Webbo Posted 15 January 2016 Posted 15 January 2016 After O'Neill ? Because Matt Gillies is the greatest. The way the season is going Ranieri will surpass them all.
Great Boos Up Posted 15 January 2016 Posted 15 January 2016 He transformed the club. Finances, performance, current squad, scouting, sports science. And we sacked him three times.
Donut Posted 15 January 2016 Posted 15 January 2016 I just think he needs a job, any job, to get back into the game and get managing again. It seems like his stock, despite the great achievements at Leicester, is very low. Im sure he could turn Bristol City around but then again I think it was very harsh to sack Cotterill, he had basically rejuvenated the club from relegation strugglers in league 1, to promotion in great style and a JPT win, and just couldnt get the players to kick on this season in the championship.
Dickov22 Posted 15 January 2016 Posted 15 January 2016 And we sacked him three times. Correct. Disgraceful
Charl91 Posted 15 January 2016 Posted 15 January 2016 I hope he snubs them, just like they snubbed our offer for Nicky Maynard
GaelicFox Posted 15 January 2016 Posted 15 January 2016 Because he's our second greatest manager of all time? Claudio and MON way ahead of him ! Maybe 3rd best Blessing in disguise? Best owners in the premiership Amazing guys !
Kinkuwap Posted 15 January 2016 Posted 15 January 2016 Huge respect for Nigel, can anyone else remember him crying in the sky interview after the play off game against Cardiff City? Think this club meant a lot more to him than he lets on.
GaelicFox Posted 15 January 2016 Posted 15 January 2016 He transformed the club. Finances, performance, current squad, scouting, sports science. His next club are lucky no he didn't ! The club hired the right people
Charl91 Posted 15 January 2016 Posted 15 January 2016 Claudio and MON way ahead of him ! If Claudio finishes top 6 or so, then I'd agree (so, very likely to be fair). But other than that, I think it's too early too say he's better than Nige just yet!
GaelicFox Posted 15 January 2016 Posted 15 January 2016 Huge respect for Nigel, can anyone else remember him crying in the sky interview after the play off game against Cardiff City? Think this club meant a lot more to him than he lets on. He did a great job fair play

Bluetintedspecs Posted 15 January 2016 Posted 15 January 2016 For al those worrying about us losing our backroom staff to NPs new club, surely this would be good news? All the best Nige if true!
GaelicFox Posted 15 January 2016 Posted 15 January 2016 Shocking if he goes there I agree he is too good for that But he is also as mad as a badger in a swimming pool ! So he might realise he ain't getting a better offer ! For al those worrying about us losing our backroom staff to NPs new club, surely this would be good news? All the best Nige if true! Good way to look at it !
Spudulike Posted 15 January 2016 Author Posted 15 January 2016 Huge respect for Nigel, can anyone else remember him crying in the sky interview after the play off game against Cardiff City? Think this club meant a lot more to him than he lets on. That was the night that I made an emotional commitment to Pearson. That said, I wonder if all of those Bristol fans currently posting as love struck teenagers have seen the infamous Ostrich Gate and Pat Murphy video's ??
ramboacdc Posted 15 January 2016 Posted 15 January 2016 hopefully he gets it and dumps west brom out the cup
Lestoh Posted 15 January 2016 Posted 15 January 2016 Don't see how this could be a bad move for him. Pearson is a Championship manager, albeit a very good one. He can turn teams around. Bristol is a big city, I reckon he has something good to build on here. Good luck to him.
filbertstreet Posted 15 January 2016 Posted 15 January 2016 Is it as an apology for sending them Hamer and Moore?
Dan Posted 15 January 2016 Posted 15 January 2016 *Insert funny comment pretending I don't know who he is because I'm an absolute guru of banter and a prize nobhead*
Countryfox Posted 15 January 2016 Posted 15 January 2016 For al those worrying about us losing our backroom staff to NPs new club, surely this would be good news? All the best Nige if true! My first thought BTS and no I can't see them all buggering off there. Result !

Not big enough for two clubs and lots of rugby in area *Insert funny comment pretending I don't know who he is because I'm an absolute guru of banter and a prize nobhead* Are you my daughters boyfriend ? Sound similar
Tuna Posted 15 January 2016 Posted 15 January 2016 Nigel needs a club where he will be allowed to build a team and let it grow over several seasons and one with a stable infastructure, for these reasons Bristol may tick the boxes for him. In my opinion, Nigel can do far better and should wait until a better offer comes in.
Len Finsbury Posted 15 January 2016 Posted 15 January 2016 Don't see how this could be a bad move for him. Pearson is a Championship manager, albeit a very good one. He can turn teams around. Bristol is a big city, I reckon he has something good to build on here. Good luck to him. I agree with this. Bristol is a massive city to have such mediocre football teams. Rovers will never be big but City has the potential with the owners they have. It's a strange situation that NP finds himself in. You can't deny the success in L1 and the Champ and even the great run in to last season but I think he's a media nightmare and this may be something that larger clubs would be put off by. I'm sure he's looked back on his PL experience with us and the mistakes he made that caused all the unwanted media attention and will have learned from it. The great escape surpassed Pulis's Crystal Palace run and when he left Palace, his stock was as high as it could be - NP's isn't and I can only think that it's because of these silly mistakes last season. Either that or there's something else that only those in football know and we're not privy to. Let's face it, he's a guy that's capable of reflection and making changes, look at how the style of play changed from his first reign to the second, so wherever he ends up, he'll not make the same mistakes again.
