I've been on them for 2 years, so I guess they just lost their efficacy.   They certainly helped for my circular thoughts though, which is becoming an issue again now the dose is lower.

Right now, I need a sleep most afternoons

Were you on 20mg?

Stage 1 sickness absence procedure is being invoked now.  I know its just procedure, and I know its not personal, but why do I feel like I'm being picked on?

A woman can have a kid and **** off for months on end on paid leave.  Come back, get knocked up again, and **** off again.

Sorry, I just needed to have a rant.

I know how you feel,  it does feel personal and I used to be quite resentful of it.

But often within a workplace starting the sickness procedure opens up more support, at least it did at my previous employers. It meant access to counselling among other things, which wasn't available before being on a stage within the absence process.

Have you been offered much support from your employer?

I know its just process.  I have been offered, effectively, everything I could think they could offer.

I don't need any more talking therapy, what I need is time for the changeover of meds, and also understanding that the NHS is a bit... turd at the moment which adds on time and frustration when it comes to appointments etc.

I had to privately fund a CPAP machine because the NHS didn't have a man to sign a form for example.   The kit works though.

Do your workplace offer a route into the private healthcare sector?

Hopefully they are allowing you the time you need and their absence process is not too intrusive for you

No route to private health care.  It would be SO beneficial to them if they did.

Cut your pills in half for 2 weeks, and if you can handle no tablets for the third week, you will be free.

After just 1 day of cutting the pill in half I feel crap!!... headache and awful nightmares last night!..... don't think coming off these is going to be easy 😪!!

Not posted on here for a couple of months as I was getting roughly back on track. Found out tonight that my dad's oldest friend, basically my uncle, died suddenly at the LRI this afternoon. Can't even begin to process it yet. Whole family is in shock and devastation. Life really is just cruel.

Funeral's on Friday and I'm helping to carry him in. Looking through the family photo archives to print out for next has exhausted me with grief. This one is so ****ing painful.

Trying to stick with my New Years mantra of having a more positive mentality. Been going to work with my dad a bit. He had a job where I could help him So got a bit more money.

Still have to fight with myself to get up when I do go with him. Things that should be the norm aren’t normal for me.

Just have to keep plugging away at it. Every days a new day :)

Doesn’t feel normal - but it is for very many others…you’re not alone in feeling this.

Top bombing for doing it regardless. Big up yourself.

Good on you. Getting out there and doing something rather than sat at home stewing in your own thoughts (ive done it many times). Best thing in the world to help is to be occupied doing something meaningful. Hope it all goes well for you bud 👍

A) I'm fine

B) The person in the world I care most about is trying to extricate herself from a toxic situation. I've been threatened (all talk) because he knows we get on in a way they never will

C) We're having to not communicate to protect us both, and the not knowing is very difficult, the letting go is very difficult

D) I have to let the universe take care of it, and hope she finds the strength to do what is best for her

I think it depends on what dose you are on - ie 40 to 20 is quite a big change, 20 to 10 less so.  I managed 20 to 10 over a couple of weeks ok, but when I try to stop completely, I get headaches, brain zapps etc.

So the headaches are normal then?

I've got a Sickness Absence Review meeting on Weds.  They aren't following the procedure correctly.

I hope they are as scared of me as I am!

That sounds like a very difficult situation, I hope it works out for both of you

Depending on what they are doing wrong, not following the procedure can work in your favour, I've had whole periods of absence removed from my disciplinary record in the past due to the procedure not being followed correctly.

Obviously if it is an aspect which is to your detriment this is not relevant, but I'm sure you have it covered. Good luck!

I'm reducing 20 to 10... day 6.. getting a bit easier!  But yes, coming off them completely is going to be a challenge.

To add to the debate, I've been on Sertraline, Citalopram and Fluoxetine and definitely would recommend Sertraline, particularly if sleep is an issue, it seems to do its job quietly in the background.

Citalopram was OKbut I gained loads of weight whilst on it.

Wasn't on Fluoxetine long enough to offer much comment.

50mg tablets obtained.

Absence review meeting cancelled (HR didn't like the sound of it!!)

Am being left alone by work for a month til I have OH meeting. By which time, I will, hopefully be patched up.

LCFC are seriously making me question my positive thinking mantra at the moment.

So tough, I realise where we’ve been and what we’ve been through. But all i ask for us to compete and some effort shown and we’re even lacking in that at the moment 😢
