Alex_LCFC Posted 12 May 2016 Posted 12 May 2016 The only reason i think he hasnt been selected, other than he may be injured is that roy has picked him for the senior team. Although I highly doubt it
rmahrez Posted 12 May 2016 Posted 12 May 2016 The only reason i think he hasnt been selected, other than he may be injured is that roy has picked him for the senior team. Although I highly doubt it 40/1 to get in the squad possibly worth a punt. Would be a very strange selection though
Aus Fox Posted 12 May 2016 Posted 12 May 2016 Champions of England + bit part player + English = he's getting called up.
stevelcfc Posted 12 May 2016 Posted 12 May 2016 He'll be in Thailand won't he? Not interested in playing in the tournament and would rather be with his team mates celebrating, then off to Vegas.
Jimothy Posted 12 May 2016 Posted 12 May 2016 Or we're resting him for Saturday's game? Eh? We're talking about him being left out of the U21 tournament squad. I don't they're playing a tournament between now and our game this weekend, which is Sunday btw.
ScouseFox Posted 12 May 2016 Posted 12 May 2016 no rashford, no jordan ibe, few other obvious u21s not on that list either.
Jimothy Posted 12 May 2016 Posted 12 May 2016 no rashford, no jordan ibe, few other obvious u21s not on that list either. Rashford, with no U21 caps, is hardly what is call an obviously U21.
ScouseFox Posted 12 May 2016 Posted 12 May 2016 Rashford, with no U21 caps, is hardly what is call an obviously U21. i'd say a man utd regular who is u21 is a pretty obvious england u21 player. apparently gray, rashford & ibe weren't available due to "other commitments". liverpool in the europa league final i guess, united in the FA cup final and gray, err, getting sucked off in thailand probs.
NewEnglandFox Posted 12 May 2016 Posted 12 May 2016 33/1 for Gray to be named for England. Get your punts in boys.

A jolly to Thailand isn't a reason to miss a FIFA sanction tournament . Might as well say he's going to Vardy's wedding
ScouseFox Posted 12 May 2016 Posted 12 May 2016 A jolly to Thailand isn't a reason to miss a FIFA sanction tournament . Might as well say he's going to Vardy's wedding yeah i thought that. but i searched twitter and most the replies were people saying gray wasn't selected as he "wasn't available". dunno what they means or if it's true but interesting that chilwell was and gray wasn't? could have a fun game of read too much into it and decide that either chilwell has already left us or gray is starting for england against andy king in a few weeks time. i vote b.

Weirdly him making the squad seems the most likely outcome. He wouldn't be allowed to pull out of an England squad at any level to go on a holiday even if it's with his club, they wouldn't accept that as a reason, he'd be expected to join up.
foxes21 Posted 12 May 2016 Posted 12 May 2016 Could the club have said no, to Gray playing in the tournament? Lets face it no-one cares about the U21 tournament, and we might be trying to avoid unnecessary injury?
possiblygeorge Posted 13 May 2016 Posted 13 May 2016 Mark my words, this fella will have a break-out season. Massive potential this kid! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Jimothy Posted 13 May 2016 Posted 13 May 2016 Could the club have said no, to Gray playing in the tournament? Lets face it no-one cares about the U21 tournament, and we might be trying to avoid unnecessary injury? Can the club do that though? Isn't it against the rules to refuse to release a player for internationals unless he's injured.
Dodgy Bob Posted 13 May 2016 Posted 13 May 2016 I bet he's on the back up list or whatever it's called along with Albrighton. Can we get odds on that?
AjcW Posted 13 May 2016 Posted 13 May 2016 The Toulon is traditionally an U21 tournament where the U19's go along in favour of more regular players.... Having said that the squad Southgate named isn't far off his usual!
foxfanazer Posted 13 May 2016 Posted 13 May 2016 Got high hopes for this boy in the future. Seems very intelligent on the pitch for his age. Used mainly as a last 15 minute sub when we're winning games which is unusual for a young pacey winger but he holds the ball up well and makes the right decisions 90% of the time. Hope we give him time to progress and learn from the likes of Riyad and Albrighton and dare i say it Schlupp
filbertway Posted 13 May 2016 Posted 13 May 2016 He's blatently going to France. In all seriousness though, barring injury. I am confident he will be off to the world cup in 2018
Bettsj2 Posted 13 May 2016 Posted 13 May 2016 Ever since that Sunderland away game and him celebrating the first goal like he'd been with us his whole life, i've loved the guy. That and the fact that every game he's come on for us recently he's ripped the shit out of everyone. Would love to see him start at Chelsea.
AKCJ Posted 13 May 2016 Posted 13 May 2016 ****ing ridiculous that they have picked an Irishman ahead of him. Especially when said Irishman is absolute shite and can't get into the worst side in the league.
Guest CityFan 06 Posted 13 May 2016 Posted 13 May 2016 Agree with all above, I think Gray could do some great stuff next season. He's looked classy a majority of the time he's come on and sometimes you get that 'feel' about a player who looks like star quality at PL level. He's going to get better and better next season/future seasons, especially learning from our current wingers, and future wingers that are bought into the club. In general being in the environment of high level football and players will be beneficial for him. Exciting prospect.
