perfect world could bring 30 points, giving us 7 points required from our last 11 games.

Seems easy when put that way. I know you've all done the maths yourselves but it's great to dream!

Come on Leicester, keep up the good form!

Merry Christmas everyone, here's to a fantastic new year! Let's all keep cheering and shouting from the stands!

It may be less points than previous years but there'll be more teams contesting it. There could be a late surge from anywhere, a bit like we did in the Palace playoff season to get top 6.

It's so nice to know we have a guaranteed extra £100m in the bank though, isn't it?

We've got some tough away fixtures coming up though... Seems like we've played all the big teams at home

I think playing away from home suits us to a certain extent..with the other team pushing forward they become more exposed and that is when we pose our largest threat.

We have 11 home games left, only one is against opposition in the current top 7 (ManCity) next week. Our last 10 home games are all against mid to lower teams. If and its a big if, we want to win the league or qualify for the champions league we need to win all 10. That puts us on 68 points, we then need to find as many points as possible from some of the toughest away games in possible.

We still have to travel to Manchester twice, Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool, Crystal Palace, Spurs and Watford.

Home form will be the key but win all the home games plus Villa and Sunderland away and we only need one point from those 8 tricky away days!

Personally, I can see us finishing in the Top Four, but sadly not as Champions. Despite all the praise and plaudits and the terrific team spirit, we're not likely to sustain this run forever.

Arsenal have a way better depth in squad and a couple of injured players about to return which will only boost their already impressive series of results.

However, there's a glimpse of hope due to the fact that their involvement in the Champions League might affect their fitness and freshness.

The league title would be mightily impressive and crown our fairytale story of a season, with a CL participation the following season as the icing on the cake.

It's just one of those things Amy. I'd happily take 3rd place right now, I DON'T know we won't win the league. If there's one thing this season proves (and indeed last season proved) it's that until the final knockings, none of us really knows very much at all! (Apart from the necessary change in formation & mentality/introduction of Albrighton last season - which Kevin Philips comments on in the latest Fox Fanzine - even my Mum knew that).

Would anyone happily "take" second or third now? I know it's all hypothetical, but champion's league or not, sod second or third.

We're playing death or glory football right now (you score one, we'll score three), so we should have a similar attitude to the league. Win the bloody thing or balls it up trying.

Personally i think we'll balls it up, i still wouldn't "take" second.

This is a very good point because it means we can now spend in January knowing those funds are guaranteed.  Not to mention attract players that know for sure they will be playing premier league football again next season (at a minimum).

Looking back now, that 5-2 Arsenal defeat could be significant... Let's try and not bottle the next 6-pointer against Man City at home, eh?

Fair enough. I totally want us to go for it, don't get me wrong. But Champions' League would be something else.....

we won the league mid october imo

We'll just have a procession of managers doing a Mick McCarthy from now on- "They're the best by a million miles, thank fvck it was only 3-0, best team in the world that Leicester".

I'm a little drunk, but I think you mean Mahrez, not Vardy.

I know we won't win the league but I can't help feel the fact our last game is at Stamford bridge with Claudio returning is a sign....

Imagine getting the guard of honour there!
