Merry Christmas all, remember however bad it is, it always passes. Or else you’d have never survived to this moment. I hope people have had a good day, and for those who don’t enjoy Christmas, it’s been tolerable. You’re all great!

The period after Christmas is always hard. The world cup was a big distraction and something to fill the void for me. After that it was Christmas, even though it's more of an obligation to celebrate stuff than anything - oh well, something to pass the time. Now it's back to work soon and there isn't much to look forward to.

Could belong in the "grinds my gears" thread but I'm sick to death of hearing people use the term "bipolar" to mean "someone/something that changes from up to down at the flick of a switch".

Even leaving aside that it's not very respectful, it makes no sense. Considering how many people suffer from it you'd think more people would have some understanding of how it works, but it seems like it's one of the few afflictions that no one knows anything about but likes to mention all the time.

It's the same with people chucking around the term "OCD" in relation to things being neat and tidy.

Most folk have no clue what OCD really is and might refrain from using the term loosely if they actually did.

3rd "normal" day in a row!

Didn't last long.   I overdid it with a long drive.  Now I'm back down again.  At least I know what impacts on it now.

This illness doesn't come with a manual!

I dunno, I think it's worse than that. It's the idea that people with bipolar are constantly unpredictable when manic episodes are usually pretty rare, especially with medication.

Similarly, it really annoys me when people say they 'are' OCD, and they 'have mental health'. Makes no sense.

Its Not helped by the fact I can’t in touch with the people who I usually speak to when I feel like this.

Don't want to lecture but try to avoid too much booze. At least for me it's a big trigger for depression. I get how you feel, I often feel pretty lonely and it's only intensified at this time of year. I hope you can get some more support in the coming year.

I've suffered from the illness/disease (it eats away at you, making you feel hopeless) for the past year and a half. I've often contemplated about ending my life in the last few weeks. I go to university but can't say I particular enjoy it. I rarely turn up to university through anxiety and fear.

I haven't told my parents/friends. My friends see me in a completely different light. A cocky, light-hearted individual.

A combination of guilt and comforting myself by listening to music has meant I haven't taken my life, however I feel completely and utterly miserable. I spoke to my course leader about it, and ended up breaking down half way through the meeting. I really do think leaving university would be the best thing to do, I think it would make me happier, but I'd feel like a failure towards my parents who have obviously paid lots of money for me to come here.

I'd also like to thank this current Leicester team/staff for giving me hope. What Ranieri, Mahrez, Kante, Vardy and co have achieved this season is unbelievable, and it gives me real hope to carry and battle on. Even if we don't win the league, this campaign has been amazing and made me almost forget the Taylor/Levein/Holloway years...

Anyway, I'm not sure what my intention was to post this on here, I just wanted to know if anyone has ever felt anything similar to me, and what they did to combat this.

Read my book . It might inspire you. For Pete's Sake - A mountain to climb. It's on amazon
