Izzy Posted 23 March 2016 Posted 23 March 2016 Gary sums it up perfectly It should be so enjoyable yet It's so agonising Yep, think he was speaking for most of us there!
Trav Le Bleu Posted 23 March 2016 Author Posted 23 March 2016 I started a thread about this yesterday and even posted a handy link and it got half the posts this one did. Did no mod think to merge?

UpTheLeagueFox Posted 23 March 2016 Posted 23 March 2016 Couldn't bring myself to listen purely because of Pat Murphy. If there's an edit of it without him, I'm in!
Tuna Posted 23 March 2016 Posted 23 March 2016 I thought Pat Murphy was out of order the way he pursued Nigel after ostrichgate, which bordered on interrogation. He even suggested Nigel should take anger management which was outrageous. Nigel apologised to Baker at the beginning of the press conference and that should have been the end of it.
Soar Fox Posted 23 March 2016 Posted 23 March 2016 To be fair though I thought Pat was quite knowledgable about us and he spoke highly of Nigel Pearson.
SpinneyHillRanger Posted 23 March 2016 Posted 23 March 2016 like the fact... fabio capello, marcelo lippi and many other italians are hoping for Us and particularly Ranieri to do it

Murphy has moaned a few times (to the club) that he didn't get a one-on-one pre match interview with manager / players once we got into the Premier League. He could only ask questions within a general press conference. "Other clubs allow us to do this and that..." etc. He had a bee in his bonnet when Ostrichgate happened. Pearson was rude and out of order the night before and once the apology (which was genuine, I was there at the presser) was accepted, it should've pretty much been the end of the story. Murphy wanted to make the story about him. "Look at me, what a great interrogator I am." Virtually everyone I've spoken to in the BBC cringed with embarrassment at his interview. He's not hugely popular with his colleagues. As a journalist, I respect a lot of what he's done. But he's rarely easy to deal with. One might call him an analogue broadcaster in a digital world.

This, I am seriously considering a very strongly worded letter to the powers that be. If this is the state of the world I'm out.
limeydale Posted 24 March 2016 Posted 24 March 2016 I'm listening to it here http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p03nvj5d
trabuch Posted 24 March 2016 Posted 24 March 2016 I'm listening to it here http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p03nvj5d Thank you from an overseas (for a while - with limited internet) fox. But I agree (love him though I do) that NFP needs anger management therapy. And I am there for Andy King's testimonial.
ScouseFox Posted 24 March 2016 Posted 24 March 2016 lmao "we in italy at the gas station at the shop they talk about wes morgan" yeahhhhh
ScouseFox Posted 24 March 2016 Posted 24 March 2016 loving gary too, always a leicester fan more than a reporter etc. gotta agree with his description of this season being quite horrible too. through the week it's sick as, but ive rarely enjoyed a second half less than the last few, ever. painful as anything to sit through .
SpinneyHillRanger Posted 24 March 2016 Posted 24 March 2016 Italians do love their defenders.... Maybe they can appreciate Wes Morgan for what he does.
Raj Posted 24 March 2016 Posted 24 March 2016 I started a thread about this yesterday and even posted a handy link and it got half the posts this one did. Did no mod think to merge? My thread was better titled Bro...
Babylon Posted 24 March 2016 Posted 24 March 2016 Murphy was trying so hard to come across knowledgable, but he seemed more like he was reading something direct from the local rag, than he really knew his stuff.
AmyLGK Posted 24 March 2016 Posted 24 March 2016 Aw just listened to King talking about the Stockport game - I took my husband (then boyfriend) to that game (he supports newcastle). We were right behind the goal. The ball went out of play and my husband kicked it back onto the pitch but scuffed it and it went off into the home stand to lots of jeers...very amusing! To this day he keeps insisting Stockport should have signed him
kingcarr21 Posted 24 March 2016 Posted 24 March 2016 Whats that. The boss has gone to France. Sat in the corner of the office where nobody can see my screen. Will give this a listen now
Mythyaar Posted 24 March 2016 Posted 24 March 2016 I know Murphy was out of line with Pearson last year, but he did give some good insights into how Ranieri operates. Shakes every reporter's and photographer's hand before each press conference! The reference to his sense of humour and handing out to the players the bells was good. And the fact that he gives the players two days off each week which is rare in this day and age. All interesting stuff. Enjoyed the rest of the show too and the reference to the Italians newly found obsession with Leicester City with Capello, Lippi et al willing Ranieri and Leicester to succeed. Stating the bleeding obvious but the Italian guy saying that Italian managers know how to set teams up to succeed. But also mentioning that Ranieri had never won a league title and so regardless of his skills in managing the players and our expectations, he was bound to be getting nervous now. And the Italian Sky TV viewing audiences doubling from the usual viewing figures whenever we were shown. That phenomenon bound to be duplicated the world over. We now need to seal the deal and win the league! If anything, this show was made a bit too prematurely!
