Zsolt Laczkó Posted 3 March 2016 Posted 3 March 2016 Hello Ladies and gents. How many have you have experienced the theory I refer to as 'plastic fan turncoats' I'll give you a prime example I car share with a plastic United fan. We had a meeting today with some contractors and they congratulated him on Leicester's success (assumed he was a city fan) and he agreed saying yes 'we should go on and win it' WE? Haha I laughed my head off. He was lauding over this like the cat that got the cream. This is one of many examples. A few more 'Liverpool' fans that live locally suddenly announce they are die hard Leicester. I'd love to hear about your guys experiences as it really makes me laugh. I remember seeing Blackburn Rovers shirts randomly being worn way back when they won it. I think we could see this trend appearing if we go on and win it in random towns across the land!
Hammered Posted 3 March 2016 Posted 3 March 2016 I remember seeing Blackburn Rovers shirts randomly being worn way back when they won it. I think we could see this trend appearing if we go on and win it in random towns across the land! Yeah and now their stadium is half empty... Can't speak for Leicester's plastics, but I've witnessed a case of possible turncoat from alleged Arse-fan following yesterday's defeat. Bloke said "Why do I even support this team, I should go and support West Ham instead". don't even bother mate
johnny the fox Posted 3 March 2016 Posted 3 March 2016 apparently there are loads of plastic fans in hong kong.

I would have exposed him.
Matt Posted 3 March 2016 Posted 3 March 2016 Yeah there's a bloke I work with who used to love winding me up back when we were shit, now he's all over our success. There are also several Arsenal, Chelsea, Man City and Man Utd plastics who have all of a sudden bought shirts and managed to spawn tickets to games, sometimes getting away tickets that I didn't even manage to get, but that's another story that's been discussed a few times in other threads! Then of course you hear the comments at the matches that you just have to smile to yourself about; "Who's that?", On the Norwich game @ approx 85 minutes "Let's go, this is the worst game i've seen in 4 or 5 years" hmmmm, well i've never seen you before, of course that doesn't mean you're not a regular but that mixed with your OTT comment think says alot about how many games you've come to see in 4 or 5 years....By the way, that's why you don't leave games early aswell. I suppose it's something to be proud of and it's gonna happen, but you just know they'll go crawling back under the woodwork, if the going get's tough (Hopefully it's not going to, hopefully we'll keep competing at the top, but that fact remains)
Guest MattP Posted 3 March 2016 Posted 3 March 2016 Liverpool fan for years in my local now going every week buying tickets on his gold membership. As late as Christmas last season was singing songs calling us shit, infuriating to be honest when he's going to some games I'm not.
Fatty Arbuckle Posted 3 March 2016 Posted 3 March 2016 It did make me laugh on Tuesday when the away fans were singing where were you when you were sh**? I'm surprised it's taken this long for any away supporters to think of that one!! On the one hand I'm massively proud that I was there when we were sh**, but at the same time it's quite annoying that others assume we're all glory supporters now!
Guest Electric Yetis Posted 3 March 2016 Posted 3 March 2016 My boss is a Brummie with Birmingham City sympathies. Recently started asking about getting City tickets.
Stadt Posted 3 March 2016 Posted 3 March 2016 It's easier for fans to get away with being plastic now though, we sell out now so "it's hard to get tickets" just like it is for Arsenal and Man U. The plastic fan likes to celebrate success but doesn't want to have to actually follow their team
EnglishOxide Posted 3 March 2016 Posted 3 March 2016 My mate, 27, born n bred in Leicester. Been to a couple of Leicester matches over the years with his step dad, but was always adamant he was a Chelsea fan since 99. Even though I know for a fact it started in 2004. The other day we talk about Leicester and suddenly he is dropping in 'WE are looking good, WE have taken everybody by surprise, WE are better than so and so'. **** off you disgraceful cvnt!
CollinsLCFC Posted 3 March 2016 Posted 3 March 2016 My Dad had never actively followed Leicester. Always been his team, but never bothered going down when I have offered in the past. Now, he's buying all the unofficial cheap merchandise, constantly speaks about Leicester and gloats about how well 'That fella Mahrez' and the 'black bloke in midfield' are. Changed his Facebook profile picture to the 'Foxes Never Quit' edited thing. Bless him. He has never supported another team, but never really followed Leicester like he is now.
Soar Fox Posted 3 March 2016 Posted 3 March 2016 Plenty of them at my work all the one's who used to be Man Utd & Liverpool "fans" are now big Leicester supporters. There's one bloke who only got a season ticket last year, complained from October till April that he had been ripped off. Laughed at me when I renewed mine as it looked like we were going down, I asked him if he was renewing, his answer was "why do I want to pay to watch championship football"
jmono84 Posted 3 March 2016 Posted 3 March 2016 Got a lad I play footy with... Always used to wear the black Man U top and was a Man U supporter for about 10odd years I've known him. About 2 months ago he said he had always supported Leicester but only when we are PL team because there wasn't enough coverage when we were in championship!!
Voll Blau Posted 3 March 2016 Posted 3 March 2016 Hold the moral high ground lads, hold it well. They'll never feel what we do.
Danizen Posted 3 March 2016 Posted 3 March 2016 They're fvcking everywhere. I can't believe the gall of them. Whatever happened to 'through thick and thin'? I thought changing the team you support was the worst thing you could do as a football fan. I remember having arguments with glory supporters when I was a kid and their comeback was, "I might not be from Manchester but I'll always support them. Even if they're down in Division 3." Yeah rightio, die-hard. You put us plastics to shame.
yorkie1999 Posted 3 March 2016 Posted 3 March 2016 The problem with them is they get a ticket for a game, turn up, then boo if we don't win. My mate reckoned he heard a bit of booing at the west brom game on the radio, although i didn't at the game.
GaelicFox Posted 3 March 2016 Posted 3 March 2016 Two local harborough lads I see in the boozer always wearing Liverpool tops Coming out of Arsenal that Sunday and there was the two boyos with blue and white scarves on , I couldn't resist the following Friday in pub and asked them if the blue and white disease would pass soon They didn't know where to look And then last Sunday as bold as brass in the two daffodils were watching the cup finals with Liverpool tops on I was told by the bright sparks that most locals in Leics support Liverpool and Leicester , I laughed and I said you don't see many people praying at mosque on Friday and Mass on Sunday !
shawy2510 Posted 3 March 2016 Posted 3 March 2016 Seen a few plastics popping up & about haha. Once a Fox always a Fox no matter what
Bayfox Posted 3 March 2016 Posted 3 March 2016 Hold the moral high ground lads, hold it well. They'll never feel what we do. This. I'm only 36 and didn't start going till I was 9. But the pleat era. The Oxford game. The crap at this ground after micky left. The heartache of Blackburn and Swindon. The spurs final. Those cunting games at Cardiff and Watford. That's why this feels so sweet. Not just because you buy a shitty half and half scarf. Or have been to the KP this season. Plymouth away on a Tuesday night twice. Boro in the snow. That's the shit that makes it real. Out the ****ers and don't offer to buy them tickets.

This is the best hypothetical example I have ever witnessed
shawy2510 Posted 3 March 2016 Posted 3 March 2016 Boro in the snow haha. I remember walking 4 miles each way to go & see it even when it was being shown on the tv
Guest Bob Hazels shorts Posted 3 March 2016 Posted 3 March 2016 We seem to have an influx of plastic mercats that insist on leaping to their feet when something exiting happens....such as a throw in! Bound to happen with so many new fans. Clapper comes in handy
