Our recent dip in form can partly be down to a change in style but lots of other factors working against us too, such as Vardy's injuries and Mahrez being off colour.

I think we will see a return to our best against Stoke with high pressing and attacking efficiency.

I think Claudio is smart enough to know what got us top and actually if you watch him on the touchline, he is always gesturing for the players to push up. Part of it might be the team adopting a less gun-ho approach as they naturally fear losing what they have and are leaning towards the conservative side of playing. They need to shake that idea straight away and just go for it and back to scoring 3 goals a game with attack attack attack mentality!

Quite possibly hit the nail on the head there... It does look like all Ranieri has worked on in training though is the defensive side. Being Italian I think he was having near death experiences watching our defending every week!

It's annoying to watch at the minute. Yes we aren't a possession side but we normally create more chances than the opposition, we don't seem to be doing that at the minute. Just very defensive

We used to scare the s*** out of teams by literally running at them full pelt from the off causing all sorts of defensive mistakes which led to a lot of openings and goals for us, we've stopped doing this recently and we need to reverse this as soon as possible. We were so hard to handle from a defenders point of view but we've slowed our game down so much since the Chelsea home game.

Look at offloading Ulloa, Dyer and Inler. Replace them with a much better forward, supplemented by a creative, attacking midfielder who can both score goals and set up goals.

I'd like to see Sigurdsson here, for example. THAT would make a difference.

Currently impossible. We've only got three proper senior strikers in our ranks.

Yeah and I've got a good idea.. Let's loan out our most expensive striker!.. Great thinking claudio!

Counter attacking without an attacking option is like trying to **** without a cock: pointless.

With Vardy and Mahrez marked out of the game, even if they are on form, leaves us with just that: Kante or Drinky picks up the ball - doesn't quickly pass to pass to Mahrez or Vardy - but now sees the two men on Mahrez and Vardy with no space.

So, what can Ranieri do? Get us into a counter attacking formation while knowing we can't do much with it, or get us playing deep and hope we score from a set piece, which we're slowly getting better at?

He needs to switch attention from defence, which was most definitely needed at the start of the season, to another attacking option. And this may be coming with Shinji's improvements.

And Gray (or Jeff to boost the attacking threat). I feel bad for Albrighton, because he's done little wrong this season, but, unlike his counterpart, he doesn't look like winning us matches, whereas Gray might.

Ranieri is starting to put his stamp on the team sadly, deep and defensive. He is slowly killing the style that Pearson finally managed to successfully implement, and we look dog turd as a result

I agree with a lot of the comments - Ulloa sadly no longer looks good enough - Dyer plays with little intelligence and is so easily brushed off the ball. Rainieri has become too cautious...

But one thing any successful team needs is goals from midfield. Drink water and Kante may have been brilliant for the most part but we'll be lucky if they finish the season with five goals between them. King has stopped scoring, ditto Albrighton, Inler never shoots - though I thought his break up play and passing was good tonight.

So opponents know if they can stop Mahrez and Vardy they can pretty much stop us as any kind of attacking threat. Okazaki seems capable of becoming a third scorer but he always gets limited game time. To make the step up we must find a ten-12 goal a season midfielder.

It was only a matter of time till the CR effect set in and our style of play changed.

I said this on another tread months ago, hope he realises and we go back to our attacking brand of football that got us where we are

To cover all bases, so to speak, perhaps we should sign a strap-on! :D   :scarf:

Sorry but this is all a bunch of utter BS. We never went for it he'll for leather from the kick off, never played the high press, and never had more possession than our opponents. We could get on top of games in parts, but often relied on sharp interceptions and quick breaks. Not surprisingly others were thinking of how to stop us, and even less surprisingly a couple of players have not maintained their standards which were unbelievable in terms of assists and goals. We'd still have won the last two home games if we'd scored from the spot.

It gets harder from here onwards, but for goodness sake let's stop pretending we played brilliant passing and pressing football. We won games, so we were happy.

And Claudio has been brilliant whatever happens from here.
