ozleicester Posted 3 March 2016 Posted 3 March 2016 lolololol, woke up, got cuppa tea, checked the BBC website.... first result - Arse V Swans... a little smile 2nd result - Spurs V Wham... an involuntary... YES and a big smile 3rd result - Liverpool v Mancity... genuine laughter and a disturbing feeling of, this is our year What a night of results
City1884 Posted 3 March 2016 Posted 3 March 2016 According to the experts it takes on average 10 games to overhaul a 10 point deficit This. When you get to a point where you are more points ahead than the same number of games to be played, you are pretty much safe from that team. The same (in general) applies at the bottom of the league. (Last year was an exception ) 10 points adrift with 10 games to go is highly unlikely to be overturned. A team in mid table form would get 15 points from 10 games, a title chasing team would in general only get 20-22 points from 10 games. Not saying it can't be done, but Man Utd have a huge deficit to claw back, bigger than it looks at first glance.
WesMorganGod Posted 3 March 2016 Posted 3 March 2016 Fantastic night for us.. we gained a point on Spurs, Arsenal and Man City. that could be crucial. Now on saturday we really need Spurs vs Arsenal to be a draw!!! if that game is a draw and we can beat Watford, then the title is strongly in our reach, without question.
AyewJoking Posted 3 March 2016 Posted 3 March 2016 thinking back to when arsenal "won" the league on valentines day. 5 points behind us and 1-0 down they were on top of the world to win it in the final seconds and close he gap to within touching distance. 2 games later they're now 6 points behind us
Buce Posted 3 March 2016 Posted 3 March 2016 The only downside to last night is that United and WHam are now right in the mix for a top-four spot. Suddenly our run-in could see us facing two top-four sides.
char123 Posted 3 March 2016 Posted 3 March 2016 Be honest how many of tonight's results did you see coming? Liverpool for me and that's it fvcking love itYeah liverpool for me as well although i did think west ham may nick a point but what a night it turned out to be. We could do with getting the goal difference between us and spurs a bit closer though because how gutting would it be to lose the title on goal difference!!!
yorkie1999 Posted 3 March 2016 Posted 3 March 2016 Great night, but without putting a downer on things, it's something we needed rather than wanted after last night. We can't rely on other teams losing if we actually have such aspirations. Tonight we thank West Ham, Liverpool, Swansea... All attention needs to be on getting a result on Saturday now. Why not, they're relying on us to lose.
Thracian Posted 3 March 2016 Posted 3 March 2016 Said to a friend on Monday that everyone's saying we've dropped two points against West Brom but it could end up that we've gained one because West Ham are well capable of beating Spurs and a decent egg-whisk could beat Arsenal with their ready made "referee didn't see it" excuse. They and Spurs should be glad we've been generous because, in motor racing terms, we could be lapping them by now had we taken some of our more gift-wrapped opportunities. Two penalties, two point blank headers and my belief w'd have beaten Arsenal but for the sending off would have spoken for seven or eight points! We shouldn't worry about the big London derby Saturday - just concentrate on being positive against Watford and imagining we're still chasing those 40 points for survival. I loved the way we kept creating chances and striving for victory against West Brom and hope we never get suffocated into the self-doubt of any other attitude. I also loved Susan Whelan's comment in the accounts about creating a club that the city and community can be proud of. Because that's how I most felt driving home from watching the West Brom game - proud of our approach, of runs like Vardy's when he covered 50 yards and gained about 40 to win the ball on the touchline against a seemingly panic-striken defender, like the sublime skill of our second goal, and like the way we didn't offer any kind of excuses about "luck" because we only got a point. What a great game it was to watch. Such nerve-wracking drama. But what wholehearted entertainment...as so often this season.
HighPeakFox Posted 3 March 2016 Posted 3 March 2016 Never agreed with Thracian more. That Vardy chase was one of my favourite things ever.
cjslcfc Posted 3 March 2016 Posted 3 March 2016 Never agreed with Thracian more. That Vardy chase was one of my favourite things ever. And yet it was so obvious what the outcome would be as well. Was it McAuley who he took the ball off? Poor fella was probably having flashbacks to last season at the Hawthorns!

Well done for writing the post the I couldn't be bothered / too lazy to write… I agree!

Chester Dontlie Posted 3 March 2016 Posted 3 March 2016 Utd concern me a bit like Utd were lucky, Watford should've annihilated them in the first half, Ighalo could easily score a hattrick but just nothing went in. He's the real concern imo. I hope Morgan can fit him in his pocket somehow
Foxmeister Posted 3 March 2016 Posted 3 March 2016 Utd concern me a bit like Me too but we only need 21 points to finish above them even if they win every game
Corky Posted 3 March 2016 Posted 3 March 2016 We might not win the title but nights like this are part of being a fan. The nerves, anticipation and ultimate joy/relief of rivals slipping up is part of the process. Whatever the end result, the individual moments make up so much.
Foxmeister Posted 3 March 2016 Posted 3 March 2016 It was a shock to say the least that so many results went our way last night, but it was nothing short of a miracle we didn't win Tuesday, I'll leave the negativity of the 'Leicester are bottling it!' brigade to those who judge us on the result, safe in the knowledge that on any other day we'd have won about 8-2. I remember drawing against Leeds in the 2nd game of our Championship winning season and some super charged w4nker arguing on a FB site that it was relegation form!?! We've got 10 games to go, nobody we've got left to play has beaten us this season and we've got 26 points off them, a repeat of that will almost certainly get us there and if we don't win the title we've already achieved far more than most of us ever imagined.
M0901 Posted 3 March 2016 Posted 3 March 2016 Maybe ive supported leicester so long that im always waiting for it all to go pear shaped. Still even now im thinking i hope we can finish top 4. I know after everything ive seen this season i should have faith we could actually win the league. Is anyone else still thinking champions league is not guaranteed? Yeah in all honesty I'd believe if we were 4 points clear on the last day we'd still find a way to finish 2nd
Countryfox Posted 3 March 2016 Posted 3 March 2016 INFVCKINCREDIBLE !!!!!!!!!! D'you ever get the feeling it could be our year. no Countryfox we Leicester fans pessmisted till the end, this is all a dream to me still Quite right SF66 and I apologise for my alcohol fuelled outburst. I now have things back in perspective. As I see it we (little Leicester) are like a young fit exciting horse running like the wind over the final furlong in our first race and behind us are 3 (yes 3 !) fire breathing thoroughbreds one length behind. How the fvck are we going to win the race. Not possible. Maybe beat one ... but not all three ... never in a million years .... I feel a lot more relaxed now.
