Guest Posted 20 January 2016 Posted 20 January 2016 Is it the keeper's gloves nowadays that stop them catching the ball or are they just crap? Last week in the FA Cup he started trying to bat the ball out and had some howlers and then started catching them and looked quite good. Sadly he'll be flapping and batting them again soon.
thybluefox Posted 20 January 2016 Posted 20 January 2016 Ironically the traits you criticize Kasper for are the same as De Gea's weaknesses. DDG has terrible distribution and is hardly the best at crosses either. Kasper has pretty good distribution in my opinion, his goal kick led to our goal on Saturday. He does get over excited by going for it leading to throw ins though. Crosses I'll give you! 'DDG'... got slated for his ability to handle crosses when he join Man U, but he's markably improved since.

They're just crap! Catching was more of a British thing wasn't it? European goalies have always been more prone to punch it and it's gradually crept into the English game. It's understandable in a few situations, but generally you'd think they would want to hold on to it more. Kasper likes punching them even when there is no call for it at all, so he wont change now.

I know 'DDG' has improved but I would hardly say that's what he's renowned for. I always loved Barthez and the way he claimed crosses. Pat Jennings too... Shilton was pretty poor at crosses.

Russell sprout Posted 23 January 2016 Posted 23 January 2016 Kasper is really underrated, sure he can make rash decisions, but he's always gonna earn you more points than he loses you,his handling today was great and his save at 1-0 was as important as vardys goal,he seems to love the club and seems the the perfect teammate to be around

He does win us points, he can pull of some class saves and ultimately he's a great shot stopper. I certainly get the impression he's passionate about this club.
MPH Posted 24 January 2016 Posted 24 January 2016 Kasper is a good premier league keeper. But we needed a winger? We bought grey. We needed a midfielder? We bought Kante. I am very relaxed with the idea that should we choose to sell Kasper, we will purchase an absolute gem to replace him.
katieakita Posted 24 January 2016 Posted 24 January 2016 For some Kasper will never be great because he is not as good as his Dad, Danny Simpson will always be a crap footballer because of his personal life and Wes Morgan will always be dodgy because he is from Nottingham and supports Forest. I have followed Leicester for too long but this expecting us to win every week is an odd feeling, got this in the !st division and again in the championship but never expected it in the premiership. All i have ever expected is for the players to give and look like they are giving 100%. That should not be to much to ask but i am sure we can all name teams and players who do not do that. Kasper is a team player who plays with passion and pride. He is part of a squad that plays as a team and plays to win, goalkeeper is an unforgiving position and with our league place he must be doing something right and think personally he is long term part of our plans, don't think we should underestimate what Schwarzer brings in training to help Kaspers game but think we need to look to bring in a better No 2
ozleicester Posted 24 January 2016 Posted 24 January 2016 DDG will be sold in the next 6 months, Manu will be linked with everyone, and will buy someone. Kasper is definitly possible.
Bryn Posted 24 January 2016 Posted 24 January 2016 I fancy Kasper stays here as long as we want him, seems very settled, very much a leader in that dressing room. Don't think he'd swap that for warming the bench even of a massive club.

fox_favourite Posted 24 January 2016 Posted 24 January 2016 I can't see Kasper leaving if I'm honest. I would be very sirprised, and I doubt the club would ever let him go easily either.

Transfer embargo for Real Madrid who were heavily linked with him, don't think anybody else needs or has the funds to sign him? My theory is that they will either... get an injunction that allows them to buy in June.... or they will but him in this window. They want him.. and he wants to be there... it will happen

I think it's safe to say the same thing will happen with Real.
dannythefox Posted 24 January 2016 Posted 24 January 2016 Kasper is easy replaceable so I'm not that bothered if he left.
ROB-THE-BLUE Posted 24 January 2016 Posted 24 January 2016 If Utd come in for him as a first choice keeper he'll go, he's a Utd fan and the lure would be too much.
ramboacdc Posted 24 January 2016 Posted 24 January 2016 If Utd come in for him as a first choice keeper he'll go, he's a Utd fan and the lure would be too much. His dad is more like.
ROB-THE-BLUE Posted 24 January 2016 Posted 24 January 2016 His dad is more like. He's a Utd fan mate, trust me.
AyewJoking Posted 24 January 2016 Posted 24 January 2016 He's a Utd fan mate, trust me. theres a difference between being a man utd fan and wanting to play for man utd.
ROB-THE-BLUE Posted 24 January 2016 Posted 24 January 2016 theres a difference between being a man utd fan and wanting to play for man utd. If the team you support wanted you as a first choice player, would you not be tempted?!
